Amazing apartment

The design, look, and layout were amazing. It is clear that the recently renovated apartment was done with care and an attention to detail. One block away from the monetary is an added benefit.

There were areas in the bathroom and washing machine that were mouldy. Struggled to turn the lights on which isn’t ideal when arriving in the dark. No fly screens which wouldn’t be a problem if mosquitoes weren’t attracted to you.

Wonderful place to stay in Girona

Well, we could just move into this apartment. It was spacious and comfortable and perfectly located. The view from the terrace was priceless with the cathedral and Sant Feliu in the background. We were close to everything exciting. The decor was cool. It was a bit hot by the end of the day, so AC or more effective fans would have been useful, but we opened the windows for the night, and the apartment cooled down pretty good by the morning. We would definitely come back. We were very sad to leave.

Super Place

We had a great weeklong stay at Shelley's property. We know that rentals in Europe (and elsewhere) can be a bit "adventurous". In this case we found that Shelley's descriptions of the property are if anything understated. The view cannot adequately be described and must be experienced to be truly appreciated. The location fits into the same category. She has done a top notch job with the loft's renovation and the features, accessories and amenities are excellent. We found the loft to be very clean and we had an easy time communicating with Shelley both to rent and to occupy the unit. Why visit the Girona area? Over years of traveling through much of Mediterranean Italy, France and Spain it has become our favorite Euro destination. Girona is atmospheric, lively, historic, cultured, walkable (also hiking and mountain biking trails begin just below Shelley's loft), with good food at fair prices and friendly, accommodating locals. It is a "real", working, small city that is not overrun by tourists. Further its location is ideal; a short distance to the east is a beautiful coastline with characteristic seaside villages, to the west are the uplands of the Garrotxa. In between are stunning agricultural and forested areas dotted with quaint towns, hamlets, and ancient ruins. We can hardly wait to return next year.

Great apartment in lovely corner of Girona

The loft is very well designed and equipped. The view from the balcony is stunning. Just on the edge of the old town and the village of San Daniele is a fabulous location. Top place. Only tiny quibble would be that it gets very warm indoors in the heat of August but three fans supplied help deal with that.

Beautiful apartment in an ideal location

My wife and I stayed in this property for three nights, during our vacation in Catalonia, and it was perfect for our needs. The kitchen was well-equipped, the bedroom and living area was very comfortable, the washer and dryer came in handy, and the balcony overlooking Girona's old town was a perfect place for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. The old town was an easy five-minute walk, and we enjoyed the restaurants, the churches, the museums, the shops...and simply wandering through the streets. It was a perfect place to spend three days without need for a car, and the apartment was an ideal place to retire in the evening. We hope to be back some day!

Terrific!

We spent 5 nights at Shelley's lovely apartment. It is just as nice as the photos, very convenient for getting into town, and just a few minutes walk from a fabulous restaurant, Cul del Mon. The overall feel is of being in the country, although town is a 5 minute walk away, the train station only a mile. We hope to return!

Beautiful Girona

The apartment was great. The owner provided information for us on the town and was there to greet us during arrival. We enjoyed the accommodations. We did not cook at all in the apartment because all of the great restaurants were located within walking distance. We had ample parking for our bikes on the first floor stairwell so they were secure and dry without having to carry them upstairs. The property was located close to everything in the Old Town section and provided beautiful views from the terrace and roof deck of the area. I highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to spend time in Girona for any reason. Please stop by La Fabrica or Espresso Mafia for outstanding coffee or baked goods! We can't wait to come back for more.

Super séjour à Gérone dans un loft atypique

Loft style newyorkais, idéalement situé dans Gérone (à 5 min de la cathédrale et du centre historique) ainsi que de toute commodités (bars, cafés, restos, piscine...) Propriétaire très sympathique et arrangeante. Quartier très calme. L'équipement du loft est parfait (cuisine, salle de bain, ventilateur). Il y a une réelle âme dans l'appartement pas juste une décoration pour touriste ex: bibliothèque, DVD, déco. A recommander sans hésitation pour un séjour ou une semaine pour découvrir cette magnifique ville. Si vous venez en voiture le stationnement se fait dans une rue très en pente.

We want to come back and live in the Loft Apartment in Girona!

What more can we say. We stayed in the Loft Apartment mid-April to mid-May of this year and loved the apartment, Girona, and surrounding area. The overview of the Loft Apartment on VRBO is spot on. We came to Girona for the cycling and it exceeded our expectations. We cycled 30-90 miles a day, in all directions from town, including to the coast. We also enjoyed the culture, food, and people of Girona, and the hospitality of Shelley, the owner. We spent the whole month without needing or wanting a car as the Loft Apartment is a short walk to town, markets, patisserias, restaurants, train station, etc. The loft is located in a quiet residential area which was a definite plus - particularly during the flower festival when the streets of the old town were filled with tourists including ourselves. We miss sitting on the balcony after a good day of cycling, sipping a beer, soaking up the sun, and taking in the views. We will be back and intend to stay in the Loft Apartment.

maravilloso.

no tengo palabras para describir lo bien que se sienten estar ahí. la conminación de diseño, naturaleza y una hermosa energía, hace que ese lugar te envuelva en una magia inolvidable. este es el lugar perfecto para los que quieren estar a pocos pasos del centro de gerona pero desconectados y rodeados de naturaleza. su dueña, aparte de ser una persona muy guapa, cuenta con una simpatía, amabilidad y buen gusto que se ve reflejado que se ve reflejado en cada rincón de ese espacio. gracias loft san daniel, si fuera por mi, iría cada fin de semana.

Lovely place

We had the top appartement with terrace and thoroughly enjoyed it. Magnificent views and at the best location possible, right near the old city center - yet quiet and peaceful. Shelley is a very friendly, knowledgeable host.

Perfect in every way: A week was not long enough to explore this beautiful area!

We based our third road bike trip in Spain out of the lovely Lofts Sant Daniel and wished we could have stayed longer. From the fantastic views and perfect location, to the beautiful art work and sculptures(best nightlights ever!), and a well equipped kitchen; Shelley's loft exceeded all our expectations. Girona is a fascinating city(best explored by foot and the Loft location makes it easy to walk everywhere). There is great road cycling in all directions, and a week was not nearly enough to thoroughly explore both Girona and the Costa Brava. Shelley is a fantastic host: helpful but not intrusive. We would love to return and spend a month.

Wonderful place to stay

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Shelley's. Girona is a beautiful city and Shelley's loft is just steps away from the cobbled streets of the old city. The loft is beautiful and bright with the morning sun streaming in the windows. We were there primarily for the road cycling and we were not disappointed. Never have we cycled on roads where the motorists were so respectful and accommodating. Girona and it's surrounding roads are cycling heaven. Shelley was attentive and very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend my friends and family stay here and we are sure to return to Shelley's loft as well.

Un loft exceptionnel

Nous avons réservé le loft de Shelley pour les fêtes de fin d'année avec des amis. Nous étions 4 adultes et 3 enfants. Le séjour s'est très bien passé et Gérone (ou Girona) est une ville magnifique, à découvrir sans hésiter La propriétaire Shelley est une personne très agréable, disponible et qui parle très bien français, ce qui est un plus... Le loft est très bien aménagé, style industriel, les équipements sont nombreux et de qualité, une terrasse plein sud face à la forêt et avec vue sur la cathédrale !!! Sa situation est idéale et proche du centre ancien avec cathédrale, rempart, commerces, musée, à découvrir à deux pas... tout en étant situé dans un quartier très calme (Sant Daniel). Seul petit bémol la présence du grand lit dans la grande pièce de vie (séjour) : l'intimité reste limitée pour ceux qui s'y trouve La Catalogne est toujours aussi vivante, accueillante et les produits typiques ne manquent pas... Nous pourrons revenir pour en découvrir encore quelques uns !!!

Excellent base for both the town and the region; but you will want to stay home and enjoy the loft.

We loved everything about this place; owner has a beautiful esthetic that permeates the unit. We were three artist/architects and this loft checked all the boxes. Well equipped kitchen, large comfortable dining area; a single private bedroom and a second full bed in the primary living space. Worked fine for a couple + a friend. Used loft as a base for exploring Girona on foot (sights start right outside the front door) and provided easy, convenient parking to allow runs to the coast. Shelley is a pro; lots of info for travelers in the loft and personal recommendations in the neighborhood revealed several winners. She was away but we felt her presence in the unit; her support staff was excellent. Any return to Catalonia will include a return!

Luxurious loft in a peaceful part of town. Just perfect!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in the 1st floor loft and agree that it was one of the best rentals we've ever stayed in...just perfect! Such a comfortable spacious place with everything you could possibly need. It's in an ideal location...near enough to town (less than 5 mins walk), yet away from it all for peace and quiet. The views from the balcony and the roof terrace are amazing - the valley is lush and green and you could never tire of the hourly bell ringing from the impressive cathedral. Shelley is a perfect host - extremely helpful and friendly. We are already planning our return! Thanks for a fabulous week!

Quiet and convenient

We stayed in the 3rd floor loft with the large rooftop terrace. The apartment was well equipped and a nice size for a couple. The location was just what we were looking for, quiet but close to everything we need. The trail and ravine across the road was easy access to hiking and was a great view from the terrace. Shelley went out of her way to make sure our stay was enjoyable. We will be back!!

Great place to stay in Girona

It's all been said already, really. This is just a fantastic spot to stay if you're visiting Girona. We had six nights in the apartment and it was just perfect for our needs. We had a car so we could visit the nearby area and we always found parking close by. When we wanted to go into the centre of Girona, that was only a short walk away. Shelley is the perfect host and the apartment is really comfortable and relaxing, There are a few stairs to climb (not many) and street access is steep, so it won't suit everyone but it was perfect for us. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

Location, location, location!

We know Girona reasonably well. We've stayed in the old town three times and made many day trips over the years. But Sant Daniel was a revelation...the most perfect location for a stay in this truly lovely city. Literally no more than 5 minutes walk to the edge of the old town and located overlooking a wooded hillside, behind Girona's huge cathedral, this loft apartment was just a fabulous place to stay. Quiet at night, so a good night's sleep is not a problem, Shelley's apartment was extremely well-equipped, very spacious and really comfortable. The kitchen/diner is fantastic and a step up from what you would normally expect in a vacation apartment, so if you like cooking, its a pleasure to do so here. We came to Girona to spend a relaxing 5 days and this apartment was the perfect base for this. We did have a rental car as we wanted to re-visit places with fond memories on the coast, but you certainly don't need a car. Highly recommended.

Awesome stay

The pictures on the web didn't do justice to the amazing roof terrace apartment we stayed in overlooking the cathedral. Not only was it wonderfully clean but also had all those little extras (salt, oil, garlic etc) that make the difference in a holiday let. Shelley the hostess was awesome and full of local knowledge so we were able to get off the tourist track and eat like a local. The fact that it is a 5 min walk into town - if that - meant it was great just popping to town and home again a couple of times a day - we didn't bother hiring a car. We definitely will be back especially after seeing her other apartment for rent which was equally gorgeous and full of character. Thanks for a fantastic stay.

Magical!!

Dear Shelly, I was going to write a review about the wonderful time we had at the roof top terrace apartment this past summer, but your past reviews said it all!!! I just can add that there is not a better place to relax, have a glass of wine, enjoy the view, and hear the church bells ring over and over again!!!! We can't wait to be back. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us, that was the best part of our trip!!
