Le Pigu was perfect for our family vacation on the Amalfi coast and we highly recommend it! A very comfortable and well-maintained 41 ft sailboat, she was a lovely home for 4 nights for our family of 5 - 2 parents, 2 teens, and grandmother. The 3 cabins easily fit us - including my husband (6ft 4in) and son (6ft 2in). Do keep in mind that it is a sailboat, so the quarters are snug, but sufficient. Our son had a cabin to himself that he found cozy. The marina and surrounding areas were safe and lovely, just a short walk to the main promenade with plenty of cafes and restaurants. We mostly made coffee (moka espresso) on board before starting our daily adventures. You could cook on-board, but we chose to eat out.
Antonio was very helpful answering our questions in advance, alleviating our concerns about weather and itinerary. He helped us get settled then plan for a day trip to Pompeii (amazing!!). We were fortunate to have stellar weather and arranged for Antonio to sail us around the coast and to Capri, adapting the itinerary to the weather conditions and our interests. This was the most relaxing and fun part of our vacation, with time to ponder the color of the sea, go for a swim, read, and chat about the beautiful countryside. He is very knowledgeable of the area, seas and sailing, paid attention to the weather forecast, adapted the itinerary on the way, gave us good insights into the local area (what to skip vs not miss), and put us all at ease in terms of his sailing skills - we felt very comfortable with him at the helm. On top of that, he was friendly, funny, and easy to communicate with in English.
It was very easy to transit from Rome to Naples on the fast train, then a local train to town. We also used the train to easily get to and from Pompeii for a day trip. Had the weather been poor for sailing, there is easy access to trains and buses to Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi.
