This place is outstandingly beautiful. With its rich overtones of green brushes and trees surrounding the home, there is a balance between relaxation and revitalization. Call it what you will, a confluence of grandeur and perseverance, this place is no less than pure awesomeness. Tucked away in the Onomea Farms on a 20 acre lot rests a little (okay not so little) home of pure happiness. Yes there is a waterfall. Yes, they have tiki torches. Yes, no wifi (and that is a good thing). Screw the Turtle Bay Resort or the Four Seasons, this my friends is the five star you've been waiting. No butlers here, no waiting staff or concierge and in truth, you'll be glad you didn't stay at the Ritz or Fairmont Orchid. Did our family enjoy the Hilo outings? Yes. Did we enjoy the volcano tour? Of course we did. But knowing in the back of our minds, we looked forward to returning home (for a week any way). Oh we cooked everyday there (though we loved Ken's Pancake House). Stopping at the local KTA gave us pure enjoyment as we searched for the best spam musubi or poke. No Wholefoods here, KTA has everything. The view from home (and yes I call it home) feels like we stopped in time. Taking it all in no less. And I for one, have lots of time to soak in.
