About this property

On the 1st easy floor of a perfectly restored ancient Venetian building, bordered by nice and quiet canals, right edge of Saint-Mark’s area, we propose you Amaryllis, a quality featured, quiet venetian apart. Excellent gateway to visit, just 7-10 minutes walking from both Saint-Mark square and Rialto’s Bridge area (it depends on the path u choose), no Grand Canal to cross, perfectly deseved by transports (3 waterbus stops in the nearby, the closest just 1 min. walking) the area is not a massive tourism target yet and still preserves charme and sensations of times gone by. Penetrating the quiet narrow streets, the "calli", around the buinding one discovers the "Campi", characteristic small squares of Venice with their old-fashoned flavour and the small family-run restaurants which offer menus of exclusive special dishes of local tradition. It is the only and last Venetian area where old manufacturers and small local art galleries still survive. Small daily local markets selling fresh products of the region can be also found in the surroundings
Finally Amaryllis proposes a comfortable accomodation in an unique area, perfect for those who look to visit the most original Venice, avoiding the unpleasant feeling of beeing in a theme park. Arsenale’s and Giardini’s proximity (most fascinating Venetian spots and Biennale Expo main sites) is a plus.

Perfect size for every kind of group, family, friends, couples, Amaryllis proposes high ceilings (3,30 mt) parquet floors in every ambience white framed windows and white wooden doors. Elegant features, large windows and quality lighting create extremely relaxing and bright ambiences, offering guests a pleasant, restful and quiet accomodation. Due to its particular layout (dining area is separated by the living/TV) Amaryllis can accomodate up to 6 adults in three separated rooms. All beds are comfortable single and every sleeping configuration request can be easily satisfied (two single can be firmly fixed and made on a double, and reverse).
The dining area is equipped with an elegant 6 seats tempered glass table and its proximity to the (fully equipped) kitchen allow guests to easily prepare and serve every meal. Amaryllis also proposes a nice terrace facing a pictoresque original “Campiello” (small typical Venetian square) with its typical Archway allowing access to the water (guests can directly arrive/leave by water taxi), a comfortable single entrance (just 1 flight of stairs) with private atrium used as checkroom and coat/shoes deposit and easy access from/to every Venetian terminal (direct easy access from/to airport, train station and cruise terminal).

Surprisingly spacious apartment in non tourist part of Venice

Loved our stay here. Felt like we got to experience the Italian Venice and not the cruise ship Venice. Authentic restaurants and shops it was a great experience. The apartment itself is well equipped and accomodated a family of 5 very comfortably. We enjoyed our stay.

Appartement decoration simple mais il y a tout ce qu'il faut. L'emplacement au TOP, car vous pouvez prendre le bateau pour l'aéroport pour toutes les iles et a 15mn a pied de la basilique. Nous recommandons.

Perfect Venice apartment

We loved our stay, the beds were comfy, it’s quiet and a lovely walk to the sights (10-15 mins) and great restaurants. The waterbus is close by. A great real Venice experience.

We had a wonderful stay. Place was exactly as described, clean, very spacious, with a well equipped kitchen. Hosts were very helpful! We were told what water bus to get on, what stop to get off and they met us there to walk us to the home. We wanted to be away from the busy crowded streets of San Marco area, and this place was perfect location for just that!

Andrew is a wonderful host! He arranged private water taxi service for us from the train station and met us where the boat dropped us off to walk us to the apartment. The apartment is so lovely - very clean and spacious and air conditioned which was key for the hot days! My daughter loved the couch so much she slept there every night. Bathrooms were clean and the shower in the main bathroom had good water pressure. Don’t know about the temp as we took cold showers every day because it was so hot! There was a grocery store within 5 min walk and Andrew had great restaurant recommendations. The food at the Osteria Santa Giustina was so good that we ate there 2 nights in a row and it was only a 5 min walk from the apartment. We also loved that the apartment was away from the touristy areas but only a 15-20 min walk to San Marco Square. It was fun exploring all the little streets and bridges to get to and from there. Overall a wonderful stay - would totally stay here again!

The property was well suited for our needs as a family of 5 (with kids ages 8-14). My family loved the area because it was not crowded with tourists but still walking distance to the major tourist sites. We loved Andrew, the property manager, the most - he was most welcoming and helpful with directions and recommendations.

G’s 23 Holiday

First of all Andrew is a spectacular host! He met us at the water taxi and showed us to the Vrbo! That was such a great start to our vacation in Venice! He even helped us with our luggage! The place was clean and had air conditioning which is a must in the summer months in Italy. The washrooms were clean and showers had great water pressure too. The kitchen is a little small but, adequate for holidays. Washer came in handy. No dryer but if you washed your clothes in the morning they were dry by bedtime. Only complaint are the beds are hard. We didn’t mention it either. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much Andrew!!

Peaceful stay

We had an incredible stay here. It was only a five minute walk to the vaporetto stop and grocery store, and removed just enough to not feel overwhelmed by tourists and crowds. There was plenty of space for all six of us to spread out and it was a very comfortable stay!

Excellent location, helpful host

The location was fantastic as we were within easy walking distance of the sights but also quiet at night. Our host, Andrew, provided timely communication in advance of our trip, met us at our water taxi drop-off, and even provided much needed communication with a courier when our luggage was lost.

Great experience. The appartament is comfortable, well heated, fournished. The location allows you to get awway from the tourist hordes and feel the venetian's Venice. We had a great time and would definitely return.

modernes, ruhiges, grosszügiges apartment

alles neu, sehr grosszügig viel platz, sogar zwei bäder, balkon mit morgensonne zu einem malerischen hof . die vermieterin hat uns am vaporetto abgeholt , der vetmieter hat mir sogar meinen im apartment vergessenen hausschlüssel nachgeschickt. die lage ist ruhig, fern des tourihalligalli und dennoch günstig für alles, was man sehen will, supermarkt cafe und ein sehr gutes kleines restaurant gleich um die ecke.

Clean and large apartment in the real Venice!

The apartment was actually bigger than we realized upon arrival - bonus points. The owner was very accessible and the on the ground support was awesome! It was a 15 minute walk for us (once we figured out the way) to San Marco. There was a grocery store nearby and tons of great food (including gelato) options within 5 minute walk. What amazed us the most - was how quiet it was. We all slept soundly and the comfy beds helped. We would definitely stay there again!

Schöne Wohnung in ruhiger Umgebung

Wir wurden sehr freundlich von der Vaporetto Haltestelle abgeholt. Die Wohnungsübergabe war unkompliziert. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön, hat 2 Bäder, 3 Zimmer und eine gut ausgestattete Wohnküche. Ist alles da. Der Markusplatz ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Je öfters man läuft, desto schneller findet man ihn. Alles bestens. Gerne wieder.

Great accomodations in a real part of Venice.

If you don't mind a 15- minute stroll through real Venice with a chance to see locals taking their kids to school, walking their dogs, popping into the local church for mass, meeting friends for coffee, etc., you should strongly consider this apartment. First of all the owner is great to work with, and Andrew, who is the point of contact from your arrival, could not have more helpful or delightful. Then there is the apartment: it's a winner! Access is down one of Venice's quintessential narrow alleyways. It leads to a small courtyard that appears little-changed in hundreds of years and opens onto a canal. Open the front door and you are in a small vestibule. A storage cabinet holds rubber boots for the rare flood. The other element there is the short run of stairs up to the main floor. On the left is a dining area with a small but fully-functional kitchen with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and washing machine. The pantry came supplied with oil and seasonings. Back the other direction in the entry hallway are two bathrooms. Each is newly remodeled and clean with modern fixtures (sink, watercloset, bidet, and shower). One also has a towel warmer. The apartment was supplied with a boundless number of towels. The smaller of two bedrooms is sufficiently large for the bed and other furnishings (side table, chest-of-drawers, chair and radiator). Likewise, the larger bedroom was fully fitted out with bedside tables,a wardrobe, shelving, a chair, a single bed in addition to the king-sized one. It also offered a view of the courtyard. Finally, the apartment is made complete with a den. There is a large and comfortable sofa, several chairs, a small desk, a bookcase loaded with travel information, and a side table with a tv (local and Italian channels only). There is also a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. Wifi is good, temperatures were well-kept in comfortable range, and the supply of hot water was sufficient during our stay for our demands. There is a grocery store less than 2 10 minutes away and Andrew provides a list of recommended restaurants. We sampled from that list and we're very happy we did! In summary, we would not hesitate to stay again here in the future!

We had an excellent 5 nights stay. The apart is quiet, well appointed, fully equipped (good WiFi and AC) with comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. It faces a delicious no exit small square with archway to the water, mostly inhabited by residents and (they told us) often used as film set because of its genuinity and charme. Surroundings are quiet, few tourists, many family commerces and restaurants. The position is perfect both for easy arrival/departure (from the airport is perfect) and sight-seeing. Finally the goodness of your stay also depends (a lot) on the choice of the accommodation and well, we surely made a good choice. Thanks to delightful Andrew that gave u lot of good tips (this also makes a difference).

Excellent choice

Very undecided, in the end we chose this splendid apartment in a very central and convenient area for everything but still genuine and uncrowded in Venice, and our choice was absolutely spot on. The apartment is a comfortable first floor with its own private entrance, which overlooks a beautiful small square (we learned it is named "Campello"), and is therefore very quiet and above all bright. Comfortable beds, new bathrooms, perfectly equipped, good wi-fi, all working. The area is incredibly still genuine: there isn't the crowds of San Marco but it is still a 10 minute walk (and 5 min from the Arsenale), and all around there are local restaurants and family-run shops to discover, very beautiful. Finally our choice, both of the apartment and of the location, could not have been better.

Excellent accomodation in a still genuine part of Venice. The apart is a comfortable first floor (1 flight of private stairs), good size, extremely quiet and perfectly renovated. The two new bathrooms with shower were really useful for our group of 4 and we also appreciated the good AC and WiFi Internet. The apart faces a small and quiet no exit square, we understood it is typical venetian and it is named Campielo and it is now a rarity in Venice. The location is also excellent: a still genuine part of Venice where we found lot of commerces for locals, as well as family run shops and restaurants. A pleasure to discover surroundings. All this just few steps away (about 10 min walking) from crowded Saint-Mark’s area. It was a pleasure visiting messed up areas then easily return to our quiet corner. Warmly suggested.

Perfect for our family

This apartment is in a quiet area, great for our family of a 2-year-old with her parents & grandparents. Everything we wanted to see and do was within walking distance, and we had great guidance from our host, including being met at the water bus stop and accompanied to the apartment, as well as great advice for touring the island. They also set up a crib for our granddaughter, which we greatly appreciated. The only complaint we had was about the mosquitos, which are probably a problem everywhere. They would sneak in during the evening and lie in wait on the ceilings and walls until we were sleeping. We were able to mitigate the problem somewhat by shutting the windows in the evening and killing as many as we could before bedtime. Another hint to travelers: the buses coming from the airport area are slow and noisy; we decided we would check out the water taxis the next time we come.

Live Like a Local

Quiet location away from tourists yet accessible to main attractions and markets. Restaurants in area were wonderful. Apartment roomy and bathrooms were very clean. Andrew even provided a bottle of Italian bubbly to celebrate. Mr. Andrew was very responsive to all our questions, even in the evening, when we had a question on getting to the train station. Happy with choice for 1st time in Venice.

The area is considered on of the last genuine parts of Venice.

What makes this property unique

A genuine bite of Venice. Still genuine, intresting, comfortable for visiting but no massive touristic area. Extremely quiet easy (European) 1st floor apart with single private entrance. Brand new apart, minty and sophisticated features. Full new equipement. Easy access from/to every Town's terminal (direct from airport/train station). Non touristic shops (market, bakery, grocery etc..) and restaurants at short walking distance. A table can be set behind apart's balcony, in the small no exit campiello facing the water, agreable.
Amaryllis also proposes a nice balcony facing a pictoresque original “Campiello” (small Venetian square) with its typical archway allowing access to the water (guests can directly arrive/leave by water taxi), a comfortable single entrance (just 1 flight of stairs) with private atrium used as checkroom and coat/shoes deposit.
Unlike most of Venetian aparts (facing narrow pedestrian "calli" or canals) due to the front small square Amaryllis is a bright and rightly sunny accomodation, fresh during summer (fully air-conditoned) and warm during cold seasons (powerful autonomous heating). The small Calle and Campiello are no exit, so no passage, no noise, bright daylight and extreme quietness. We are sure u will appreciate this genuine and rare bite of Venice.
