About this property

Turn onto Buck Runs 1/4 mile long driveway and arrive at a secluded setting.There you will sit among 120 private acres. Buck Run sleeps 12. The highlight is the Great Room with large stone fireplace and vaulted ceiling. A full basement with outside entry has a bar, dart board and television with DVD player and WII system. High speed internet ,Internet basedTV (Youtube TV, Hulu ect.)in 3 rooms and DVD player on main level round out the electronic entertainment. At the top of the driveway you will find a building with our Ping Pong Room. Enjoy the Weber Genesis Gas grill with the first tank of gas on us. The Fire Pit is great place to relax and start the story tellin! There are 2 miles of winding trails for hiking, biking and XC skiing. We have 2 options for linens and towels. 1. Bring your own. 2. We provide for all beds at $75 for the stay. Buck Run is a large property but we DO NOT allow the shooting of firearms of any kind. Also due to insurance reasons we DO NOT allow ATV's at Buck Run.
Our beautiful spring fed pond offers fishing and swimming and features a dock with benches and a wide step ladder. The front porch has a wonderful view of the pond and is the perfect place to watch the sunrise with your first cup of coffee.
Primary guests must be at least 30yrs old. We are a family property and do not allow Bachelor or Bachelorette parties.

Beautiful Property

We have stayed here several times in the winter but decided to take a weekend family retreat in the summer. It was beyond beautiful. We played cornhole in the yard and our 4 year old grandson was thrilled to catch his first fish. We ended the day of course roasting marshmallows around the firepit. The porches are great to sit and relax. It was a perfect weekend. All the comforts of home and easy to access.

We Love this place

What a beautiful property, we spent too much time away from it hiking and biking and kayaking.... we want to come back to just stay on the property! This place was amazing, perfect for 12 friends and kids!

My husband and I, my college friends and their kids decided to get together for a weekend to go to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon and Cherry Springs. I’m so glad we found this property, it was amazing and had all kinds of walking trails. The kids took the canoe out on the pond and my husband caught a bunch of fish. We walked along the creek and the trails and found blooming wildflowers, lots of birds and heard quite a few owls. The set up of the three stories of this log cabin was great for getting some privacy. We maxed out with 12 people and everyone had a place to sleep. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals, and despite the fact it rained most of the time we were there, we had a great time, playing games and hanging out on the porches who looking at the view. The hosts were very accommodating and responsive to any questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Winter weekend retreat

This cabin is our "go to" every winter to relax and escape life. We gather around the fireplace to eat, drink and laugh with friends. Usually deer to watch from the window and the trail makes for a beautiful winter walk. Cabin has all the "bells and whistles" so cooking meals is easy. We love that it is secluded and yet easy access to highway. Can't wait to visit this summer.

Nature galore with all the comforts!

My family stayed for a long weekend and had a great time! There are many well maintained trials to explore in the woods and the pond makes a great place to relax! Our boys had so much fun playing ping pong and making campfires in the fire pit. And I’m sure our dog had the best time of his life!

Beautiful property!

Property was well kept and very roomy. The maintained trails were exceptional! Wonderful pine forest with fresh pine smell. Only negative for me was the sound of traffic from Route 15 and 414.

minor problems

We loved the cabin. Really had a great time. Only complaints we have is the power went out for a little time and when we arrived there were not enough beddings for all the beds. One big complaint is the firepit was to far from the cabin an downhill . So we couldn't enjoy it. hosts were excellent and took immediate action to our problems. Ty Ray and Melanie.

Wessner Family Weekend

It was FANTASTIC! Your property is something out of a dream! We are a very outdoors family so it was just perfect for us. Did a 4.5 mile hike on Briar mountain, then came back to the house to relax, fish, cook and have an epic ping pong tournament. We laughed until we cried! We hope to be blessed to be able to come back!

Quiet, relaxing and private stay

Lovely place! Enjoyed the privacy including the woods and pond. Kitchen had everything we needed with up to date appliances. Enjoyed use of the grill on back porch. Nice to have 3 queen rooms. Appreciated that we could include our golden retriever. Location is convenient to Pine river access for kayaking, the Pine Creek rail trail, National Park and close to Wellsboro. Up to date appliances and grill. Owners, Ray & Melanie were wonderful to communicate with. We would love to stay again sometime.

Private, spacious, fun!

The house was clean and beautiful. Plenty of room for everyone, including our two dogs. The pond was wonderful. The fire pit was fun. The trails were great to walk with the dogs. The separate building with the ping pong table was a blast. I would highly recommend this house to anyone that loves the outdoors!

Mom Kid trip party of 11

This glorious cabin was better than pictures! We used this rental as a base for hiking and exploring. The mom and kids loved it and the pond. We ate fished boated and swam. Great time! So many memories made.

Great getaway

The property was incredible. We enjoyed every minute. The hiking trails on the property and in the state parks were unbelievably beautiful. We had a bit of an issue with the grill that was provided and we did waste a day trying to remedy that but our host did come through with a brand new grill for us. We will definitely go back.

A quick weekend getaway from the normal hustle and bustle of life.

Pretty much how it was described. The cabin and grounds were beautiful. I would love to come back when there isn't 8 inches of snow and explore more, although it was wonderful even with the snowstorm. Extremely pleased and we had a wonderful time!

You couldn't ask for a better house or host!

What a fabulous place! The property is beautiful, and the house is comfortable, clean, well-appointed, and organized. And I can't say enough good things about the hosts, Ray and Melanie (and their property manager and cleaning crew!). Half of our family got stuck in Western New York's blizzard, and they were so kind and accommodating as our arrival plans shifted by the hour. Although some of us got there a few days later than planned, we had just enough time to enjoy sledding, board games, and a lovely evening by the fire. We'll be back for sure!

Cozy place.

Cute place with great views and a straight shot to Wellsboro. Bunks I’m sure would be fine for kids but definitely not comfortable for adults. Single beds in the bunk rooms could also stand to be updated. Otherwise it’s a great location on a fantastic piece of property. We would book again but with less people to avoid having to use the bunk rooms.

Great Thanksgiving trip! We really enjoyed the layout, the fireplace. Kids loved the frozen pond, we loved the hiking trails. Kitchen is fully stocked, beautiful new appliances.

Great place for hiking

Had several friends meet up at Buck Run. What a perfect setting!! We planned several hiking trips and were really surprised at the quality of the trails on this property. The kitchen was well stocked and property owners were responsive to any questions we had. We really enjoyed the fireplace and the fact there was plenty of wood along with gas for the grilll. We grilled outside every night. Great place to hang out and catch up with friends.

Five stars!

We had a short but amazing weekend at Buck Run! The cabin is beautiful and the location is just about perfect. Very close to stores and gas but very secluded. Martin's Pantry is a great little store for bulk food and with a deli, ice cream, bakery, and to-go meals and is only 7 minutes away. The trails around the property are well maintained and easy for walking. Our two dogs absolutely loved the freedom outside and all the new sights and smells. We spent most of our time relaxing in front of the fireplace or walking the trails with the dogs. The kids loved having the lower floor to themselves and had fun in the ping pong room. We would love to come back again so that we can spend some time at the pond and enjoy the firepit. We have stayed in a lot of rentals and Buck Run is definitely one of the best! Thank you Ray and Melanie!
