Other things to note:

* The City of Hood River limits the number of nights Hosts are permitted to rent; unfortunately, this means that all requests cannot accepted. Requests that are friendly, respectful, indicate why you are coming to Hood River, and who is in your group are more likely to be accepted. Bonus points if you have a completed personal profile and/or 3 or more positive Host reviews.

** Children - There are not outlet covers, cabinet latches, barriers around the heating stove or baseboard heater. The kitchen island has glass cabinet doors.

*** There is one security camera mounted over the front entry to the Bungalow - it is oriented towards the driveway and entry.

Summer
1. June-September bookings requires a 3 night minimum stay.
2. June - September: Summer season is very busy with tight turn-around times, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate early check ins or late check outs during these months.
3. Weber Summit Silver Gas Grille (June-Sept Only)

Winter
1. For Winter stays, heat is provided by a gas heating stove, baseboard heater, and freestanding oil heater, which do a good job if used properly. The house is over 100 years old, so there is not central heat.
2. During times of heavy snow, the plow can make a berm in front of the driveway that must be either navigated or shoveled.

Great place to relax
The house was everything Drew told us it would be. Very warm and nicely updated yet quaint. We enjoyed our short stay and the park across the street was perfect for walking our dog. We would stay again

Charming, welcoming
We went to Hood River for my son's wedding. This charming home is located in a perfect location to get to all the the people, events, and stores very easily. The home had everything we needed - plus. Friends and family stopping by were envious of our great place!

Great experience overall
We rented this property for our vacation this year and the whole thing was just great. The house was clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable, my husband now wants a memory foam mattress. The neighborhood was quiet. It was a very peaceful stay. Drew is very helpful and we plan on coming back again. One of the nicer rentals we have stayed at.

Charming Bungalow
We loved our stay in Hood River! Great location to explore Mt Hood, white water rafting, orchards, hiking trails along the Columbia River Gorge, wineries and breweries. Even better location to walk to town for dining and shopping. Drew offered great dining recommendations. Loved Bette's Place for breakfast. Home was spacious with lots of character. Rocking chairs on the front porch were a great place to sit and relax with a beverage. Wish we had more time there!

Nice funky old home
Pretty much as advertised classic home with lots of original features. Would be fine for ski or surf stay. Steep walk downtown to shops & restaurants; Baths and stairs not great for older folks and definitely not ADA.

Great house in a great location
Five of us spent a girls' weekend at this location and had a great time. Hood River has so much to do and this house was perfect because it was so close to downtown we could walk there. The house is lovely--comfortable and very clean. It has a great porch where you can sit to drink your morning coffee or evening cocktail. Drew responded quickly to my emails, provided honest information about the house so we could decide whether we wanted to rent it, and checked with us on our arrival to see if we had any questions. We want to stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

Charming bungalow in Hood River!
My sister, mother and I stayed here for the weekend while getting reconnected after my mother had been away for the winter. We had a wonderful stay in this very comfortable home. Huge well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, sweet porch with rockers to sit and enjoy morning coffee and chats. The living room and dining room were really amenable to relaxing. Easy walk to town. I would definitely recommend this home to a friend, and hope to return again myself. It happened to be a very hot weekend, and the downstairs stayed very cool and comfortable. Upstairs, the house had a window unit in one room, and a portable fan in another, so we were able to stay cool at night. Drew was easy to communicate with by email, and we had no problems. Thank you for a lovely stay!

A wonderful experience
This is our first time using VRBO and I think we were spoiled! We visited Hood River for a family wedding. The Bungalow is charming and perfect for a Hood River retreat. We couldn't have asked for more. We will definitely plan to stay here again. The park across the street was wonderful for our kids and the charm of the house was delightful. Drew was amazing to work with. He was prompt in returning our questions and went above and beyond to make our stay truly special. There is even a lovely espresso machine which made morning coffee on the front porch extra delicious. :) The beds are comfortable and the bedding lovely. The house was clean and relaxing. Loved every moment. We'l be back!

A good home for adults or families with older children.
We were a group of two families with toddler girls that chose this home because it was across the street from Children's Park, it had a back yard and it was walking distance to downtown. Upon arrival, we saw that Children's Park was closing down THE WEEKEND that we chose to visit, so that didn't work well for us. The yard in the back could have been a great second option but the tree had dropped huge limbs and covered the entire yard making it unusable. But we did get the walking distance to downtown... The house in general was pretty roomy and had a really nice living area and dining area downstairs. If it had just been us adults I would have been able to give it more stars, but this is no house for toddlers! The stairs and floors upstairs were extremely loud and creaky so when putting the girls down for bed it was impossible to sneak away without waking them up. The upstairs bathroom door was over the stairwell and posed a scary hazard for little ones falling down the stairs. The bedroom doors do not click closed all the way. The bedrooms are tiny but the beds were relatively comfortable. The girls did enjoy baths in the claw foot tub. Location was ideal (except for the park being closed) for walking downtown. The front porch was a nice sunny spot to drink morning coffee. The house had most everything needed to stay for the weekend. (no laundry detergent, no extra toilet paper) I would recommend this home for a short stay, adults or families with older children only.

Darling House in Perfect Location
This was the perfect place to stay with our children, ages 6 and 3. Many happy hours were spent at the amazing playground across the street--how convenient! The house was cozy and welcoming. The kids loved the skylight in their room and we all loved breakfast by the wood stove on chilly spring mornings. Drew is a wonderful owner; he is so friendly and helpful. We could easily walk downtown and all around from this house--the perfect springboard from which to jump into the day's adventures. We would highly recommend this house to other travelers to the Hood River area. What a joy it was! --Tiffany, Central Washington State

Great location! Charming cozy bungalow!
We had a great stay. Perfect location, easy and beautiful walk to downtown. Cozy house (we live in a 100+ year old house too!) Lots of room for family (if we'd brought them). Comfy beds. Nice and quiet. Host was very helpful. Don't hesitate to ask how something works! Would definitely stay there again.

Charming, warm, and inviting.
This house was even more charming than the photos show. The owner was very pleasant and professional. His response time to any questions was immediate. We all loved the 100 year old Home and would love to stay there again. The house was so clean when we arrived and it was easy to feel welcomed. The house was in the perfect location for us, as we went into town often. Thank you Drew! We can’t wait to come again.

Great location and a charming house!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the downtown craftsman bungalow! It is in the perfect location, walking distance to downtown with a park across the street. It had it’s quirks, but as someone who loves older houses, it was well laid out and extremely charming. Drew was an excellent host! We called him a few times with questions and he picked up immediately and was very helpful.

Nice and comfortable!!!
This is a great place to stay, loved the gas fireplace to take the chill off and to sit in front of and drink coffee in the morning. Although it is two bathrooms only one had a shower, so it took a little planning in the morning or evening. Beds were super comfortable and the house was very welcoming!! Definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Hood River.

Hood River Bungalow-- Perfect for us!
I wanted to express our sincere thanks to Drew in sharing his property with us. It was our first trip to Oregon-- a destination wedding to Hood River. What a wonderful secret that little town is! We were happy to walk downtown (the hills were great exercise) to try some of the restaurant choices Drew recommended. We enjoyed exploring much of the area on foot-- no gym needed! It was so easy to walk and not be bothered with parking, etc. The vintage bungalow was cozy, clean and charming, and perfect for us. If you like vintage and character, this is your place. Due to the stairs, I would not recommend the bungalow for small children or those with mobility issues. Drew was a GREAT host-- extremely courteous and responsive. We had need to contact him with some questions and he responded immediately and made certain our issues were resolved. We would definitely stay at the bungalow again if visiting Hood River. Just a heads up though-- the children's park across the street is closed. Not sure if renovation is the reason, but guests with children will not be able to access that play area for awhile. If that is not an issue-- then put the bungalow high on your list of accommodations. Thanks again, Drew!!
