We enjoyed our stay in Twin Pines. The surrounding countryside was pretty and we were able to enjoy the view in the evening sunshine on the deck.
Although the kitchen only has a small oven and double hob (additional portable two rings available) it met our needs.
Living/dining room and main bedroom a good size.
Rita was quick to respond to queries and we appreciated the milk and biscuits.
Nice property Rita very helpful when we arrived everything explained in full a great place to stay and unwind peaceful and lovely view will return again when time off to relax thank you
Cabin was dark due to trees and surrounding shrubbery. Hob/cooker was not easy to use resulting in burnt food. A full instruction leaflet would be handy. We were surprised that we had to pay extra by meter for electricity. Pretty area to stay.
Lovely place from which visit South Wales or access the University.
We loved this pinewood cabin, set in a little wood and farmland - an oasis of peace and beauty in a largely built-up area of South Wales. Rita had thought of everything one might need, including a laundry drying pole in the garden! There were clear instructions where needed about hot water and so on, and an iron and ironing board, which I don't think is mentioned on the website. It does mention that you need £1 coins for the meter, but one other reviewer seemed not to have picked this up. The kitchenette and shower room are tiny and basic, but everything works. It would be difficult to cook a complicated meal on the tiny cooker, but for a simple meal it's fine. The bedroom was large enough and comfortable, with lots of space for storage. The small sitting room and the large one that was an extension to the original lodge contained bed-settees. Both had television. The large living room had a proper dining-room table as well. This would be a perfect writing retreat, or, as I used it, a place to revise for an exam at the nearby university. Lots of places to visit if you are just on holiday, with the historic town of Llantrisant nearby and shops within a few miles. The Caesar's Arms had wonderful food! Oh, and the ducks like breakfast cereal flakes!
The cabin was larger and better equipped than I was thinking it would be. . I hadn't realised there were 4 cabins and not just the one I thought I booked, however this didnt change anything about the facilities. The cabin wasnt the one in the photo BUT I think ours was even better located, up over a little wooden bridge.
I can't fault any of the facilities. Perfect for a base when exploring South Wales. Would definately go again. Rural but close enough(5 mins) from restaurants and shops.
Lovely and quiet. Very clean, we had everything we needed for a quiet relaxing get away from it all weekend. Thoroughly recommend it. Friendly chicken coming up to see us, duck pond was a treat xx
Lovely surroundings, peaceful and easy access to everything. Very private and quiet and the little touches outside made it extra special. Will defo recommend this place. Property manager was very helpful and made our stay much more relaxing.
We had a wonderful time in Twin Pines. Fresh air, clean and very well maintained area, lovely duck pond and great host! Our 19 month old girl loved every aspect of our holiday, including said duck pond and random chickens roaming around our car :)
We spent a lovely week in a great place!
Pro tip: if you like fishing, take your gear with you and you will not be disappointed as there are ample, well stocked fisheries nearby (got myself 25lbs carp using only one rod)
Pro tip 2: some loose £1 and £2 coins are a must, electric meter is topped up with those.
My family really loved the lodge and enjoyed their stay. Unfortunately I didn't tell them about needing £1 coins for electric meter which was entirely an oversight on my part. Nevertheless they still had a great time in wonderful surroundings. Thank you
We were looking forward to sunbathing on the Veranda but there was no view, we were surrounded by trees. The property was in a very peaceful position and we did enjoy ourselves. Cooking was a challenge and like the cooker the shower was very small,
We stayed at Twin Pines for our first family holiday with our 18 month old son. The location was exactly what we wanted - quiet, rural, yet only a short drive to local amenities. The property was perfect and had everything you would need. We cooked a meal every night in the well equipped kitchen. The owner, Rita, was lovely and made us feel very welcome. She showed us around on arrival and made sure we knew how everything worked. She even left us with a pint of milk, tea, coffee and chocolate biscuits! The area is beautiful and we had two very friendly horses as our neighbours who came to visit every evening! Ideal for anyone who loves being outdoors as there are loads of walks in the area. We didn't have time to do everything we wanted to so will definitely be planning another visit in the future.
