About this property

Beautiful Cottage on Private Lake close to Manistee

ALL* IS*WELL is a beautiful cottage and clubhouse nestled below tall pines perched on a hill above a clean, deep 90 acre private lake. It's a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty, and close enough to Manistee for shopping, casino, winery, restaurants, and Lake Michigan beach.
The house is tastefully decorated with nice furnishings and décor. It contains all you'd need including linens, towels. There is plenty of outdoor entertaining space on patios and deck, fire pit and down by the lake.
The home has a real wood fireplace, dishwasher, washer & dryer, coffeemaker, microwave and good quality cookware. We also have a new clubhouse, great for overflow, games and entertaining.
We have listened to our guest comments and this spring are installing new steps to the lake, a new foosball table and finishing the clubhouse with electricity and loft area.

Perfect getaway

We loved our time at Cool Lake! The scenery and the remoteness was beautiful for our family vacation. Easy driving to Manistee or for a day trip to Traverse City. The kids loved having a nice outdoor area to play and it was nice to have the amenities offered by the host. Communication was super easy and quick.

Peaceful and private cottage

We really enjoyed our stay at Vicki's cottage! What a private and peaceful lake to kayak, float and fish. The clubhouse was great for board games and playing darts, and we had several good nights for campfires. This location has good wifi and cell phone service. Dublin market really is a convenient spot for all of your needs. Loved the plentiful dishes, mugs, glassware, utensils and cookware! We took a day trip to our favorite Ludington State Park and a rafting float on the Big Manistee River. Some tips/clarification for future visitors, the lake is lovely, but mucky at the shoreline. Paddle boards and kayaks provided were relaxing. Do enter from the dock. The beach area is pea gravel. The stairs down to the lake are a little steeper than expected but doable if you take it slowly. All the comforts of home at a wonderful Up North location! Thanks Vicki!

Beautiful Cabin, Very Peaceful

My family and I had a lovely time in this beautiful cabin on Cool Lake. Vicki, the owner, was super quick to respond to all our questions, friendly, and very helpful. The lake is very peaceful and full of wild life. We saw fish, loons, turtles big and small, deer, turkeys, peacocks, hawks, an eagle...etc.. The water was very clear and perfect for a refreshing swim. There were big fish in Cool Lake to be caught, and Littles Lake, which is a short walk from the house, had amazing bass fishing. At night, we were treated to the lake under a bright, full moon. We made wonderful memories at this rental. If you are looking to get away to a peaceful sanctuary, this is a great place to go.

A lovely retreat

What fun we had spending the week at Cool Lake! The view from the deck was beautiful and the lake so peaceful-perfect for kayaking. Loved listening to the loons and enjoying the quiet, relaxing time on the deck and seating area. The cottage was very well equipped-even took advantage of the crockpot a few times, and Dublin market was just a short distance away if anything was needed. Vicki was quick to respond to any inquiries we had and offered many helpful tips to enhance our stay in the area. Ludington is about 40 miles away and has a fabulous maritime museum and state park. Nathan , the tour guide, is so knowledgeable and even let us steer the ship. You might even get a chance to see the S.S. Badger dock. Vicki certainly provides a carefree and truly relaxing vacation experience! We thank her for sharing her lovely cottage to others!

Clean, Quiet, Serene

My husband and I had an amazing vacation. Everything posted on their site is true in words and pictures, and even better. Clean, very comfortable home with awsome views, and many places to choose to sit with your meal, coffee, or a glass of wine. The water is amazingly clear and cool. Swimming was perfect, and kayaking around the lake daily was breathtakingly peaceful. Loons, eagles, frogs, and fish you can see in the crystal clear waters. Deer with their fawns, and a dozen wild turkeys. Campfires every night with the sound of loons and peacocks in the distance. Amazing stargazing afterward on the dock. We had shooting stars that week. No big town near which makes stargazing so awsome. Though there is a great grocery store very near that has literally everything you would need. From organic options in grocery, to fishing equipment, clothing, etc. 2 restaurants nearby. We preferred the Pines Cafe, though Cozy Kitchen was good for breakfast and lunch. We drove to Glen Arbor, sleeping bear dunes, for a day, just one hour away. Riverside pizza and Art's Tavern are our favorite for food. Beaches of lake michigan are Beautiful. You would think it was the ocean. Our stay there was the best, most peaceful vacation since I was a kid. Only problem was absolutely no communication with any one from cabin. Their hot spot was down all week, but was a blessing in diguise. We enjoyed ourselves with no distractions. Loved it! We're not thrilled with the town of manistee.

clean, relaxing, excellent vacation.

Finding it itcould be hard, but with coordinate given to us took us straight in. Pictures have deceived us before, but not this time. Extremely comfortable, clean, no musty or mold. Everything she said was there , was. Had a little problem at first, their server was down so no outside communication of any kind. Turned out to be a blessing. Everyday swimming, kayaking, campfire, then stargazing on the dock. One night till 4am for meteor showers. Lake is amazingly clear, spring fed. Loons, deer, fawns, wild turkeys, frogs, fish , eagle, and the sound of peacocks at night. And no kidding, NOT BUGGY! No big towns real close, but that's why the stars were so amazing. A great grocery store that literally had everything you need. Next time I'm doing all my shopping there when we get there (even organic options). 2 good little restaurants. Liked the one in Irons better and they stay open for dinner, the other only thru lunch. Vicki answered all my questions and put up with all my texts telling her how excited and happy I was. If you're looking for fast paced, speed boat lake this is not it. But good old fashion swimming, fishing, slow boating, ... This is for your. Close enough to sleeping bear dunes, Glenn Arbor. Didn't care for the town of Manistee though. But didn't go to beaches. Was perfectly content staying at the house. Best vacation since I was a kid. Not

Best Property on the Lake!

We truly enjoyed our week on Cool Lake. The communication with Vicki, the owner, was timely and very helpful. She is friendly and gave us great tips for the surrounding area. The property is secluded, wooded, quiet, and beautiful. We kayaked on Cool Lake, watched loons swim past, and had a great view of some beautiful sunsets. We fished and swam off of the dock, and enjoyed nightly fires at the large fire pit. The lake has a No Wake posting so there are no loud jet skis or boats speeding past. My teens enjoyed hanging out and shooting darts in the separate clubhouse. Overall a wonderful week with many lasting memories made!

Outstanding house!

We had such a great week at this house. It includes so many extras in the house and the paddle boats, kayaks and tubes were perfect for our whole family to be out on the water together. We spent most evenings around the fire pit or playing darts and cards in the clubhouse. The setting is beautiful and we loved the privacy.

Peaceful Cool Lake

This was an amazing trip to Michigan. We had a wonderful time. This was has been our best VRBO. Vicki’s house was beautiful and the accommodations within were beyond exceptional. We felt so relaxed and enjoyed our time with family in the middle of a forest, sitting on a beautiful lake. We would love to return again! We highly recommend Vicki’s house and visiting this picture perfect location. Thanks for having us!

Great Family Stay!

This property was awesome. We have 2 teenage kids and we all had a blast. The house has everything you need. The lake is beautiful. We swam off the dock, used the kayaks and paddle boards, caught some great fish and had beautiful camp fires at night. The kitchen had everything for great dinners. There is a small store up the road which had great steaks, and we went to Manistee for other provisions, a 20 minute ride. We could not think of one thing we would have changed or wanted out of an up north rental. We will definitely be back!

All the amenities

This property worked out really well for our family vacation. The house has so many places to sit and enjoy the outdoors—deck area, firepit area with lots of comfy seating, and a really nice seating area on the terrace with a fabulous view. The property is very quiet and peaceful. We spent hours out on the water kayaking, paddle boarding, and floating on rafts. The clubhouse is also fantastic for gathering and playing games (darts, foosball, cards, board games). I’d say especially if you have teens or tweens, this house is fantastic! The lake might be a little trickier if you have toddlers—you can’t really wade in and it gets deep quickly. The kitchen is well-stocked, more so than any property we’ve ever rented through VRBO before— plenty of pots and pans, utensils etc. We like to be able to eat in as much as possible on vacation. We visited Manistee (20 minutes away) and really enjoyed Fishbone restaurant and Goody’s for coffee and baked goods though. We also visited Ludington and did a little hiking around the dunes. Thanks for sharing your house with us!

Beautiful Secluded Getaway

What can I say-The perfect getaway. My wife, 9 year old son and myself loved it. Wonderful setup, so much room and comfort - and the views were to amazing. We sat on the dock and watched bald eagles catch fish, something we do not see around metro Detroit I can assure you. A family of deer visited every night as well. We swam, kayaked, watched and listened to the loons every day. Visited Manistee and took a great boat cruise. Quick trips to Traverse and Sleeping Bear Dunes were fantastic as well. A perfect blend of relaxing and adventures. And plenty to do for our son with the clubhouse and swimming. The only problem we had is the water is super deep off the dock so we couldn’t really throw a ball around in the water - but we still had a blast. 100% would recommend and I hope we are lucky enough to go back. Thank you for opening up this little paradise for us.

Great Family Getaway

We had a great time at this lake house. The house was beautiful with plenty of room for 6 adults. We enjoyed the lake, the kayaks, the paddle boards, and the other lake toys provided. The attached lodge provided us extra entertainment with dart board, and fooz ball table. We also enjoyed night time bon fires. We were about an hour from Sleeping Bear Dunes and Traverse City so we were visit those sites too. Vicky was just a text away with any questions that we had.

Very nice cabin in a secluded location with lots of wildlife.

My family really enjoyed the cabin on cool lake. The cabin was clean and well stocked with everything that we needed. The Dublin store a few miles away has everything that you could need, no need to go anywhere. The kids really enjoyed the fooseball table in the clubhouse and the Kayaks. Our family would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing home on a lake.

Perfect cottage for families with active children!

This was the perfect setup for our family! We stayed with our three children (10, 8 & 5) and had an absolute blast! My kids loved hanging out in the clubhouse and enjoyed having their own space. The property is so private that the kids could totally explore the wooded area around the cottage - we barely saw or heard any neighbors, even on the lake itself. We swam every day - the water was crystal clear. The kids caught tons of fish and frogs right off the dock. We made great use of the kayak & paddle board and had a fire every night. The amenities inside the cottage were top notch - great cookware & utensils, comfy beds & linens, loads of beach towels, lots of games in the cabinet. Cute decor inside and super comfortable throughout. We had the best time and hope to book some time next year! There is really nothing negative I can say about the place! It was perfect for us!

We love up north and the area for it's beauty and fun. We hike, kayak, swim, fish, and ski there. We also like to participate in the local triathlons and marathons in Traverse and Glen Lake areas. Our family just loves being together then, year round!!

Why they chose this property

Beauty is remarkable! Hilly view of lake and best of all, not buggy!!
