This is a completely private unit. Beautiful New Orleans single, shotgun home with high ceilings, heart of pine floors, cypress doors, beautiful old windows and architectural details. Living room with comfy furniture, couch, chairs and tv. In the bedroom is a queen size bed and armoire. The bathroom is new with shower. Relax on the front porch or walk to watch the bands just a few blocks away. There are many new restaurants, bars, coffee shops and galleries that have opened up in the area to explore.

Location location

The apartment was a lovely place to stay. Rita our host was very friendly and helpful with all our questions. Will definitely stay here again. Just a short distance away from the French quarter which was great. Lots of lovely restaurants and pubs within the area.

I had high expectations from the website and I was not disappointed. The studio is lovely and the bed is very comfortable. Only a 15 min walk to the French Quarter and closer to Frenchman Street. Would definitely recommend to anyone not wanting to be in the middle of the crowds and noises.

Week in Bywater/Marigny

This stay was so fantastic, wonderful guide to the area from our host, responsive to questions, ease of location being close to so many artsy area attractions on top of the French Quarter. Highly recommend staying with Rita, sitting out front and sipping coffee in the mornings, and divine living arrangements.

Best time in the Bywater!

We stayed in Rita's place for 3 nights, and it was exceptional. The location was perfect; it was about a 10-15 minute walk from Frenchmen Street, about 25 to Bourbon Street, and beautiful neighborhoods in between. We sat on the front porch every morning with coffee, and it felt like we were at home and truly part of the neighborhood somehow. We chatted with her briefly a few times on her way in and she's lovely! What a magical place. We hope to come back next year! As a note, there is a train close by, but she does have a small noise machine in there which helped a lot. You might still want to bring earplugs, but we slept just fine, and the bed was super comfortable.

We had a wonderful stay at Rita’s place. Very clean, charming & in a great neighborhood. Drinking coffee on the front patio was a huge highlight of our trip! Rita was also very friendly & accomodating.

Great location...straddling Bywater and the Marigny you are close to the best of both. Cute furnishings, cozy comfy beg and nice amenities make this the perfect stay to explore and have a home base to rest and recharge

Great little spot

We loved the apartment and the neighborhood, lots of nice thoughtful touches and amazing food and bars nearby. Nearby train goes by frequently, and loudly, including during the night, but the most comfortable mattress in the world makes up for it!

Enjoyed our stay. Very convenient location if you are looking to explore New Orleans. Quick tip about the shower- Leave the shower head level and it will not drip when you turn the water off. We figured this out the last night.

We loved our stay here - the studio is very well appointed with everything you could need to be self sufficient. The photos actually don’t do the place justice - you feel like you’re in a chic French apartment!

NOLA experience!

We had a wonderful stay on the border of Marginy/Bywater areas of NOLA. A mix of housing, lots of WONDERFUL local food, art, vintage shopping. It was safe and accessible to everything we wanted to do in NOLA - music & food. Had a great local ballet/opera house as well. Our host was wonderful and responsive to our needs. The gunshot style home was common in the area so it was nice to experience the housing history of NOLA during our stay. We had quite a bit of rain but the positives were greater than the adventures rain brought. 😀

Perfect honeymoon getaway

A quaint little mid century house that’s a perfect distance to the Center. Close enough to be in walking distance of the trolley or the Center, yet far enough that’s it’s not loud and unpleasant. It had everything we wanted and needed and more. We would love to stay again.

Perfect NOLA

My husband and I stayed here for a week for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! Cute little place in the Marigny -- enough of a little quiet getaway from the main city yet close enough in walking distance to all the main areas of attraction (especially Frenchman St). Safe neighborhood and plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby to explore as well. Highly recommend Nonno's (Corner of Touro and Dauphine). Rita is amazing as a host! Very accommodating and responds quickly to your messages. Definitely plan on staying there again when we come to visit NOLA. Wonderful experience all around!

Wonderful Place

We had a great stay at this location! We were able to quickly walk to downtown, lots of access to wonderful restaurants, interesting spots and everything we were hoping to do in NOLA. Our host was wonderful and gave recommendations and make the entire process extremely easy! Glad we got to call this little nook our resting place for a few days.

Gem in the Marigny

What an absolute delight and treat to stay here and have Rita as a host. I've been to NOLA about 7 or 8 times, and this has been one of the cutest and traditional homes I've stayed in. Everything was curated with such care and thought. Decor was perfect, amount of space was comfortable, safety of the area is great, proximity to some yum bars and restaurants (Franklin for HH, Frady's, Bacchanal) Marigny and Bywater should be explored as there is more to NOLA than the Quarter. That said, the quarter is about a 20 min walk, but take your time! You won't go wrong here =) As soon as I know I'll be going back go NOLA, i will be seeing the availability for the space.

I've lived in New Orleans for 20 years and love my new hometown! I moved here from Indiana where I ran a vintage clothing store, used record shop and then worked in a battered women's shelter.

I chose to live in this area because of the wonderful mix of neighbors and the closeness to the Quarter where I can walk to Mardi Gras or walk through the centuries old village on a quiet, misty morning. Many wonderful and talented artists, musicians, and other eclectic people live in the neighborhood making it an always inspirational place to visit or live.

What makes this property unique

There are many wonderful and relaxing ways to enjoy the guesthouse and yet be a quick walk to great bars and restaurants. During Mardi Gras, you can step out on the front porch to watch the pop up parades.
