Smiles and laughter when we arrived in the garden surrounding the cottage. Garden art by the owner was eclectic and fun. A spacious cottage, comfortable and quiet. Morning walks to drink coffee on bench overlooking the ocean. Daily bicycle rides along the bay, under the bridge.
Coronado Library has musical concerts Friday afternoon. Thankfully our dog was allowed to come too which meant Dog Beach visits every day.
Hopefully 2025 will see us back at this VRBO.
The cottage is in an ideal location. Easy to get to everywhere in Coronado. It is artsy and there are many arts objects throughout the cottage. It is in a very quiet neighborhood. You always feel safe. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We loved the cottage. So much art inside and out. The location was great for walking everywhere I wanted to go on the island. Susan and Joe were so nice and kind. They made our stay memorable
The cottage was absolutely adorable. It felt much larger than advertised. It was really was stocked with everything you could imagine, from birthday candles to a Weight Watcher Scale. Thia helped us to not put on the typical 10 pound vacation weight gain
Susan was wonderful to work with and she went out of her way to accommodate us with an emergency back home. you will enjoy the unit. Give it a try.

Cottage on A avenue/ Coronado Village
This was the 2nd year we spent the month of August in the cottage. It's very charming and quite spacious for the size. The cottage has everything you need so all you need to pack are your clothes. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, toaster, coffee maker, spices, blender and so much more. There's a washer/dryer as well as a TV with premium channels. Highly recommend staying here. The owners are very accommodating. Walking distance to numerous restaurants, the library, Spreckles park, Lambs theater, Hotel Del Coronado and the beaches!

Magical
We have rented this cottage 4 years now and it's as lovely and magical as ever.
The beautiful artwork, lush gardens and attention to every detail make this a really special place. It's functional as well with all the amenities you could need and then some. It's convenient to all Coronado has to offer. You can bike or walk anywhere -to the beach, shops, restaurants or the ferry to San Diego.
The owners are the best, most helpful and wonderful people you could meet, who go out of their way to make sure everything is right.
We love staying here!

The Best VRBO on Coronado, Hands Down!
This vacation rental is nothing short of amazing! I cannot believe that I can rent a place that is so gorgeous and perfect in every way! I've stayed in many VRBO's on Coronado and this one takes the cake BY FAR!!!
It was nice having all the amenities of home, yet being on such a wonderful island away from all the hustle and bustle. The garden is remarkable. The fountain and greenery make you feel like you're in a movie. The artwork is extraordinary. The owner, Susan is the artist which makes it so much more special. She has other pieces for sale too, it's definitely worth the inquiry.
Susan and Joe are delightful owners...always there for your needs. They really make you feel like you're not just staying somewhere. You truly feel as comfortable as if it were your own home. And the house - just look at the pictures, they speak for themselves! It's so much better in person too...the pictures don't do it justice!
Coronado is wonderful because you literally can walk or bike anywhere on the island. I suggest renting a beach cruiser and bike around the island, you won't be disappointed. The shops on Orange Ave are so cute and entertaining. There are great places to eat. The food is so fresh. It was also fun going to Hotel Del where Marilyn Monroe was filmed and just sitting on the white sand, enjoying the moment.
This VRBO is by far my favorite! (I wish I could do more than only 5 stars, for sure!)

Garden cottage oasis
A cozy garden cottage oasis on Fantasy Island, a/k/a Coronado Island--what's not to like! The location is perfect, everything we needed. Love the owners, Susan and Joe, who took care of every need we had in prompt response to any call. We would love to come again. March 2015.

Wonderful in Every Way
The cottage is beautiful and has every convenience that you might need. There's artwork everywhere, and it's set in a lush garden with a trickling fountain outside the front door. There is also a patio area with a grill and fireplace for outdoor dining or just sitting. The interior of the cottage is cozy and attractive, including lots of built-in light fixtures (most of them dimmable, to suit all sorts of moods). There's a very nice wide-screen TV, the WIFI service is excellent, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the washer and dryer are a big plus. The surrounding neighborhood is a quiet and very pleasant place to walk, and it's only about a 15-minute stroll to the downtown area along Orange Avenue, where there are lots of shops and restaurants. On top of all that, the owners - Susan and Joe - are super people.... very friendly and quick to answer your questions or provide any services or support that might be needed, yet respectful of your privacy. Highly recommended!
About the host
Your host
Susan and Joe are active at the Coronado Yacht Club, both active boaters. Susan was a Navy brat and attended pre-school in Coronado in the ealy 1950's. Joe is a San Diego native. Both are retired from Corporate jobs. Susan is a local artist and shows her work at the local "Arts in The Park" twice a month, specializing in mosaic panels for the garden. Joe devotes his time to wood work, building frames for Susan't art, or rebuilding and restoring his 40 trawler, slipped at the Coronado Yacht Club. They are very busy people who are either traveling or creating. They like to rent to people who can appreciate the cottage for it's artistic touches and individuality.
Why they chose this property
This is the most charming cottage in Coronado. It is spacious, well appointed and artfully done both inside and outside. There is a dining area with two wing-back chairs as well as an outside patio with mosaic table and three chairs. There is an office space with desk, and reading couch for lounging or reading. Everywhere you look is artfully done with a lot of space for living. The garden area around the patio is tranquil with the sound of a gurgling pond, surrounded by lush tropical foliage and a four panel mosaic artfully lit with soft lighting. This cottage is comfortable for two adults. Any more than that needs the owner approval prior to renting.
What makes this property unique
This cottage is very private, quiet, and beautifully appointed with art and great lighting both inside and out. The landscaping is maintained by the owners as well as a weekly gardener. The cottage is located in the village within easy walking distance to town, the golf course, parks, ferry and library. No car is needed, but there is a private parking space for your use in the alley away from the street.
