Licata is a beautiful city on the southern coast of Sicily, a few kilometers from Agrigento, with lots of shops, bars, restaurants, pubs, 2 shopping centers and the beautiful harbor and is a very interesting city from a historical and cultural point of view , due to its archaeological site, its museum, its churches and villas in the "art nouveau". The beaches are famous for their sand and crystal blue sea. About 20 kilometers of varied coastline that goes from sandy stretches where other cliffs, pebbles, small and large bays to dominate. Some of the beaches are: Marianello near the fishing harbor that is one of the most beautiful beaches of Licata, Horse, Nicolizia, Balatazze, Mollarella, the busiest and best known of all the southern coast of Sicily, with two promontories that form the protection; Poliscia; San Nicola, very small consisting mostly by rocks; The fortress; Pisciotto; Mouth of the Hen, the most pristine of all licatesi beaches, and Torre di Gaffe which takes its name from the nearby lookout tower (in the west of the city); Poggio di Guardia, with sandy coastline and small cliffs where there are also the "timpe" the white gullies that make the fascinating landscape; la Playa, (in the east). Tourism is, for the city of Licata, the primary source of economy being this city one of the busiest and best known of the southern coast of Sicily. Even agriculture and fishing have always been interested in this area due to the importance that the port of Licata has always had in the Mediterranean, for the sorting of goods before the wheat and now sulfur and the products of the mines. Today there are tons of activities related to fishing.
