Lovely family holiday
We had a lovely time staying at this cottage! The owner is very friendly and helpfull. When the washing machine broke down, she immediately arranged for a new one. The cottage was clean and cosy with lots of fun activities nearby. We’ve had an amazing time exploring Devon and would definitely recommend staying here!

Relaxing Comfortable Stay!
Very much enjoyed our 5 night break in The Burrow. Thank you Claire for being such a welcoming host. The property was very well equipped and nicely laid out - with everything we needed. Only slight criticism is the outside seating area could maybe do with a little TLC. Surroundings were very calm and tranquil - overall would recommend!

Beautiful hideaway
Lovely holiday home in a tranquil setting, away from the crowds. We always felt happy to return here after a day out. The animals added extra interest and Claire was very responsive to our requests. Our favourite trip was Buddleigh Salterton, for swimming and shopping, only 25 mins away. The tramilne from Colyton to Seaton was also excellent, with a wonderful wetlands stop en route.

Lovely, well equipped family property
Lovely property, clean, well equipped and thoughtfully presented. Ideal for families although we were a family with 2 adult children so one of them had to sleep in a single bed (partners cancelled) Very quiet in a nice part of Devon. We walked into the town Ottery which took us about 40 mins and not always a footpath but just a country road so needed to be careful. Road in was very narrow but luckily didn’t meet any vehicles coming in the other way - happy I wasn’t driving.

Not quite the standard we expected.
The property was looking tired both inside and out. Garden and lounge furniture tatty. The paths and patio areas needed weeding, most garden pots only had weeds in them.

Family break
The property was lovely & clean.it had everything you would need for a home from home relaxing stay. Lovely outdoor space aswell. As we drove in & parked 2 pigs in a field came over to the gate to greet us & the following morning we could see lama's from the kitchen window. The bedrooms & bathrooms were all good sizes. Claire & Avril were lovely very helpful & friendly.

Beautiful location
We arrived 2.5 hours early and Claire let us check in with no problem which was so kind. The rooms are perfect size and it’s nice it had two bathrooms. My only criticism was we picked this property due to the fire pit in the garden witch unfortunately wasn’t there when we arrived.

Wonderful short stay at beautiful accommodation
Claire was absolutely brilliant and very accommodating during our short stay at the Burrow Wood Farm, the accommodation is beautiful and had everything we needed. Nothing went to waste as the pigs enjoyed our left over breakfast and fruit ☺️ Would definitely stop again. Thanks Claire! X

Extremely comfortable, delightful location, lovely garden, super dog walking straight from the gate
We were made so welcome by Claire on our arrival. Excellent tour of the cottage and full explanation of the pertinent points. The cottage is situated in the beautiful Otter Valley a delightful location in East Devon. Such a clean comfortable well equipped cottage, the king size bed was blissfully comfortable and everything you could wish for when al fresco dining. Lovely garden with and extra paddock for the dogs to stretch their legs in addition to the numerous walks available straight from the gate. Peace and tranquility is the order of the day here. We loved it and so did our dogs. This is one cottage that we will be returning to.

I am a mixed media artist, working in my studio on the farm. We have lived here for 11 years, and converted The Burrow in to a holiday cottage in 2016, so that others might also enjoy this little slice of Devon heaven, which we occupy!

Why they chose this property

I have spent most of my life in the South West of England, and have lived in this particular part of East Devon since 2000. I absolutely adore this rolling hills, the far-reaching rural views, the chocolate-box cottages, the stunning coastal scenery - it has everything, and more!

What makes this property unique

The Burrow has a wonderfully calm atmosphere, and is light, airy and uncluttered. It is a flowing space, that leads out to it's own large, private garden, with wonderful views and vistas. With far-reaching westerly views in particular, we experience some of the best sunsets I have ever seen!
