About this property

Bear Run - Walk to Main Street - Rustic Cabin - Free WiFi - Washer/Dryer - Wood

Bear Run is a beautiful historic two-story four-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin that has won the hearts of many traveling to the town of Red River. It has the perfect location, surrounded by Aspens and Evergreens, making a secluded vacation home; but still close enough to town for those in your party looking to walk to town for the shopping, restaurants, and late-night drinks at the saloons. If that is not what you are looking for in a vacation, relax on the large front deck with plenty of seating or even lounge around the large fire pit located in the large yard offered by Bear Run. Upon entry, you will be taken by the rustic decor of the first living room. Sit around with family and friends while the wood-burning fireplace sets a calming atmosphere. The family room also has several other areas equipped with two twin beds and an additional dining table. With the next section of the main floor, you also have the second living room, dining room, and kitchen. The second living room has a large flat-screen TV and DVD/VHS player giving its guests the option of watching movies brought from home! Guests will be able to use the free WiFi that Bear Run offers to all guests. Across from the living room is the nice sized kitchen that looks over onto the large dining table with extra seating at the kitchen bar. The main level is also where you will find the master bedroom with a king bed for guest comfort, with a TV and access to your own private bathroom. Inside that bathroom is a washer/dryer for guests to use whenever needed. The other three bedrooms are located on the second floor. The first upstairs bedroom is equipped with a double bed and a twin bed. The second and third bedrooms have a single queen bed in each room. All upstairs bedrooms have access to the main level full bathroom. One of the best features of Bear Run is the large open yard surrounding the home and where you will find the charcoal BBQ grill for guest use. The yard is shared with Bear Hugs which is also managed by Red River Real Estate. Rent them both if you are looking for something with a little more room and together both units can accommodate up to 18 people.

Red River Cabin

Kitchen is not fully stocked - no large spoons or anything to cook with and no water pressure or hot water in kitchen… you have to carry hot water from bathroom to kitchen to wash dishes.

Lots of room, but that's about it.

My wife, 11 month old, and I booked this cabin due to the size and layout of the property. We traveled with her sister, my In laws, and another couple for a super bowl weekend ski trip. The cabin is listed as a 4 bed 2 bath with 3 bedrooms upstairs. Technically this is correct but the bedrooms upstairs did not have walls that go to the ceiling. Every time someone in the lower living room moved up/down the stairs, turned on a light, snored, coughed, or came in or out there was nothing to offer any privacy. If a living room light was turned on it was the same as turning on the light in the bedroom. The same thing happened with the lights in the 3 bedrooms. As to be expected in an older cabin the stairs and catwalk to the bedrooms were very noisy to navigate, which would not have been a problem if the bedrooms were closed off. I had to move a dresser a little bit to fit my daughters crib and the amount of dust in the rooms was terrible. There was trash under the dresser (old coins, make up brushes, a gum wrapper) and a thick film of dust. I had to sweep the floor before I let my daughter sleep in there. We listed 9 occupants in the cabin for the stay and we showed up with 2 trash bags, 2 rolls of toilet paper and absolutely no cleaning products to keep the counters, tables clean during our stay. Overall if you are a small group, or aren't looking for much privacy this would be a great place to stay, but if you want anything quiet or cozy I would look elsewhere.

Fantastic property and location!

We were thrillled to find this property last minute for spring break. We love the nostalgia of this warm and cozy home. Previous reviews state that it needs to be updated, I strongly disagree. It’s an old cabin in the woods style home and fits quaintly in the mountain of Red River. This home is fully stocked with plenty of kitchenware, bedding (even extra), towels, crock pots, blender, mixers and more. Also provided were a variety of games. We’ve stayed in many rental homes and they by far supplied a plethora of these items. The half walls in the upstairs bedrooms were not a problem at all. The three rooms were used from ages 18 to 67 with plenty of privacy for all. The only complaint is having to go downstairs to use the bathroom at night and that’s truly not that much of an inconvenience. Thank you for making our 2023 spring break a lasting memory!

Red River cabin

The cabin is cute and woodsy but needs some TLC. The property around the cabin makes it unique with off street parking and a nice yard to enjoy. It can accommodate families with the number of beds and sofa's. However, even though it boasts of multiple bedrooms they are not private since they are partitioned off instead of a traditional wall and both bathrooms are downstairs. We had a challenge with the managing real estate company since we had to reschedule our stay (there was not a refund) due to COVID. The management company left the impression that we made an error in scheduling through VRBO if we wanted consideration and service.

This home is more bunkhouse than 4 bedroom.

The communal living space is wonderful. There is only 1 private bedroom-the downstairs master. The three room upstairs are barely semi-private-more open loft that sleep 6. The stairs and floor are quite noisy so sneaking down to the bathroom at night will wake everyone. If you need a quiet place for young kids, the only option is the one downstairs bedroom. Also, both bathrooms are downstairs. One is attached to the private master bedroom and the other a small guest bathroom. We totally made it work for our families (4 adults, 6 kids) but it was awkward. Great location and would work well for other groups.

Beautiful and relaxing fall weekend in this cabin in the mountain

This is an adorable and comfortable cabin with everything you need. The only surprise was that the three bedrooms in the loft dont have walls to the ceiling. Which just made a little lack of privacy for our married children. Also there are a few benches on the porch and around the fore pit that are falling apart. But none the less we had a memorable and enjoyable weekend
