We are centrally located between St. Petersburg, Clearwater, and Tampa. Universal, Disney World, Epcot, Hard Rock Casino, and Bush Gardens are just a short drive away.

So Lovely

We loved it here and wished we had more time to stay. The beach access was so convenient and the beach chairs, umbrellas and kick boards were a nice add. We saw a lot of small fish, a dolphin and a manatee during our beach day. The sunsets are gorgeous! The only thing missing was a pizza cutter, but no biggie! Hope to be back!

So much fun

It was absolutely wonderful. The location is great. Lots of good food and shopping near by. The beach was beautiful. The rooftop chairs and hot tub were lovely. The only thing that we had a hard time with was the stairs. Its a lot of stairs and my parents had a hard time getting up and down. But other than that we loved it.

Wonderful Beachfront Property

This townhouse on the beach was absolutely beautiful! The interior was very tastefully decorated and oh my!...those sunsets from the balconies! Loved it! The beach was never over crowded and there were ample chairs and umbrellas to use. My only pause would be the many stairs. There are quite a few steps to lug all of your supplies up, however, it is 100% worth the effort in order to get those amazing unobstructed views! Gorgeous place! Highly recommend it!

I can’t say enough great things about Sol-Mate. The condo is exactly as it appears in the photos. When we arrived, I couldn’t believe how clean it was. I’m quite fussy/picky too. The layout it great. It only took a day for us to feel like we were settled in. There seemed to be a place for all the things we bought so we didn’t feel we were living out of suitcases or tripping over things we brought. The triple sliding doors to the main balcony open all the way so you get some 12 feet of wide open fresh air overlooking the Gulf. Beautiful. I love to cook and I found the kitchen very well stocked pots, pans, grater, juicer, serving pieces, etc. . Also, the essentials to get you started (soap, dish soap, trash bag,s, TP, etc) was a nice touch. The condo is in a great location, close to the busier areas like St. Pete’s Beach and Clearwater Beach, yet far less traffic and noise. Biking is very easy and fun. You can bike to grocery store (2.5 miles,) Pickleball courts (3 miles) etc. . Was a great way to get around. The area is also very walkable. We never needed to turn on the AC as the breeze was all we needed. Sean and Jennifer are amazing hosts. The condo is decorated very tastefully. Really, we can’t say enough great things about our stay, the condo, location. Check out Dunedin to the north and Pass-a-grille, to the south. Both are great spots for a visit.. Also, check out Stans Tapas for dinner. Down the street a few miles.. Food was wonderful. We also bought fresh fish from Nachmans Seasfood Market (a few miles away) which was phenomenal and we bought ingredients to make a few dinners from Mazzaro’s Italian Market. They have wonderful fresh pastas, pizza, meats, sausages, bakery, cheeses, etc. A very fun visit. Note, doggos aren’t allowed on the beach. But, you can go to North Beach in Clearwater if your doggo wants to play on the beach and in water.

Really enjoyed this property. Nice upgrades in older building. Having sunset right outside on our balcony every night was heaven. Used the hot tub a few times too! Owners responsive via text. Gave good recommendations for restaurants. Salk Rock Grill & Guppy’s were our favorites!

Long Weekend Get Away

Took the family to Florida for a long weekend before the "k-adults" went back to college. This was a great place to stay. Beautiful view, well furnished, very clean and updated. We have 2 adult kids. Our daughter stayed in the upstairs bedroom area and though you can't see in the loft area, it is loud if there are people in the main room. The rooftop deck gave us great sunshine and views on some of the chilly days we had. The sunsets were PHENOMENAL! Highly recommend this unit and this owner!

Beautiful beach retreat

Views for days at this lovely little beach cottage. Our family of four enjoyed some cozy family time and lots of fresh sea air. The property was clean, very nicely updated and furnished and provided all the little extras travelers appreciate (laundry detergent, beach towels and toys, spices, etc.) We loved exploring Indian Shores and Indian Rocks Beach!

This unit is very nice. It's well equipped, nicely decorated and the location is wonderful! The only suggestion would be that the rooftop, with the jacuzzi be updated, a new jacuzzi cover is needed. Also, it would be nice if outdoor tables were added. We would stay at this property again!! The communication with the owners was great!

Nice property. Minor issues.

This is a very nice property in a very nice location. There were a few minor issues that I need to share to help the owner improve their property and to inform renters. It’s obvious that the owners put a lot of love into this nicely decorated beach themed property. However, the seat cushions on the living room and dining room chairs are thin, worn, uncomfortable. The metal blind cover at the sliding door extends down 4” and is a hazardous head-banger for tall people. No door on the master sink/dressing area with frosted glass door to toilet/shower makes it a challenge to not disrupt sleeping partners. Nothing you can do about it, but renters with any mobility issues should be aware. There are two full flights of steps to the unit (no elevator). Inside the unit, there are some awkward level changes in the master bathroom and guest bedroom. The owners were very responsive to an issue we had. Despite my comments, I would recommend this unit. Covered parking is nice. Great beach. Great views. Great sunsets.

Beautiful Condo With Room For Improvement

I am very conflicted about writing this review because there were so many things right, but also a lot of things wrong with the property. The first thing that was bothersome was no response to my communication inquiring about early check in. Just no response at all 3 weeks prior to check in. A reply explaining their check in policy would have been nice. THE STAIRS!! There is absolutely NO mention, in the condo description of the 3 flights of stairs that you must walk every time you leave and return to the condo. My husband has a leg injury and I have lung disease, so knowing that we'd have to walk those 3 flights of stairs would have been a deal breaker for us. Disclosing those stairs should have been a MUST. The towels in the unit were horrible. Very cheap and small. Bath sheets would have been nice. For the price we paid per night, a higher quality towel would have been appropriate. Being a beach condo, a handheld shower should be a must to get all the sand out of all the body crevices. The water pressure and the showerhead in the master bath was not sufficient at all and we'd wake up with sand all over the sheets. Speaking of sheets.. There was only 1 set of sheets per bed. No change of sheets was to be found anywhere in the unit. The kitchen was sparsely stocked with the cheapest pots and pans you can buy. The handles on the pans were lose and rusted. We actually had to go to Target to purchase nonstick pans to prepare bacon and eggs for our group. There was no pizza cutter, and the knives were dull and did not work. Some plastic glasses would have been nice to bring drinks down to the beach as well. Red solo cups don't cut it. Also, the closet with all of the beach gear was gross. Everything was musty and stank like mold. Our jacuzzi was green and smelly upon arrival and was unusable for 3 days. ( However was fixed promptly upon notifying them of the issue ) The thing that irritated us the most was the check in instructions to not have the air conditioner on colder than 78 degrees. How ridiculous is that? It's summer, in Florida and you threaten to charge a "service call fee" if the unit freezes if we turn the air colder than 78 degrees. I'm sorry but there is NO way I'm going to live for 10 days in Florida at 78 degrees. That should be disclosed in your listing and not sprung on us 3 days before check in. I've stayed in many rentals in Florida and for the money we spent, I doubt we'd return to this one.

My wife is from California and I am from Michigan. We met on a random road down the Pacific Coast Highway and the rest they say is history. We live in Tampa (just a short drive away) and are the proud parents of Finn who keeps us pretty busy.

Why they chose this property

My wife and I have always felt connected to the water and after Finn was born we found ourselves the beach constantly. I had been coming to Indian Shores since I moved down in 1998 and fell in love with the laid back family atmosphere it had to offer. So after searching for nearly two years...we found Sunplace. We fell in love instantly and knew this is where we wanted to make our family memories together. Since our schedules never let us use it as much as we like...we wanted to share it with others...to let our guests get a better understanding of why we think this is one of the best places on earth! Enjoy!

What makes this property unique

A large majority of the gulf front condos are cookie cutter - two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a small balcony located in a huge building. We wanted to buy a property that had character and was welcoming to our family and friends. We believe this property is one of the most unique on the beach - offering a tremendous amount of privacy with all the modern conveniences. But don't take our word for it...come see for yourself!
