You don't need to go up north for an amazing lakefront vacation experience. This 2,200 sft guest house has three bedrooms: king in master, queen in room 2, a twin and queen in room 3 and a queen size futon in the living room. Make memories with your family or friends with 80 feet of lakefront, a sanded beach and swimming area, fishing dock, free use of four kayaks and a bonfire pit. Only room for small pontoon or fishing boat.

View is beautiful and description is pretty accurate. Home is dated with paint chips, floors that creek, and old furnishings... However, if you're going to relax and enjoy family time none of those things really matter. Owner was very responsive. The only really big thing for us was I asked the owner prior to booking if our boat would work at his dock (21ft Bayliner Deck boat) to which he said yes. I booked it and we towed our boat all the way there at 9 mpg to find out that it wouldn't. The public launch isn't even on this lake nor would a medium size boat work on the dirt launch. The owner did volunteer to give me back part of my payment if I left by 4pm. Considering our children had traveled there and dinner was going, leaving wasn't an option. His verbal apology didn't sound sincere to any of us, but I guess he made the sale he wanted. A very small refund for the misinformation he provided would have made us feel better about the situation. All in all, we made the best out of the situation as the boat sat parked all weekend. Towels, dish soap, hand soap, dishwasher tablets, paper towels, dishes all provided which was appreciated.

Lovely, quiet lakeside house.

Excellent property in a fantastic location! House is much bigger then the pictures. Very clean, plenty of extra towels and bedding. Area and lake was very quiet.

Lakeside Gem

Perfect spot for a boys weekend. So much space, well equipped, and very clean. The lake was beautiful and it was so nice to spend time in the backyard on the deck or at the fire pit. The owner was very communicative and helpful.

Perfect for Michigan Graduation

My family stayed here for our daughter's graduation from Michigan. The view of the lake is gorgeous. We had space to spread out. The boys enjoyed the yard. The host responded quickly to texts. A+

Awesome House!!

First and foremost, Shane, the renter, was amazing to deal with. Always answered my questions quickly. Home was perfect for a girls weekend celebrating a 50th birthday. The location is amazing on the lake. Saw a loon, a swan and an albino squirrel. Kitchen had plenty of everything you need. Beds were SUPER comfortable. Some things are a little dated, but never bothered us. I can't wait to plan another girls weekend here!

Large Clean House, Great for a group gathering

Our teen girls group had a great time at this house. A fire pit, kayaks, and a large house to spread out in. We truly enjoyed ourselves. Pretty quiet area despite how close the houses are together. Owner texted back quickly with help when needed. Thank you :)

Our families gathered. Three different families. The younger ones spent the night. During the day we enjoyed a snowball fight, games, TV, and lots of good meals together. The kitchen is fantastic, We could prepare, cook, and do dishes all together. The upstairs bedrooms gave us room to spread out. The two dining areas gave us space to gather.

Large, comfortable house

The house was much larger than we had expected - the master bedroom in particular is huge! We ended up being in the house much more than we had planned since our family who lives locally that we were visiting got COVID. It was great having such a large house to accommodate us since we spent most of our time there. I will definitely check for availability for future stays.

Great getaway

I was really pleased with the location of this great little getaway spot. Halfway between Lansing and Detroit, it worked great for my daughter's birthday party with her friends from those two towns.

Great place to stay!

The location was perfect for our trip to Ann Arbor. The place was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. If you’re planning a trip to Ann Arbor to attend a Michigan game I would highly recommend this house. From the house to the stadium is only about 25 minute drive. Go Blue!

family wedding weekend

We loved the location and the beautiful lake access. The house easily fit all our family for a weekend celebrating our nephews wedding. The house is comfortable, has kayaks and canoes for the lake. Needs some updating, very dated, but was clean and provided what we needed. Would stay here again.

Family Getaway Cut Short

Through no one's fault, our family getaway was cut short. The night we arrived there were crazy storms and tornadoes in the area. The house lost power and since the house is on well water, without power to the pump there was no water. We had to flush the toilets with lake water. We used sand toy buckets to haul water from the lake each time. With little kids and one disabled person, we were not able to stay in these conditions. Shane was AMAZING and kept in contact with us. He offered us a refund, which he did not have to do, but he was kind enough to do so. WE GREATLY APPRECIATED IT.

Great stay and host!

We have made this our yearly family trip. It is a great spot for BBQs and get togethers. Kids love the beach area and fishing off the dock. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Lake Vacation

Our family of 5 was thrilled with all of the amenities in this beautiful home on the lake. We have twin 18 year olds and an 11 year old. The badminton set was a huge hit for our active family, plus exploring the lake by kayak, and fishing for crappie, sunfish, and bluegill right off our dock. Two big dining tables for eating and playing games. Everyone had space to sprawl out while watching TV in the living room at night then their own comfortable beds to sleep in. We spent one day shopping at the Tanger outlets, another horseback riding at the Brighton Riding Stable, and we rented a pontoon from Wonderland Marine West to explore the Huron River Chain of Lakes. Jonna's Market for quick items is 4 minutes away while Kroger is 15 minutes. The owners were super responsive to all of our needs and check in/out was a breeze. Everyone in the neighborhood was so friendly. What a gem! Thank you Shane and family!

Qualit family time

Plenty of space for 8 adults, and 2 toddlers. The sandy beach with shallow water worked great for the toddlers. We enjoyed yard games, kayaking, chats on the patio and campfire. The kitchen was nothing fancy, but worked great for us to prepare meals. We had a great experience. Checkin and checkout couldnt have been easier.

Great family getaway

We had a great time on our annual family fishing trip. No issues with anything regarding the cottage. Everything was clean and well maintained. The lake was great and we caught some nice bass and pike. The panfish were mostly on the small side though. Overall we had a great time and will definitely consider returning another time!

Great get away!

We visited the area for a family wedding and decided to extend our stay. This property was fantastic! Surrounded by lakes and close to amenities. The house was exactly what we needed for our group of 6 (3 adults 3 kids) we never felt cramped at all. The home was very spacious. My husband spend most of his waking hours on the dock fishing and caught tons of fish! Even my kids (4&5) joined in and caught many fish. The sand area was great for kids and we used the kayaks and fire pit. We loved the home and will definitely be back!!

My name is Shane and I live on the lake with my wife and 3 kids. The rental is our guest house that we rent by the night, weekend, week or month. We live in the house next door year round.

You will fall in love with Crooked Lake which has the right balance of a natural setting and lake fun for the family. Your kids will spend most of the vacation on the beach, swimming, fishing, catching frogs or watching blue herons and hawks. Golfers will find several great courses nearby. Downtown Brighton with over 30 restaurants and great shopping is less than 10 minutes away.
