About this property

Our apartments are located in Piazza Beccaria, focal point of a major urban renewal program, by Giuseppe Poggi, initiated during the brief period when Florence was capital of Italy (1865-1871).

Piazza Beccaria, backdrop of monumental taste, the fulcrum of which is a medieval tower surrounded by a number of imposing palaces with a concave neoclassical facade. In one of these elegant palaces are hosted our apartments.

Our apartments are located in Piazza Beccaria, the focal point of the urban renewal of Florence, capital of Italy since 1865 by the architect Giuseppe Poggi.

The square, scenographic backdrop of monumental taste, is characterized by a medieval tower in the center surrounded by a series of buildings with concave facades in neoclassical style and it is precisely in one of these elegant buildings that our apartments are located.

Host cancelled on our day of arrival

The host cancelled our booking on the day of our arrival (we were travelling by train to Florence when we discovered this). It was very stressful especially as it was New Year’s Eve and we were travelling with children. Stayz found alternative accommodation but we would not like to experience this situation again.

Communication doesn't exist

Property is in an awesome location and the view from the little balcony was spectacular. You have keys to 2 doors for the appartment, Lorenze neglected to tell us that the door before ours in the entry was booked so imagine my husband surprise when a young man was standing in our entry. Unfortunately Lorenze dosnt answer any communication you send him once you check in. Our toilet seat was broken in half on 1 side. He didnt respond to my request for the WIFI details even though I sent several messages to him, there was no TV remote and on checkout,I messaged him the night before to find out the check out process and surprise surprise no response. I messaged him again on the morning of checkout advising him that we just left the keys in the kitchen as he hadnt bothered to advise us the checkout process.

The real thing is even better than the pictures! Loved this place!

We had a wonderful experience staying at Lorenzo’s place. The rooms were large and the whole apartment was well appointed. It was a very comfortable stay and only an easy 10-15min walking distance to city centre. The view of the Duomo from the lounge/dining area was truly spectacular. We would definitely stay again. Thanks Lorenzo!

Three Sisters Trip

Rachelle (Laurenzo's girlfriend) checked us in and was very nice. We arrived in Florence just after noon and was fortunate enough to be able to check right in once we got there. We were a bit confused when we got there because the address once you click "get directions" in the VRBO app was different than the actual address. The map said 17 when it's actually #4. Location is great, view from the terrace is great, we only have a few recommendations to make the place 5 star. When we arrived there was a towel on the floor in front of the washing machine. As it turns out there was a leak somewhere that was constant. Not a big deal but it would have been nice to have been told about it. We had to keep switching out the towel as it kept getting saturated. Someone mentioned in a previous review about the dishwasher. Likely needs a good cleaning because it smells like something died in there. Lots of dishes except drinking cups and no wine glasses. only sherry glasses. As well not enough coffee cups. Communication wise Rachelle was very prompt. There was no clothes hanger for drying clothes, she made sure we had one the next day. My one sister stayed in the one day with a cold. Rachelle was supposed to come in that day to collect the taxes from us and offered to bring her some tea to help her feel better, very appreciated. We lost hydro one evening due to a blown breaker, she responded promptly and walked me through re-setting it.

A beautiful spot!

This is a really beautiful property with an absolutely stunning view of the Duomo. Your evening photos will be instaworthy for sure. A 20-minute walk into the very middle of the city. Take minibus C2 from the front of the train station right to the door of the apartment. We would have appreciated more than one roll of toilet paper for 3 days and I didn't much like paying twice for cleaning but the property is wonderful.

Great place to stay!

We loved it. The view of the Duomo was amazing I slept in that room with the shudders open so I could go to sleep and wake up to the view. What adds to it is that Florence has a new transit service that has a stop just outside the door. One of the Vans goes to the Ponte Vecchio and the Other drops you off at the Dion and also has a stop at the train station. Thank you again Lorenzo.

This was the worst experience we have ever had at a VRBO.

We did not receive instructions as to how to get in. As we trudged through the streets in the darkness of night, lugging suitcases, sweating, exhausted after a long day of travel, we arrived to the address (reluctantly given) with no instructions. Eventually I realized he had sent them via WhatsApp (without telling me). When we finally got in (darkest staircase in the history of the world) we had a 1/4 roll of toilet paper (for all 5 of us for 4 days), watered down soap that did not even resemble soap, NO AC and a stench that resembled a dead body. When we investigated the stench, we discovered they’d not run the dishwasher since God-knows-when. The laundry soap also was so disgusting we had to put it on the balcony. Here’s a highlight. The window that shows the Duomo (as pictured) was in fact, cute. We would love to show you the text stream that ensued, begging for the AC to be fixed and the massive amount of mosquito bites we are now covered in because it took him two days to give us batteries that worked. (He replaced them with dead batteries the first night.) Not only were we eaten alive, but we got ZERO sleep because of the noise below that continued through the wee hours of the morning. There are (as described) barely 4 glasses in the entire unit (none of them matching), no handles on the cabinet where the dishes/utensils are stored, not a single paper towel…. not even a grain of salt or pepper.

Great view, amazing appartment, poorly organised

Having messaged multiple times in advance of arriving we had no reply until we were informed Lorenzo that we were en route from the airport. At this point we were given the entrance instructions, which was a great relief as we’d been concerned that we may be left with no place to stay on arrival! The appartment itself is gorgeous, perfect for what we needed and the location is ideal for a city break, the view of the Duomo unmatched! There were no remotes for the air conditioning (so couldnt be used) and not much in the way of basic necessities (no salt or pepper!) however upon meeting Lorenzo he was kind and welcoming. We had some trouble with mosquitoes so highly recommend investing in some preventative measures prior to arriving. The toilet seat has been fixed at least! We had a lovely time in Florence, can’t wait to visit again!

This could be a little gem.

The view and location of this apartment are fantastic. This could be a 5* accommodation, however the apartment needs some tlc. Only 3 cups and glasses, none matched. Dirty dish cloth left, only one toilet roll for 3 people. Drawers were dirty and rubbish left in them. Broken kettle, ironing board and toilet seat held together with duck tape. Bedding and towels were clean, but the bedding in the cupboard was dirty. We paid for cleaning when we booked but were asked for more money along with the tourist tax, which we queried and subsequently didn’t pay, but I guess some people have. It would have worked out expensive for cleaning. We only used the apartment for sleeping and we would have been very unhappy if we were going to cook there as the cupboards are a mess, stuff is just shoved in. Communication with the host was done over text messaging and everything worked well with collecting the key and leaving the tourist taxes. The pictures and presentation of the apartment are not what you get unfortunately. But overall if you just want somewhere to lay your head when exploring this beautiful city then the location and view from this apartment are amazing.

Florence Apartment

The apartment is nice and spacious. I have seen some other reviews about the toilet seat being cracked (still there, but it was duct-taped). The communication with the owner was fine although, like so many other VRBOs, it is last minute on location and directions. It is a 10-minute walk to the Duomo but about a 30-minute walk from the train station and 20 minutes from Uffizi and shopping. We certainly got our steps in the two days we were there.

Loved Florence - VRBO was functional

My wife & I (mid-50s) were traveling with our adult son (mid 20s). We arrived a little before scheduled checkin on Sunday & the host was very kind to let us in a little early. The VRBO was functional & had a decent location with good public transit access. It was a little cold but the bedrooms were a good size and the upstairs had a very nice view of the Duomo. Our only complaint is with the bathroom. The toilet seat was cracked and would pinch you when you sat on it. According to previous reviews the seat had been cracked for at least a few weeks - plenty of time to be replaced. And, the shower was very small and difficult to use with the shower floor drain often backing up so you were standing in quite a bit of water. We had a great trip to Florence & the VRBO was functional for the 3 of us.

An amazing experience!

We had an amazing stay Evaluna Duomo View! The accommodations are exactly as the pictures with an amazing view over the city. It was a great location and just minutes from great restaurants and attractions. Check in was easy and the host was quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again!

Great location. Several small challenges

This could easily be a 5* rental. It needs some love and some upgrades. Location is amazing. There is parking nearby not in a ZTL. Very walkable. Amazing view of Firenze from balcony window. Now the reality. The communication with owner is poor at best. No one is there to meet you to let you into the apartment or provide guidance. Communication was all thru text, with complicated instructions how to get into the apartment. ZERO communication when asking about check out procedure. Never received a response despite multiple messages. Many things in the apartment are broken or don’t function. The large armoire door was broken and almost injured my wife when it fell in. The toilet seat was cracked and that made sittting on it a challenge. All there was one roll of cheap toilet paper, we bought some new tp to use. The wifi connection is a challenge…like 24 random characters if you’re trying to login from a laptop. Many of the drawer knobs in the kitchen and dining area are missing or broken. There is only one small try for ice. Couches are not very comfortable to sit on, but you aren’t in Firenze to sit around. The whole apartment has a musty odor. But you can’t beat the view or the location in Florence. If you can live with the short comings, it definitely has advantages. Coffee shop on corner, bakery 1 block away, and a grocery store less than 2 blocks. Quiet and very little traffic or pedestrian noise. 6.5/10 rating.

Beautiful property

Very nicely-situated flat only a pleasant 20-minute-walk from the Duomo, airconditionining was working perfectly, but the best was certainly the view over the rooftops of Florence - we couldn't get enough of the view!

Bom mas ...

Nice and spacious apartament, just like in the pictures. The apartement is divided in 2 floors. Nice beds and pillows. Funny elevator :) But there was no toilet paper, no garbage bags neither a lidded bin, no dishwasher machine detergent and no shower gel. Need blackouts.

Great location, amazing view…needs some love

The flat was well located about 10 mins from the Duomo and center of town. The neighborhood was lovely with lots of cafes, shops and a good Coop. The flat was generally clean, beds were comfortable and the view from the balcony was spectacular…we spent our evenings looking out over the city with a glass of wine. The only real moans we have are that the kitchen was poorly stocked and most crockery was dirty, the shower was cold most of the time and that communication with the owner was all very last minute…I had some questions in the days before that just went unanswered. To summarize, this is a great bolt hole for a few days, with an amazing view, that just needs some updating and love!

The Best of Florence!!

The pictures do not do it justice!! It's a two level spacious and comfortable apartment. The view is absolutely spectacular with the sunset!! It's very close to shopping, restaurants and a gelato place right around the corner. We should have stayed longer in Florence.

Une vue magnifique

L’appartement est splendide. Toutefois, le contact avec l’hôte a été laborieux. Aucune réponse les semaines précédentes sur le site de Vrbo. Ce n’est que la veille où j’ai réussi à le joindre au téléphone. Le jour de notre arrivée, nous avons pu laisser nos bagages dans l’appartement avant le check-in, ce qui a été apprécié. L’emplacement de l’appartement est stratégique, près de la gare Campo Marte et d’arrêts d’autobus. La vue est à couper le souffle et les chambres sont magnifiques. Pensez à apporter du papier de toilette, du savon et un linge à vaisselle comme il n’y en avait pas. Un ascenseur vous permet de vous rendre au 3eme étage, ce qui est agréable.

Comfortable stay

The appartment is all that previous reviews have stated - certainly the view is the wow factor . Spacious , clean living quarters . I think that an overall welcome book with instructions on where to place rubbish at the end of the stay ; what to do with the keys ; the fact that you cant overload the electrics otherwise it might trip the kettle - general housekeeping rules or advice would be helpful .
