Home with a stunning view, close to trails and town
Leave The Clutter Behind. The view of downtown Juneau; the quiet of the surrounding forest / mountainside; and the clean and modern comforts will make this home one you won't want to leave. The house is a new(ish) build, finished in 2015 and designed for cold weather standards. Rent it out with the adjacent side (Salty Suite VRBO #1062288) and you can accommodate twelve. We do reserve the house for stays of 5 nights or longer when booking further out than 30 days and 7 nights or longer when booking 60 days or more in advance. Exceptions are made so feel free to ask. Likely reasons we would give an exception: If the stay fit well with an existing adjacent stay on the calendar (no long gaps in between); If the dates are in the shoulder seasons (not June - August); If you were wanting both sides for a longish stay... Each side has the living area on the second floor along with a master bedroom. The upstairs bathroom has (2) doors, one directly to the master and one to the living space. The first floor has the second two bedrooms, another full bathroom and a laundry room, plus a large entry for dumping all your gear. One parking space at the top of the driveway is provided and there are 3-4 steps up to the first floor from the car door.

Loved the house. There was a mix up with the housecleaners though & it had not been cleaned. We had to do some pick up & laundry but the owner refunded the cleaning fee.
We loved this house! Clean, comfortable beds, great location (away from cruise ships), everything we needed was provided, stunning scenery from the living room, quiet, near to hikes. I would not hesitate to go back.
Everything was really good with our stay. The best so far for the many years we've been coming up. It's a light filled, clean, modern, and spacious VRBO. The view to downtown Juneau (the place is in an affluent neighborhood on Douglas Island) is first rate, especially at night. The communication with the owner was professional. A very minor issue is the limited parking (space for 2 cars, one for the upper rental and the other for the lower) at the top of the driveway though the only negligible inconvenience we experienced was having to do a 3 point turn to get out. This may be an issue for others.
This home was clean, roomy, and had everything we needed for our stay. Check-in was simple and the home was easy to find. Each room had its own thermostat, which allowed us all to be comfortable at our own preference levels. The beds were very comfortable, providing all of us sound sleep, and there was plenty of room for unpacking our clothes in the closets and dressers in each spacious bedroom. The best part of our stay, however, was the spectacular view from the picture windows at the front of the home. We had hard time tearng ourselves away from it! We highly recommend this home to anyone traveling to Juneau and would certainly stay here again if we return someday!

Great place for our stay
We had a wonderful time in Juneau. The house was perfect for our group and in great shape. We had a bit of difficulty getting checked in and couldn’t get a hold of the owner to correct the issue for almost an hour. Annabelle did make it right and overall we had a great time.
The location is great. And you can walk downhill to the downtown area though it is over a mile. We used InstaCart for grocery delivery as we did not rent a car. Domino’s Pizza also delivers to the house.
Juneau specific info: Currently taxi/Uber/Lyft service in Juneau is spotty and we often struggled to find a ride. One driver told us his company used to have 19 drivers before COVID and they are down ti 5, and 2 had COVID while we were there. There is also not a taxi stand at the airport so lesson learned to plan transport in advance.
Wow, what a view. Great location, a short drive from downtown. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy the scenery. Juneau is a hikers paradise. Communication was great.
My wife and I stayed at this rental for 6 nights last week. The rental is modern looking, clean and has great views of the Gastineau Channel and downtown Juneau. The beds are comfortable. There are good walking trails within a couple of blocks (Blueberry Hill trail is nice). Overall we liked this rental and recommend it. It is a great location close to restaurants and walking trails.
Excellent property with a wonderful view! We enjoyed our stay very much. Quiet, clean, well stocked. We enjoyed our walk on the trail above the house. Good location for enjoying Juneau.
The house was beautiful and spacious, plenty of room to spread out for 4 people, and the view was lovely. Very close to downtown Juneau. Our host was very responsive when we had a few questions.
Easy access to property, communication with owner was great. Place was clean, quiet, great showers and great location. Loved how there were trails right out of your front door. Kitchen was well equipped with basics and plenty of extra towels with laundry machines was bonus. Best part was the view! Thanks again!
This place was one of the best homes we stayed in. Very clean. It sits on a hill with windows overlooking Juneau and the mountains. During the summer, darkness doesn’t come till late so it’s beautiful. The home is clean and well stocked. Spacious and homey. Thank you for the home.
The view from this property is breathtaking. Great convenient location to downtown, yet very private. The property is well taken care of and offers every luxury of home. We would highly recommend staying here.
We arrived in the afternoon and the property was more than we expected. The owner was wonderful to work with and the view from the living room was beautiful. Plenty of room for the 6 of us and more than enough amenities provided.
We were visiting kids living in AK. Great location overlooking Juneau and convenient to beaches, hiking trails, restaurants and stores while on the edge of wilderness. The location is private and backs up to the woods and mountains of Douglas Island just behind it and there are great hiking trails just blocks away. Everything is clean, new, roomy and open and there were lots of nice touches and amenities. I particularly enjoyed the contemporary design, it was functional, open and comfortable.
We loved the house and very clean. Had amazing views of the harbor and mountains. The kitchen was awesome as it was stocked very well. Glad there was a BBQ too. Would definitely stay there again.
Love staying in this cute little town home :-) couldn’t have been more perfect for our family and my niece.
Thank u so much!!

Excellent Townhome with Beautiful View
We enjoyed our 5-day stay at this property - it is conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood away from any traffic, the view is beautiful overlooking the channel and Juneau, rooms were clean and ready. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need including outside grill and related utensils. The Wi-Fi is present but Internet connection a bit slow, but usable. TV does not have many channels (5 or 6) but I guess no one would spend much time watching TV while in Juneau. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone visiting Juneau.

Loved it, but.....
We loved the location and the house itself. There are a couple of items that might need attention. Hair dryer does not heat and a hair dryer for each bathroom would be nice. Pantry and upstairs bathroom doors squeak. Bath soap would be nice. We had to go to the store before showering on our first night. The acoustics were not the best. Every noise seemed to echo through the house. We would stay again as well as recommend to others.

About the host

My Siblings and I grew up in Juneau. We have been in the Juneau hospitality business Since 1980 (our parents owned an awesome restaurant) We have moved to various parts of the Northwest now, but still have a great love for Juneau. It shall always be our home, to some degree anyways.
Why they chose this property
We found this land for sale several years ago, and decided to develop this 2 unit townhome as part of an effort to bring quality long and short-term housing to Juneau. We have succeeded! Come see for yourself!
What makes this property unique
The Sourdough Suite is ideally located. Town is a 1.5 mile from your door; but the din of city life is negligible. There is an amazing trail (Dan Moller) that begins just above our House, and takes you to the Bog and Alpine areas of Douglas Island. You can combine this hike with almost every other hike located upon Douglas Island. My family learned to ski at Eaglecrest Ski Area. It is the Little Ski Area that could. Snow dependent, of course. The beaches around Juneau are so impressive. They are expansive. Protected. Scenic. Quiet. Beautiful. Not to be compared with the beaches of Miami or California, mind you. Rubber boots prevail over bikini tops.
