About this property

Holiday Cottage with Lake Views

Although this is a traditional 1850's Cottage, there is plenty of space for 4 guests and one well behaved pet. There is a large king size bedroom and a twin bedroom, with an upstairs family bathroom. We also have a downstairs WC, an area to hang coats and kick off your boots, as well as a utility room for washing & drying. The kitchen / dining room is large enough for entertaining and we have a cosy lounge area with a log burning stove.

Bedding and hand/bath towels for 4 people are supplied, along with a two tea-towels, a dishcloth, washing up liquid and a couple of dishwasher tablets.

Wifi (fibre optic) is supplied free of charge and does not form part of the booking contract.

At the foot of the Old Man of Coniston, guests will be able to leave the car behind and explore the mountain, yet we are only a few minutes walk from the centre of the Village where there are a good variety of local pubs and places to eat.

The Cottage is situated on a quiet leafy lane on the Banks of Coniston. The views over the Village and across the Lake to Brantwood & Grizedale are stunning, giving us a lovely setting for a morning cuppa on the Terrace, or for a late evening drink watching the sunset.

The Cottage was completely renovated 3 years ago and the ground stone floor is ideal for pets: 1 well behaved pet is most welcome. We operate a no smoking policy in the Cottage.

Wonderful vacation home

Apartment lovingly remodeled to high standard. Wonderful outside porch and view to the east over Coniston water. Bed comfortable, kitchen well-appointed, bathroom all well done. Overall a great place and well located for an excellent Lake District holiday.

About the host

We are Mandy & Steve Moss, and we welcome you to Miner’s Cottage. We live and work on the Fylde Coast, but have spent much of our spare time travelling to the Lake District to enjoy the outdoor pursuits that this area has to offer. We eventually to took the plunge and purchased No 39 Bank Terrace at the start of 2012.

We spent the majority of 2012 renovating the cottage and transforming it into a luxurious holiday home, and most importantly, revealing many original features from this 1850 miner’s accommodation. We pride ourselves on style and cleanliness, trying our very best to ensure that everything is perfect for our guests to relax and enjoy their holiday in this beautiful part of the South Lakes.

Why they chose this property

Although the cottage was in need of a full renovation, we chose this location because of the superb position, the stunning views and the village atmosphere. Coniston Village is only a few minutes walk away, yet we are in a very quiet leafy lane overlooking Coniston Water with views across the lake to Grizedale Forest. We come to the cottage to take some time out, unwind and switch off, and we hope our guests are able to do the same.

What makes this property unique

We have parking for 1 car (or 2 small vehicles), where they can stay for the duration giving you a more relaxing break!

The nearest pub is just a couple of minutes down the lane, and is a great place to socialise and enjoy the good cumbrian fare.

Once again, the views from the Cottage are stunning - you have to see them really appreciate them.
