The Lazio region: The Lazio region, birthplace of two of mankind’s greatest institutions, the Roman Empire and the Catholic Church, is dominated and largely defined by its capital, Rome. Since ancient Roman times the region has been an extension of the city, where noble Roman families created their own towns and the wealthy built their villas in the surrounding countryside. Lazio is a treasure trove of the remains of age old civilizations: bridges, churches, towers, villas, monasteries, aqueducts, arches — the list is endless. To the north of Rome are Etruscan sites and the tombs of Tarquinia, founded in the 12th century BC. The ruins of Ostia Antica, a 4th century BC port city at the mouth of the Tiber are located west of the city, with delightful beaches nearby. East of Rome toward the mountains is Tivoli, a favourite retreat for the wealthy at the height of the Roman Empire. Visit the remains of Hadrian’s Villa, completed in 134 AD, and the beautiful fountains and gardens of the Villa d’Este.

Great place and location, but poor wifi

My teenage children and enjoyed being in this location, very central to everything, including Rome central station. The apartment was clean and very pretty, also liked staying here. Andrea and Maria were great host, helping when they could. The only issue I have of this place was wifi! It is very poor and need to be upgrade either by change of server, like telecoms and or modem for DSL high speed. Otherwise I recommend this place to all!

A Haven in Rome

We spent a wonderful 8 days in this great apartment. The host Andrea and his assistant Maria were very friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful with following up on lost luggage. Our apartment was very comfortable, clean and very well furnished and equipped . The courtyard was a delight, the location was really good, near the Colloseum and lots of shops, public transport and a supermarket nearby. We could easily get to all the places we wished to visit walking or using the bus or train. We would recommend this apartment to any couple or small family and will stay there next time we visit Rome Thankyou Andrea and Maria Catherine Watmough

Host is super!

The host was a really nice man and made sure to come and meet us and give us some great ideas to make our stay even better! Little things were a bit of a miss and I am a bit picky so bear with me. The place needs a woman’s touch. When we arrived there was no hand soap in the bathroom, no paper towel, napkins, and only 1 soap pod for the washing Also there needs to be a new set of knives, and the wine opener was broken. Again these are little things. But as a woman I find them important. The hosts personality made up for this. The place needed to be cleaned a little better but other than these things it was pleasent. Just a few things would have made all the difference.

Great location.

Clean, comfortable beads, affordable, in a great location. We stayed 4 nights, a family of 3. Cooked almost all our meals there (breakfast and dinner). The Grocery store, transportation ticket store, bus stop, all where just crossing the street. We walked almost every day everywhere!! Just a few blocks from the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, Capitol Hill to one side….the Baths of Caracara on the other side…what a great time in Rome!! Communication with owner was easy and immediate. And the A/C worked any time we needed it. Thank you Andrea!

Our host was very welcoming and acclimated us to the property, the neighborhood, and transportation. He provided maps and recommendations for a nearby pizzeria that was fantastic. The location was very walkable to the must see sights in Rome and the apartment was very clean and had the most important items that we needed to keep our family comfortable along the way. Great stay, I highly recommend!

Steps away from the colessium

We had a wonderful stay with Andrea! Our arrival at the airport was seamless as Andrea had a taxi driver ready to immediately pick us up and take us to his apartments. This was a relief after a long day of traveling. We received a bit of a tour on the way which was wonderful. Then, Andrea met us at his apartment and gave us a warm welcome and full review (with a map) of all his recommended sites and restaurants to visit. Take his recommendation when he tells you to visit the Vatican first thing in the morning...it was a madhouse later in the day. Throughout the stay our apartment was spotless and cleaned everyday by Maria, who was wonderful and friendly. The apartments had all the amenities you could need, including just being steps away from the Colessium. One of the apartments even has a washing machine, which was wonderful with a baby. Andrea was also kind enough to sit out a pack n' play crib and high chair for our use. The neighborhood was very nice and quiet. More residential and away from the louder areas which was nice in the evening to come home to after a long day of touring. It is also conveniently located right next to a bus stop (if needed), grocery store, pharmacy, restaurants, and multiple pastry shops. There's a beautiful court yard just outside the apartments, which was nice to enjoy on a sunny day. I would absolutely stay here again. I believe it was a rare find in Rome to have such a convenient, well-kept, and quiet location with all of these amenities. The only critique I would have is the mattress could be a little bit softer. One of them was rather hard, but we still slept good after a long day of walking. Andrea checked in on our stay multiple times and assured our stay was going well. If you want a special place to stay, this is it! You will not regret it! We will be back if when we visit Rome again!

Great location! Great apparement, very spacious for 4 people, host was very accomodating and nice

Will definitely go back to this place when in Rome. The host, Maria, had a map ready for us to explain the public transportation and places to visit and eat. Very helpful. Place was clean and comfortable, the terrace is a nice place to end your day, totally private.

Perfect location and great apartment!

I had just one day to be a tourist in Rome and wanted to be close to the Coliseum with easy access to public transportation. This clean, modern apartment was perfect - from the safety and comfort of the apartment to the location and the help of Andrea. My arrival time changed several times and Andrea was patient and flexible. This is a great place to stay no matter what you'll be doing in Rome!

Great place and location, but poor WiFi

Andrea and Maria, are pleasant to deal with and have been great assistance , including, how Andrea put in an extra light in kitchen for cooking purposes! The apartment is clean and a great place to stay, including the fantastic location! I My teenage children and I thoroughly enjoyed being there, expect for one thing that dampen our stay, the WiFi. My kids couldn't connect with their father on daily bases because the connection kept dropping out and I could not upload my video and photos on Facebook on daily bases. They may need to update their modem and or change their provider to Telecom, who gives fast High-data-rate DSL, otherwise the place is perfect! .

A great base for exploring Rome!

This apartment was very clean, well equipped and extremely well located for exploring Rome. We were warmly welcomed by Maria, despite arriving after midnight and many hours after we were supposed to arrive due to travel delays. She gave us lots of good advice about getting the best out of our stay. We were able to walk to most of the places we visited and we used the metro at other times. The apartment was also close to many good eating places. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to be centrally located in this beautiful city.

Great Apartment close to Coluseum

Had a wonderful stay at the Green Apartments. Was met on arrival and went over everything we needed to know about getting around in Rome and how to shorten up time in lines. If there was any down side the bed was extremely hard but our stay was wonderful.

Nice, clean, and convenient apartment. Updated kitchen and bathrooms. Bedrooms were spacious. Andrea was very responsive to emails and met us at the apartment when we arrived. He was very easy to deal with. Bathrooms could have used a hair dryer, soap, and shampoo.

Beautiful apartment, close to all main monuments and attractions

After a slight hiccup in bookings and having to spend one night in a substitute apartment, we were transferred to our booked apartment and all was well. The accommodation is central to the major monuments and attractions and only minutes from the Colosseum, which you can actually see from the lounge and bedroom windows. Our stay was wonderful and we were lucky enough to be in Rome during their Birthday week celebrations, including a parade of 'Roman Legions' throughout the streets and an afternoon of plays, dances and a battle re-enactment in the Circus Maximus - the ancient chariot racing arena. All in all a fantastic holiday, so much to see that we will certainly be returning. The apartment is lovely and has all the necessary self catering facilities, although it would have been nice to have a little milk available on arrival for a cup of tea or coffee, rather than having to go shopping as soon as you arrive. We would certainly recommend this accommodation to friends and family.

Pleasant & Very Reasonale Rome Hide-Away

What a pleasant surprise we had being met by Andrea upon our arrival in Rome to the Green Apartments. His personal touch in welcoming his guests and the bountiful information and maps he supplies are truly a bonus to the clean and well located apartments. He even took the time to walk us to a local site as well as showing where local restaurants, shops & transportation were located. This courtyard apartment is located a short walk from the Coliseum & Forum as well as the Metro & Bus lines. The Gelato just around the corner is not to be missed & morning coffee and evening wine on the pleasant patio are a must. We would definitely rent here again and will recommend to our friends.

Perfect!

The apartment was everything we hoped it would be for our family with children ages 2.5 and 8 months. A bed for my husband and I, a toddler bed, and a portable crib for my baby. The price was very reasonable for the quality, the location was so nice, the apartment clean, and the map and information provided were so good. The restaurants and gelato places provided us with the best food we ate the entire time we were in the Mediterranean. We would definitely return! You won't be disappointed with your choice if you decide to stay here.

Great apartment

We were in love with this place the minute we arrived! It was so cute and located in a great spot. Andrea was an excellent host! He sat down with us and showed us on the map, how to plan out where we had wanted to go. We told him what we had in mind and he helped guide us. The map that he provides is perfect, as it has all of his recommendations on it. We tried the pastry place he recommended, clearly the locals choice too, as it was hopping. We also tried two of his restaurant suggestions and we were not disappointed. The apartment was excellent for the four of us and our kids ages 14 and 12 loved it. We had a view of the Coliseum from the window. There is a great patio area to sit and have a glass of wine. The neighborhood is very quiet even though the apartment is on a Main Street. The Green Apartments will be our choice for our next visit to Rome. Hopefully we can stay longer next time.

Look no further, the Green Apts. is the place to stay!!

From beginning to end, our stay at The Green Apartments was wonderful. We stayed here for 10 days over the Christmas holiday. Traveling with two young children (3 yo/8 mos. old), it's important to find a place that you can settle into, rather than a standard hotel room. Many places I looked wanted to charge fees for extra beds, baby cots, etc. All I have to say is if you are traveling with young kids (and even if you are not), this place is a dream! For no extra charge, Andrea made sure we had a baby cot, and child's bed, a high chair, AND had some plastic kid plates/cups for us to use. (Note: Use the car service for airport pickup/dropoff. It was only 15 Euro more than taking a taxi and SO much more convenient.) From the start, we were met by Andrea and he took some time to sit down with us and orient us to the city, the local area and offer suggestions. Throughout the 10 day stay, he checked in a few times to make sure everything was alright. And it was! Plenty of hot water, quiet, and the best part... the black out shutters in the bedroom and living room. The view: a small square of the Coliseum, and rooftop courtyards (which I loved seeing how the locals live). Plenty of space to move around in the apartment, kitchen and dining room, and washing machine (bonus!). Maria came by every day to clean and was very friendly. We were able to leave our stroller in a secure stairwell (apartment is up two small flights of stairs). Lovely private patio for relaxing in the evenings. Close walking to all the metro/bus/tram and the location could not be better as far as getting to the major sights. We walked pretty much everywhere, and only used the public transportation when we went across town to Vatican. If you are buying bus tickets at the Tobacco shop (note: they are closed on Sundays - best to buy a bunch in advance). Close to great neighborhood restaurants, grocery stores, bakery, etc. The Indian restaurant on way in was very good! I can't say enough good things about Andrea and Maria and the Green Apartments. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all my friends and family. Andrea - THANK YOU so much for everything. It was great fun for our entire family and it was wonderful meeting yours as well when we bumped into you at the zoo. Your kids are darling!! As you say... "Ciao! Ciao!" Happy New Year and hope 2015 brings you many wonderful visitors. Best, The Labak Family

An absolute Jewel of an experience

The Green Apartments offers a centrally located venue that is clean, private, and friendly. The (2) rooms of our apartment are larger in comparison to what you would expect in any Hotel in Rome. Clean, Modern/Well Maintained, Air Conditioned (this is a rare pleasure in Rome), with a Full Kitchen. Saved us hundreds as we tried to eat in as often as was convenient. Silverware, Plates, Pots-Pans, and a Euro coffee pot were available for our use. There is also a private patio with tables and chairs on the same level, great atmosphere for sipping a little wine after a long day of touristing. Wi-Fi was available at no additional charge. Management (Andrea) was fantastic, and his staff was great too. Everyone's English was perfect. Offered us advise on eats and transport, was always available by phone and checked in on us several times during our visit. The apartments are a 10 to 15 minute walk to the Coliseum, and both the "A" and "B": Metro lines are close by as well. I highly recommend this apartment, this comes from a 4 time visitor to Rome. I will be sure to return myself.

Excellent location, great staff, spotless apartment- the best!

Deciding to stay at the Green Apartments was probably the best decision I made when planning our Italy trip. We stayed in apartment 4, which is a one bedroom and has a little peak of the Coliseum. The apartment was spotless, spacious, had invaluable air-conditioning (since there was a heat wave while we were there), had everything you need to cook a meal and is also super quiet. The apartments are in a great location, about 7 minutes walk from the Coliseum and Forum and about a 15 minute walk from the “Wedding Cake” and other sights of Rome. You could easily walk everywhere but the metro and bus are close by and easy to use. Andrea is great! He is easy to communicate with and will answer all of you questions promptly. He was waiting outside for us when we arrived and gave us a great map and the best tips! (Do follow his advice and go to Luzzi’s and Panelle. Also on Via Merulana there is a little shop, Pasta All’ Uovo and they have the friendliest staff there to help you with cheeses, olive oils, cured meats, etc). Maria, the woman who keeps things tidy, is SO nice and even kept us informed about things like transportation strikes (which Italy has a lot of, fyi). I have been telling everyone I know and now I’m telling you-- look no further and book your stay at the Green Apartments! Thank you Andrea and Maria!
