We couldn't have found a better home and location for our four week stay. Where butterflies do fly!
Santa Fe is one of the most unique towns in the US. Museums, gallery's (with excellent artists), restaurants, shopping and of course the friendly atmosphere. But, there is this and so much more when you can live in an adobe home just outside of town in one of the nations largest sustainable communities. Nina and Tom's home is sited on 1 1/2 acres of naturally landscaped property where your neighbors are just far enough away you think you are on a ranch. One of the most wonderful aspects of this home is that there are two walled patios (north and south) heavily landscaped with native flowering vegetation - ie.. "Where the Butterflies Fly". After a day of sightseeing, this is where we would relax.
Additionally, as each day began and ended the skies were drop dead gorgeous. The both of us have traveled to many parts of the world and neither of us have ever been exposed to the beauty and drama of the central New Mexico sky. Sunrise and sunset - everyday. Magic!
The home itself lived up to the advertisement: from location, spaces and amenities to appliances, furnishings, and tableware. All bed and bath necessities were provided and there was plenty of closet and storage space for our personal items. Nina and Tom contacted us several times to see if we needed anything and to let us know they were available. The social spaces such as the living room, kitchen/dining etc.. were functional and very comfortable. Loved the garage with automatic door opener - nice touch. Skylights brought natural light into internal spaces complimenting those spaces with windows. So there's an abundance of interior natural light.
A notebook is provided outlining many of the businesses and activities available close-by including restaurants, shopping, hiking, grocery shopping and other services. Nina and Tom have their favorites (especially restaurants). Take advantage of this - we did.
We highly recommend "Where the Butterflies Fly"!
