Just as the initial picture shows, the property is beautiful. The outside areas, dock, fire pit, deck, porches are all well inviting. Our party, 9 adults, used all of these spaces. Time spent in the house was mainly just sleeping and dining. The sun rises were beautiful; we were visited by squirrels, chipmunks, a variety of birds and of course deer. One of our party spend time on the dock fishing; no luck but he did enjoy.
There were, however, some drawbacks from this property, None of which I would say should keep you from visiting. For the size of the potential guests, the 2 slice toaster oven needs changed out; the cleanliness was acceptable in general, but the place could use a good dusting, the curves of the logs tend to collect dust; the doors of the upstairs master do not close well; there are a multitude of wall switches that don't seem to operate anything; we couldn't get a light in the living to turn on; the light in master on ceiling does not turn on; the cutlery is, well, juvenile(??), plastic handles, seemed weird; the basement door from bathroom did not open and interior bathroom door is difficult to close/lock; the "ants" on the plates startled one of the members of our group, he is autistic and those greatly upset him; the biggest problem is the main floor bath tub - it doesn't drain well, you stand in the water. We did contact the owner, someone came over with Drano but there was no improvement. There were 5 adults using the shower in that room, so it was a bit of a bother.
I understand that this review may sound like I am complaining, but again, none of this should stop you from renting. Just something you have to deal with. I have rented properties in other states and out of the country. This is not my first experience.
