The house is extraordinary. Fabulous views and perfect location. The house is full of all the necessities that anyone would need or want. Comfort with style. We had such a great time and would highly recommend this house to all.
Our family had an amazing stay at this location. Everything was provided for a comfortable stay! The views of Croagh Patrick were indeed captivating! Everything was explained with ease. The landscaping & flowers were beautiful! We have made some great memories - Thank you!
Perfect location for a vacation in West of Ireland
We stayed here with our five children and it was just fabulous! The house is modern, spacious, clean, fantastic location downtown Westport. The gardens are impeccable and you have a lovely view of Croagh Patrick & Clew Bay.
The beds are incredibly comfortable and every bedroom is en suite with wonderful water pressure showers.
There is a wonderful big kitchen and our hostess Patricia lefts basics for us to use for cooking,
Patricia was very responsive and checked in regularly to make sure we were enjoying our stay and if we needed anything.
We absolutely will be back and will be recommending this location to my siblings who live in Chicago and also travel to Ireland.
Our family group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Patricia's house. The house is beautiful and with four bedrooms it was the perfect size for us. The modern kitchen made it easy for us to cook meals on those nights we chose to eat in. Patricia was kind enough to offer us use of the food and drink items in the refrigerator and pantry. We supplemented that with groceries that were easily accessible at the nearby Centra and Super Value markets in nearby Westport. The washer and dryer were quite useful to us for catching up on laundry. All agreed the beds were most comfortable for sleeping. Most impressive was the stunning view of majestic Croagh Patrick (which our two teenage grandsons climbed one day) from the rear patio. The landscaping around the house was well maintained and offered a large variety of beautiful flowers. The ample lawn area at the back was a favorite of the oldest grandson for practicing his gymnastic flips. For outside dining we liked the evening dinners we had at The Shebeen and The Towers at Westport Quay and especially The Tavern in nearby Murrisk. For a full Irish breakfast Curry's Cottage on James Street in Westport was great. Westport has a number of shops to explore as well as a beautiful church, St. Mary's. As for the location it was ideal for visiting a number of interesting spots. Leenane with Killary Harbor, Kylemore Abbey, Eagles Flying in Ballymote, Sligo (a spectacular show with birds of prey), Knock Shrine, The Country Life Museum and my ancestral home near Tubbercurry were all within a one day drive. All in all this was the perfect house in the perfect location. I heartily recommend it. Thank you Patricia.

Excellent and well equipped property in convenient location
Patricia is a wonderful hostess. We felt we were borrowing a friend's house. It is exceptionally well-equipped and we do appreciate there being a good supply of condiments, spices and the fridge topped up with beers in addition to the spirits which we were encouraged to enjoy. The upstairs main bedroom is very good with a balcony and views of mountains and sea. Cooking facilities and the very enjoyable kitchen diner meant that we ate our evening meals at home rather than the local restaurants. You do need a car but distance to Westport is about 3 miles. Patricia took the time to welcome us to the house and spent a good deal of time giving suggestions of where to go and to eat.

Fantastic! Well worth the price.
Beautiful and most comfortable house with a lovely garden. The owner, Patricia, welcomed us like old friends. She had even filled up the fridge with beverages and some food to barbeque. She also gave us useful information of things to do and places to visit in the area. The house is nicely decorated an have a fantastic master suite with view of Croagh Patrick mountain and the bay. The area is of outstanding natural beauty and there are lots of places to visit and things to do. The most memorable was cycling from Achill to Newport on the Great Western Greenway and horseriding on the beach for our two daughters. There are several nice pubs and restaurants with good food in Westport and Westport queys, some also with live music. The weather was warm and sunny and we had a most wonderful time!

Perfect!
We had a fabulous stay in this amazing property. It does not seem like a vacation rental as it features high-end amenities throughout. It is exactly as shown in the photos, but even better in person. Our favorite room was the huge kitchen which was warm and welcoming and had a large dining area. We used the comfortable living room after dinner. The house was a perfect fit for us. We were 6 adults (3 couples) but it could easily have taken another couple (four bedrooms). Lots and lots of room to spread out. Everything is top-notch here, from the furnishings to the high-thread linen. The owner has thought of everything. The kitchen was fully equipped and had everything you could need including washer, dryer and dishwasher. Quality linen, dishes, glass and silverware. Bathroom towels were big and plentiful. Internet connectivity was strong and reliable. Every inch was spotlessly clean, in mint condition, freshly painted and decorated with art and books and attractive, comfortable furnishings. The bedrooms were large and had more than ample storage. The bonus feature was Patricia who owns the property. She was incredibly gracious and very responsive to my many questions both months before and during our stay, including travel directions to other places as well as suggesting other things we might want to do and see. She was thoughtful about every aspect of our visit and checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. From the very first email at booking until we checked out she did everything she could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. We enjoyed the seclusion and silence of this large property with well-tended gardens. It is a few minutes drive from Westport which is a charming old town. We had a great meal in the Port Mor restaurant in Westport. We loved Mayo, Ashford Castle, Connemara and Galway (beautiful town). The Atlantic coastline is amazing. The golfers in our group were more than satisfied with the fine choices available. We would go back in a heartbeat. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by Patricia O'Keeffe
We are lawyers from the West of Ireland who live and work in Dublin. We have spent many holidays over the years in our home in the west. We have spent the last few months updating the property and wish to share it with others who want a very unique , restful and beautiful place to stay.
Why they chose this property
Ask yourself do you want to get away from it all? If you want home comforts combined with stunning amazing views of mountains, the sea, woodlands and even Clare Island this is the home for you. It has space both inside and well maintained and generous gardens outside. It is close to Westport town but allows you to be so far removed from it when you want to be.There is a magic and charm about this property which has to be seen to be believed. There are picture postcard views from every window. It is a very private and tranquil property with wonderful mature lawns and gardens set on over three acres. There is also a lovely orchard and raspberry garden on the grounds. It is hidden from the road with access by electric gates. We have holidayed regularly over the last 20 years here and watched our children enjoy the freedom of the property and grow to love it as much as we do . Having come from the area we love all that is on offer around us and the surrounding county. There are so many interesting things to do. The list is truly endless. Regardless of the weather it makes for a wonderful base for a holiday. To have such a property so close to Westport is very hard to find. It is a great home from home for a family get together or a family escaping!
What makes this property unique
We love the property as we built and designed it. We wanted a home that was spacious for entertaining family and friends. The reception areas are very spacious. The house is completely clad in a beautiful stone from Connemara which was painstakingly worked on for over four months by an expert stone mason. It is a very striking feature of the property. The view of Croagh Patrick from each room is a wonderful sight to behold and it always captivates me. To sit on the terrace and see Croagh Patrick with a breath taking sunset is awesome. There is an abundance of sun light coming through the house at every angle all day which gives a bright and warm feeling to the house. There is also the two sided real glass fire place which was added this year which is amazing. You can also enjoy a fire and the incredible views in the main bedroom upstairs. You can get lost in the tranquillity and just be a stones throw from the hustle and bustle of Westport.
