Home from home
Great stay despite awful weather. Really comfortable stay for our family of 8 celebrating a special birthday. Lovely big party space and a kitchen so well equipped that I managed to cook and keep everyone well fed for the 3 days we stayed. Very friendly host, quick responses to all our queries. Would stay again any time.

Great property, great location
The Gingang was well equipped to cater for 10 people and is in a great location. We had family join us from several locations and we had a very enjoyable week. Our eldest grandson particularly loved the trampoline. Thank you Bev and Val.

Wonderful family time
The property was the perfect location for a get together with our daughters one from Edinburgh and one from Manchester, our three beautiful grandchildren we hadn’t met before, a very dear friend also from Scotland and my husband and myself all the way from Perth Western Australia. The Gingang was so well suited to accomodate us all and as I’m a wheelchair user the ground floor bedroom with ensuite was excellent! Beautifully equipped kitchen, large dining room and such a comfortable lounge room suited our group perfectly. The gardens and facilities were also wonderful. Hopefully we will return in a year or two for another catch up all together. Highly recommend this venue and location.

GinGang Barn, Frosterley
Very nice accommodation, great location and beautiful countryside. Lots to do locally, great walks and small play area at the GinGang which the children loved and used regularly, including the pool table. Spacious accommodation, nice to have a large separate dining area and lounge. Reasonably easy to find the accommodation, use the traffic lights as a clue that you are virtually there. Accessibility There is a room on ground floor. Parking space outside. The hosts provided a frame for the toilet but tight fit for anyone plus sized. Kitchen floor has fashionable but uneven tile flooring. If you need walking stick be careful as can be a trip hazard. Downstairs additional toilet handy but needs a grab rail for support Need touch lamps downstairs as very awkward to turn light off when in bed, particularly if you have bad arthritis. Observations. As it is a conversion barn, sky lights in the roof for windows but unless you are tall, it is really hard to open them unless you stand on the bed or chair which is a bit dodgy. The blinds with them are bit confusing as no obvious way to pull up or down so if that was included in the welcome pack, be very helpful. Might have been us but for any 5'4 or under, be aware. Knives - are blunt and could not be sharpened even though we did try. Helpful if new sets can replace them as notice other reviews have mentioned this problem. Overall highly recommend but if you require accessibility, talk to the hosts prior booking.

A gem in the beautiful countryside!
Our large family stayed in both the Gin Gang and Byre accommodations while attending our daughters graduation from Durham University. These homes were lovely! The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The grounds of the property are simply stunning with ponds, lawn and flower gardens. There is a beautiful back garden with lawn to play on,a barbecue grill and a recreation room with a pool table! One of our most favorite memories is having met Val and Morris who were so generous with their company and insights into all the area offers. Well done!

Fabulous house!
A beautiful, well presented and spacious house which was perfect for our annual family get together. It had everything we needed and was close to the pub and villages for some nice walks. The kids loved the games room (although a big cold for me) and the trampoline. Would recommend!
