Lovely visit in a private wooded property
We had another relaxing stay at Peggy’s house. The house is surrounded by trees and birds and has a lovely fountain for ambiance. Great kitchen full of amenities, fireplace and plenty of space. We will come back again.

Not the house for a fun time
If you're planning on enjoying some time at this house, i would recommend staying somewhere else. This place is made for families who plan on being quiet during their stay. The owners are very uptight and even have 2 cameras on the front and back porch to keep an eye on things. They claim it's completely legal to have the cameras, but it seemed a bit extreme and uncomfortable to us. On top of that, the owners stay in a tiny home that's half way down the driveway while you're in their house.
You will get a noise complaint at night even if you're only enjoying conversation and laughter on the back porch. They advertise having an outdoor hot tub, but after having some beers and cigarettes in the tub they decided to not refund my entire deposit and claimed they would have to clean the tub after our stay. In my opinion a hot tub should be cleaned after every guest no matter what. Their other reasons for not refunding the deposit was that we left a few uncleaned dishes, forgot to take out a little trash and smoked cigarettes outside (which is against their policy because of starting fires).
I understand the concern of starting fires, but we are 30 years old and are fully capable of smoking a cigarette without starting a wild fire. This is the first time i've ever not received my full deposit back. Only after writing the owner multiple times did she refund me a very small portion of the deposit, meaning she kept most of it to clean the tub, take out a bag of trash and wash a few dishes. This left me wondering what the cleaning fee was for??
To add insult to injury, we came in August and the house was extremely hot. The air conditioning did not work at all, making sleeping very uncomfortable. The owner told us to try and leave the doors open to get some air flow which only ended up letting bugs in the house.
It's a beautiful house and Peggy seemed like a very nice lady, but if you are trying to come here to enjoy some time at the house i would recommend finding another place.
We stayed here for 2 blissful weeks in March. Great location for exploring the immediate area as well as going further afield. The hosts could not have been more helpful and this lovely tree house was everything we wanted - a real home from home.
Peggy our host was extremely kind and welcoming during our stay in her house. Peggy was flexible with us to accommodate for our travel schedule. The location of Peggy's house is fabulous, tucked away on a hill in a lovely neighborhood giving a feeling of quiet solitude in the busy SoCal area. The house is extremely comfortable with plenty of room for a big group. The outside spaces were magnificent! We loved the veranda looking out towards the mountains, large front porch with a swing and the back deck! To top all of this the amenities were perfect! Thank you, Peggy!
We had a wonderful time staying in the tree house! We were in Pomona for a wedding, and it was a wonderful touchdown space for all of us to relax and get a little break between wedding activities. The grounds are lovely, and the open floor plan was perfect for hanging out. It was very comfortable, and plenty of spaces to lounge. A couple of the guests staying in the house were from the area and made mention that they never knew such beautiful houses existed in Pomona. If you are in the area, I highly suggest you consider staying at here - it is wonderful!!

A heavenly haven in a private canyon
This very special “last home on the lane”, tucked into the top of a canyon, is unique on so many levels. Every amenity is available, from comfortable beds and fully functional kitchen, to two fireplaces, and several comfortable seating areas. Then, outside, there are decks on all sides of the house with pristine views from each vantage point. Our hosts, Peggy and Bill, were amazingly accommodating and thoughtful. This is a home that I’d strongly recommend to anyone contemplating a “different experience”, where you are literally one minute from a major hotel (Sheraton Fairplex), and yet you feel like you are miles away in your own private canyon tucked into the base of the Ganesha hills.

Quiet and comfortable
If you want to stay in a peaceful environment then this is it! It is a beautiful, quiet place that surprisingly is only a few minutes from the Pomona Fairplex. The kitchen and house is well stocked and there is plenty of space in the house to relax and unwind. We especially enjoyed the patio swing in the mornings--enjoying the bird songs and the view. If you are staying with other people and want complete privacy at times then I advise renting the lower unit too. Overall I highly recommend this rental house. Peggy is very welcoming & available if needed. She provides a clean, comfortable, and quiet house to stay in.

Perfect for a family getaway!
My family and I stayed at Peggy's charming home during my son's wedding in nearby Upland, CA. We rented both the upper and lower units, and it was a terrific experience for us! Over a 4-day stay, about one dozen family members stayed at the home, which is very conveniently located near the Los Angeles County Fair Grounds and to 1-10. The home has a terrific living/dining/kitchen, which was very well appointed and which held all of us with ease. There is a fabulous, large deck with a hot tub, which is a great addition to the property.
Three bedrooms and several sleeper sofas accommodated couples, singles, late nighters and early risers just fine. The living areas are on two levels, so be aware that there are steps.
The home is very secluded and quiet. You would definitely need to drive to most attractions, and it is a little difficult to find; but it is worth the effort! There are very few properties available in this area, and this is the only one large enough for our group. It was a fun way to celebrate my son's wedding!

A very pleasant stay!
Our son and daughter-in-law were married in Claremont, and Peggy and Phil's house was very nice for our extended family. It wasn't too far from the Claremont Colleges-about a 10 minute drive. The house had very nice touches put out just for us; coffee, chocolates, and cookies were both upstairs snd downstairs (we rented both units). We had a large group of people, and the owners made sure the picnic tables and chairs were set up before we got there. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch drinking our coffee and watching the beautiful sunrises. We also enjoyed that it was removed from the city in the hills.
Peggy and Phil were easy to work with and we would recommend this VRBO to anyone staying in the area. In fact, I wish we would've known about it while our son had been attending Pomona College, since it can be very difficult to find a hotel there.

Nice place to stay with the comforts of home!
We were looking for a place to accommodate the 5 of us. Instead of getting two hotel rooms for our California trip to look at colleges we found this house. Peggy and her husband are very accommodating and helpful and really nice. The house had everything we needed and we had a very nice trip. We also went to Disney , Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. All within a 45 minute to an hour drive.

BEAUTIFUL HOME EVER!
My now husband (Fiance at the time) and I were on the hunt for a place to stay/get ready for the weekend of our wedding! We looked into hotels and for the price, this house is incomparable! My photographer was so in love with the home, Brides if you are getting married in the area, this is the place to be! The decoration is a beautiful vintage touch and photos come out so beautiful! The master bedroom has huge doors with windows that let in such beautiful lighting. The second bedroom is super roomy and there are plenty of extra pillows, blankets, sheets etc. There are two areas with dinning tables so it was wonderful for the Girls and Guys to get ready separately. The owners of the home are awesome and so accommodating. I had numerous changes throughout the booking process and Peggy was so patient with me. The area is super secluded which means lots and lots of privacy and not much traffic which is really ideal for us. The owners recently put in a beautiful large hot tube, we didnt get the chance to use it but it looked great! Not to mention when we checked in she had Mimosas fixings ready for us and snacks/chocolates. Everything in the home is new and kept in great shape. Overall we had such a wonderful stay and I would come back again for our anniversary perhaps next year! Thank you so much Peggy, your home made our wedding even more memorable for us!!

Beautiful, hilltop home
All the hotels were booked because of a big event at the nearby Fairplex, but this wonderful home in the hills was available, and it was a wonderful place to stay. The home is up a private driveway, and has two levels. The smaller, lower level can be a separate 1-BR apartment on its own, but you want the upper level with two bedrooms, loads of space, decks and glass, a well-equipped kitchen, and a large gas grill on one deck. The owners are friendly and accommodating -- I got a personal welcome despite my 2am arrival. I hope to get a chance to stay there again.

Treehouse in the Pomona Hills
An odd twist of circumstance brought us to this hidden house in the hills. Turns out it was heaven sent.
We had rented a place in nearby Montclair nearly a year earlier for our son's college graduation. The deal collapsed with just three weeks to go. The local hotels were booked solid; there wasn't another house for rent within a 35-mile radius of Claremont. Suddenly, a magical treehouse appeared.
The house is fully kitted out for comfort. Air mattresses in every closet, a sofa-sleeper in the den, a trundle bed beneath a single in the second bedroom, and best of all, a separate "mother-in-law" suite on the ground floor with kitchen, sitting room, bedroom, and bath.
The den off the kitchen gives on to a wraparound porch equipped with patio furniture and a serious grill. A smaller deck off the living room and the ample front porch make entertaining or simply enjoying the mountain view a pleasure.
The house is a stone's throw from the freeway while at the same time secluded high atop a private drive. It's minutes from Claremont Village and Montclair, just a bit farther from Route 66 and Mount Baldy.
The owners were reasonable and gracious indeed, inquiring after us now and again during our 8-day stay and promptly answering any question we posed. All an all, we were delighted with our stay. For a bunch of former New Yorkers, that's saying a great deal.

About the host
Hosted by Peggy Underwood
My husband and I both grew up at a mile above sea level, but in different states. We miss the snow but we love the seclusion of our home up in the trees (and the convenience of having civilization just a three minute drive away). We' re new to the Claremont/Pomona community but still have friends and family throughout LA and Orange Counties. Most nights you can find us up in our spectacular 'treehouse'...
Why they chose this property
We purchased this beautiful house with immaculate custom craftsmanship in order to enjoy a home where trees are plentiful and neighbors are scarce, and we can't wait to share it with others!
What makes this property unique
Peaceful isolation and unrivaled comfort. We love the open floor plan and spacious rooms, as well as the comfy couches and enormous spa. Enjoy a roaring fire on a cold night or a gentle breeze on a warm afternoon. Sprawling decks, patios and verandas on three sides of our home don't hurt either...
