First, I would like to thank our host, Christopher, for his professionalism and attention to detail. He made sure that we were well-informed and comfortable.
The house is situated at the edge of the Cape Cod Sound, overlooking vast, open water. Each day the tide changes and the beach appears and disappears at the base of the sea wall, ushering in turquoise shallows or revealing boulders and scalloped expanses of packed sugar sand. White Horse Beach itself is wide and long, with easy access from the house. The house has a wrap-around porch as well as a side deck, with dining tables, lounge chairs, arm chairs, etc, allowing for multiple options for outdoor eating, relaxing, reading, chatting, and dozing (which we definitely did). The ocean views from the house are open all the way to the horizon, with large windows that allow you to enjoy the water whether you are inside or outside.
The house itself is cozy, with all of the elements necessary to cook, relax, and even work (the internet connection is excellent). There is a true sense of place to the interior, it is not generic. There is a lovely fireplace for cooler nights, and lots of pillows, blankets, and squashy sofas and armchairs to snuggle into.
Just up the road is a tiny fish market called the Lobster Pound (open seasonally from spring to fall) where we were able to find all manner of fresh fish and delicious local lobsters.
In our case, we came to the Fellows House to find a bit of solace during the Covid 19 pandemic, and the month that we spent there was truly restorative. We are grateful to have found this charming, peaceful spot and hope to return!
We highly recommend this property.
