Melambes Studio Apartment - Experience life in a traditional Cretan village.

The Space

Tastefully renovated basement studio/apartment. On the street level of our family home, Situated on the edge of the village square, just 15 metres from the nearest well ( At which you will frequently find Donkeys and Goats drinking as well as locals filling their water carriers)

Guest Access

Guests have the full run of this private apartment as well as a level seating area outside the front door, ( Greek Stylie) and a small raised terrace overlooking the village square.
We are as flexible as possible on check in/out times, dependent on our other bookings, please contact us to discuss if necessary.

Interaction with Guests

We will be available all through the guests stay, and more than happy ( if required) to introduce them to our neighbours and local shop, cafe-neon and bar owners in order that they may get the real village experience!!
There is a village bakery for fresh daily bread and two supermarkets for food and essentials.
Fresh eggs from our organic chickens are usually available daily.

The Neighborhood

Melambes is quite beautiful, nestled as it is on the mountainside. Whilst a short drive from the nearby award winning, Blue flag, beaches and resorts, its also an ideal base for walkers, hikers, and cyclists. The local mountainside is home to beautiful herbs and wild flowers. Painters and photographers especially appreciate the local scenery. The village can be a little busier in August when lots of the locals return home for their holidays.

Getting Around

Although there is vehicular access right to the front door, The street is very narrow, the easiest access and Parking is from the main square just 10 meters away. We recommend hiring a car to make the most of your stay, but we can help with that, we have arranged special rates with a local firm, with airport collection if required. Secure motorcycle/cycle storage is also available (but not necessary).
