Charming and comfortable house in the heart of the medieval village
Olive oil, Italy's best wines, festivals, fresh food, blue flag beaches, stunning mountains, local crafts, museums, historic castles filled with folklore, holy sites and processions, and townspeople who readily take you into their hearts. This is the town of Cepagatti and its surroundings. On Monday you may hike the vast Campo Imperatore region and feel the peace and serenity of being alone with nature; on Thursday you may be swaying elbow to elbow with folks listening to world class blues or jazz in an open piazza. Abruzzo is a region of wonders and a world of discovery. It is just 2 hours east of Rome for convenient day trips to the Eternal City or access from its airport. The airport or train station in Pescara, the region's commercial capital, also affords easy access to Venice, Florence, Bologna, Ancona, Naples, and Milan, so you can combine a tour of Italy's bustling cities with the tranquility and authenticity of life lived for locals, not tourists.
The good position of the house offers the possibility to organize touristic visits in the most important places of historical, cultural and religios interest:
The archeological museum "CIVITELLA" in Chieti, the museum "DANNUNZIANO" in Pescara.
The "PARCO NAZIONALE D'ABRUZZO", the "PARCO NAZIONALE DEL GRAN SASSO", the "PARCO REGIONALE SIRENTE VELINO" and the "LAGA MOUNTAIN" are all natural trails.
The religios most interesting places are: SANTUARIO DI SAN CAMILLO" in Bucchianico, the "SANTUARIO DI SAN GABRIELE" Isola del Gran Sasso (Te), the "SANTUARIO DEL MIRACOLO EUCARISTICO" in Lanciano, the "SANTUARIO DELLA MADONNA DEI MIRACOLI" in Casalbordino, the "SANTUARIO DEL VOLTO SANTO" in Monoppello (Pe) and the beautiful "CHIESA DI SAN LIBERATORE" in Serramonacesca (Pe).
On 15 minutes from the mountain and sea well connected with roads and public transport, you find a beautiful and cozy house on 2 levels. It is proposed in a perfect blend of Alpine and Mediterranean, are in fact 130 km of the coast, which contrasts the two highest massifs of the Apennines: the Gran Sasso and the Majella .On tracing an overview of the main elements that characterize the Province of Pescara, one cannot but from the "treasures" historical-religious, archeological and natural scattered in the inner part of its territory, particularly in the areas included in the National Park Gran Sasso-Monti della Laga and in the Majella National Park. And 'here, in fact, that you will be fascinated by the many splendid abbeys (San Clemente a Casauria, with the famous portico of the abbot Leonate, San Liberatore a Maiella, enhanced by a spectacular floor mosaic of the twelfth century, Santa Maria di Arabona, with the tabernacle and the paschal candle valuable stored inside and St. Bartholomew, with the splendid decorations of its portal, just to mention the most famous), which played a decisive role in the economic development of the territory in which they arose, thanks to the great mobility of goods and people that favored between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. And it is still around the Majella (2,795 m.), Worshiped in ancient times as Mountain-Mother and defined by Petrarch "Domus Christi", hiding in the folds of his robes lush, spectacular and inaccessible retreats (S. Onofrio at Serramonacesca, S. Bartolomeo in Legio, S. Spirito a Majella, St. John all'Orfento, S. Onofrio all'Orfento, some of which also gave relief to the soul afflicted by Pietro da Morrone, before he became Pope Celestine V) and among the most important archaeological sites of the region (the Cave of Pigeons Bolognano, sacred to Hercules, where there is some evidence of cultic celebrations already in the Neolithic), rock tombs set in a fairy-tale landscape drawn from the river Alento and landscapes amazing natural beauty and wild (dell'Orfento Valley Nature Reserve and Nature Reserve Orta Valley). Obviously, from the point of view of tourism, Majella is of fundamental importance in the economy of the Province of Pescara. In fact, in addition to abbeys, monasteries, archeological sites and natural paradises already mentioned, in the piedmont and mountains of the small province are famous spas (Caramanico Terme and, to a lesser extent, Popoli) and charming medieval villages of incomparable beauty.
