We stayed here for a week. The apartment was very clean, had all the basics we needed. A lovely view, and was a short drive into downtown Juneau. If we ever have the opportunity to visit Juneau again, we would definitely consider staying here again.
Great location out of town, but still close. You can see more eagles out the living room window than at eagle beach. Close to the dipac hatchery which was cool to visit. And lots of awesome trails near by. Owners were frendly. We would definately stay here again.
We enjoyed the lovely view of the tides coming in and out, the bald eagles and other birds on the water. Our daughter loved staying in the loft (fold-up ladder to climb up to it). Everything was clean and the host communicated well.

Perfect for our family of 4
We loved the friendly atmosphere and beautiful view. This place had just what we needed for a family of 4 to enjoy Juneau. Very comfortable beds and pillows, kitchen, welcoming host, easy access to town and serene setting. Thanks for a lovely stay.
The apartment looks over the water which greeted us every morning with the sounds of various birds singing. The place was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. We had to contact the owners due to a beeping from the fire alarm, they quickly replaced the battery, and then contacted us to make sure everything was satisfactory. I would stay here again.
I really loved staying here for a couple nights! The view was lovely- at any time I could look out and see dozens of eagles on the mud flats. The apartment itself was absolutely spotless and very comfortable, with plenty of kitchen supplies for cooking at home!
Gorgeous View...peaceful and comfortable stay! The location is quiet and the owner is available on site if needed. For very elderly or disabled customers it might be a difficult climb up the back steps. For others it is easy access if you don't mind hauling your luggage up a fairly long set of steps. Once you arrive it is well worth it and the bed is very comfortable.
This second floor apartment has everything you need. It has a comfortable bed, a beautiful view and wonderful property managers. The kitchen ballast went out and a time was scheduled immediately to get it fixed! I highly recommend this place if you are coming to Juneau.

Everything was great
The apartment on Douglas Island was perfect for our stay in Juneau. We were close to both hikes and tourist things. A favorite was a walk though the abandoned Treadwell Mine with interpretive signs.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cute little apartment. Kids could play upstairs in the loft while we prepared meals and/or tidied up. We were surprised to find some great hiking trails nearby along with a nice sandy beach/park (not walking distance mind you). We definitely would stay here again should our travels bring us back to Juneau!
Very grateful and satisfied with my stay here. Scenic location. The host responded quickly to things and thought of everything. Even bear spray! Which we are grateful to not have used ;).
I highly recommend staying here. You can hear the eagles and see across the waters.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Beautiful setting on the Gastineau Channel with a steep and rough outside stairwell.
The hosts were accommodative and fulfilled our requests for more pillows and toilet paper. We never saw them, however, and wouldn’t recommend the fold out sofa in the living room.
Property was nice and clean. Amenities was great.
Owner was nice to bring us a Pizza pan when we asked for it.
Kitchen could use additional plates, pots, pans and general cooking essentials.
Only downside is, the place doesn’t have enough sleeping beds for 4 people. But if there are 2 people in party, you can’t beat this place.
The studio was clean and cozy. The hot water was awesome and the view was impressive. Our granddaughter loved the upstairs room! Her own little nest.
The stairs were a little problematic given we had luggage and carrying up our groceries. We're not in our twenties anymore, but fortunately, we can get around well given our age. Over all we were very satisfied.

Juneau Vacation
Thanks very much for sharing your home Merigwen. The view from your home was just like the pictures online. Just beautiful. Your home was very clean and provided all that was needed for our stay at your home. We ate some meals at your home and some meals at restaurants. This was a trip to spend time with our family that lives in Juneau so we were already familiar with the area. Our granddaughters enjoyed spending time with us at your home. My son and his work our just across the channel from your home. Yes we would stay in your home again. Thank you so much for providing a home away from home. Fun trip from Oklahoma, Nancy
Great views, quiet location, even better than described
We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Merigwen’s accessory apartment. The views across the channel were so lovely and relaxing. We enjoyed watching the eagles and shorebirds fish in the tide flats from our livingroom window.
The place was even more spacious than we imagined, especially with the bonus attic. My teens LOVED having that level as their own private refuge! The full kitchen made it easy for us to cook our own meals, sparing us from having to deal with the constant onslaught of cruise ship passengers downtown.
We rented a car, which is an absolute necessity for staying so far out the road on Douglas Island. The payoff is that this area is not touristy at all. You’re living among the locals. We really enjoyed that part of it - it feels like the real deal. Thanks for a comfortable stay!
The place was clean, attractive and comfortable. On inside. Hosts were most accommodating. Because of airline changing tickets and covid we had to revise our stay twice and in fact ended up staying only one night (paid for three when originally planned five nights). Hosts were helpful and understanding. They were highly responsive to requests for chairs to sit outside. With a bit of work, the outside could be more comfortable for guests. Little shade. Also we are healthy seniors so stairs to apartment not a problem for us but could be for others. The location is unique on Gastineau channel without homes or lights in the view across the channel.
My husband came to Juneau as a foreign exchange student from Japan at the age of sixteen. He was the momentary envy of his classmates when during a school assembly it was announced that the country he would be going to was AMERICA. Envy turned to laughter when the state was announced. He wouldn't be going to California or New York but ALASKA. The perceived notion and disappointment of being sent to a frozen wasteland ended when his airplane landed and his love of fishing began. After marrying and living in Japan for several years, we decided to return to Juneau to be closer to family and fishing. My husband is a business consultant. I'm a former teacher who now works seasonally for the Alaska State Legislature. We have three children and a large cat named Skippy.
Why they chose this property
When looking for a place to build our home we both wanted to have a view of something. This location offered not only a view of water and mountains but the Lemon Glacier, as well as beach front. In the summer we see a lot of rainbows and in winter the Northern Lights. Canadian geese and swans stop by as they migrate. Ducks and Bald Eagles are always about. On occasion bear, porcupine and deer wander through the yard.
What makes this property unique
In addition to being in a quite location and having a beautiful view, fishing is only minutes away. King salmon fishing can be done off of the rocks at False Outer Point or in the stream at Fish Creek. Starting about mid-August Silver salmon can be caught right outside the front door and then grilled. A small boat is available if you care to row about during high tide. Hiking and the Alpine Zipline are available at nearby Eagle Crest, Juneau's winter time downhill and cross country ski resort. Or do a short hike on Outer Point Loop Trail or Rainforest trail. A twelve minute car ride to the south of Douglas Island puts you at Sandy Beach and the trails that wind through the ruins of the Treadwell gold mine. Or cross the Juneau-Douglas bridge and be in downtown Juneau in 10 minutes to shop, eat, visit museums, historic sites, ride the tram or hike Perseverance and the Mount Roberts Trails. The Mendenhall Glacier is about a 20 minute drive, as is Auke Bay.
