Nice 6th floor condo in Destin

We largely enjoyed our stay. The pool gets afternoon shade which is very nice. The beach is very nice. Cant beat that white sand. The unit was clean and things were in working condition. The mirrored wall in the unit is nice because it makes the unit look bigger. There are locks on the bedroom door which is always a positive. Our view of the ocean was great. It faces the east so the unit gets morning sun. A few things we did not like 1) have to wear yellow wrist band (scratches your back when you shower) 2) quite crowded and busy 3) you can setup your own umbrella and chairs but you have to place them behind the 4 rows of chairs available for reservation (resort owns the beach) Oh, the Tiki bar was nice. Good tropical mixed drinks.

Too many rules

At check in you are given a bracelet to wear (the listing said only during special holiday weekends). Our stay was not during a holiday. You have to wear it at all times and if you lose it, you have to pay $25 to replace it (not $10 like the listing says). And yes security is always around the corner and ask to see it. Even if you are leaving the property. But the wristbands aren’t near as aggravating as the security officers. One said something to a kid for digging in the sand and another for having animal crackers too close to the pool. I felt like I was being watched the entire time. Security will not let you pass the so called property line in front of the resort to get beach access. A rental company sets up chairs and umbrellas and you can only set up directly behind them making it very crowded. When there is plenty of empty sand on either side of the “lines”. Bringing our own beach chairs ended up being useless. And if you are a smoker, you do not want to stay here. You are not even allowed to smoke on your own balcony and if you get caught they will kick you out and you will lose your $. There are only 2 places on the entire property that you can smoke. You are not allowed to smoke on the beach. We arrived 2 hrs early and were not able to check in any early. When check in time came the lobby was packed And we had to wait forever for an elevator. It’s a big resort but has 4 elevators in the main lobby (only 3 worked the entire stay) and 1 other that never worked.

We enjoy our stay at this location very much, but there were a few issues with the condo. We were very disappointed in the cleaning service. The floors looked like they may have had a brief sweep, but we found lots of sand, dirt and dust. Fortunately, as soon as we contacted the property manager, someone was sent to clean it. Also the toilet bowl rims had black “gunk” around them. We cleaned those ourselves immediately but think this should have been cleaned throughly before our arrival. The furniture in this unit looks nice, but the sofa has lost all its firmness so was very uncomfortable. A different sofa or sectional would be great for comfort. When guests have a lengthy stay, comfortable furniture to relax on is very important. All in all, we love this location, the master bed is very comfortable, the kitchen is sufficiently stocked with items for cooking, and the view is amazing.

Wonderful Vacation

The condo was just as pictured and we loved it! The decor was perfect, had the necessary appliances and supplies. The view was great and the availability of 3 polls was very nice. Food and staff in the cafe was really good. The outlets in both bedrooms were loose, so that made it necessary to move the 2nd bedroom lamp close to the closet instead of on the end table between the beds. The light in the ceiling fan wouldn’t turn on either. That considered, we would definitely stay here again.

Room and building need a reno

The property itself (the bldg) was only clean in the lobby. The hallways & elevators were filthy and were never cleaned during our visit. The room was missing two curtain panels that allowed the early morning sunlight to flow into the room. The sitting room rug needs replacing as the corners have warped over time and are a trip hazard. The rollout bed mattress was terribly uncomfortable. One balcony sliding door is missing its screen door so the door can not be left open.

Great view

Overall our stay was great. Views were amazing. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. The balcony furniture was cheap. The master bath did not drain and the duvets on all 3 beds were stained, which made me wonder if they were being laundered regularly. The resort itself was clean, staff were friendly, pools were great. Location and beach cant be beat!

Spring break 2023

The condo was nice for a party of 4. There were a few things in the condo that need attention. First the master bedroom has a worn out mattress. Secondly the sliding screen door to the balcony (from the master) is broken. Lastly, the toaster needs replaced! Otherwise the condo had everything we needed for a few meals we made. Overall the property was nice. The cafe had good food and the tiki bar was convenient for drinks. The gym was closed for the week in the building we stayed in. There was another neighboring building that had a small gym but there was only 1 working treadmill. We would stay again and would recommend this rental.

This property was nice. Comfortable bed in master bedroom. The living room furniture was not very comfortable. The accent chairs were nice, but not something you could relax in. The kitchen had everything we needed. The linens were nice. The outlets in the condo need repaired. Things would not stay plugged in.. We WERE surprised at the extent of the construction going on. We were told that there may be “some” work being done, but we were not aware that two of the three pools were closed along with the workout room and sauna. We liked the location.

Beautiful Views

Condo 613 at Pelican Beach Resort was comfortable and cozy. The Nautical deco was so fitting for the beach. The curtains could be updated due to not fitting and the plugs needs to be changed because they are loose but, everything else was perfect. The location was great and there was plenty of places to grab a bite to eat within walking distance.

The location of this condo is excellent! Near everything in Destin. Right on the beach. The balcony was nice and large. Furniture on the balcony could be nicer, lounger was not safe to lay in and very dirty. The tub/shower in the master bath did not drain due to a clog. The toilet in the master bath ran constantly and was loud enough wake you up at night. The kitchen could use some more cook wear. We didn’t find a single pot holder and there were only 2 small kitchen towels. All of the appliances worked fine including the washer/dryer. We had to tighten several of the dining table chairs as they were very wobbly and not safe to sit on, and we are not overweight people. The pools were nice and big. You have to rent beach chairs or bring your own. The chair service is great though! Beach is gorgeous and definitely the draw here!! No sand toys, beach equipment, games or anything in this condo. Would stay in this condo complex again, but probably not this particular condo. It just seemed to be lacking basic upkeep.

Perfect vacation condo!

We enjoyed the pools and easy access to the beach. Restaurants were close by. Only thing that needs improving in our opinion is the access to the luggage carts. Was a bit of a task finding one. And maybe getting curtains that go all the way across the sliding balcony doors in the living room. The curtains didn’t fit all the way. Bit other than that was a nice condo. Decorated nicely!

It is a very nice place to stay and a good view of the ocean from the side. The only downfall was the washer and dryer . The agitator in the washer would come off while washing. The dryer vent was broken and rust inside of the dryer. The washer and dryer need to be updated.

Great Stay!

Super cute condo in a great location. Note to future renters, there’s beach chairs an umbrella and toys in unit (I lugged a beach tent but they aren’t allowed) but also a place to rent umbrella/chairs). My 2 and 4 year old loved it and we lucked out that there was storm and washed up some shells. The unit was pretty clean, I just gave it a 4 star on that because it could use a deep clean.

Great location on a beautiful beach. Nice unit but fell short due to poor cleaning and maintenance. Mold/mildew in toilets/shower, several light bulbs burned out, shelf missing in fridge and no light, balcony chair broken. Rental beach chairs were 4 rows deep and ended up in 4th row each day despite being first in line at 9am opening. Didn't see those type of crowds at any adjoining properties.
