The cabin was well suited for our big group of friends. The big hot tub, basketball court, volleyball court, and the river provided us with lots to do outside on top of the spacious inside area. The house was well stocked with kitchen items and lots of beds. No regular, unbroken ping pong balls were available though.
Beautiful property that was exactly as it was described. So many amenities that we did not have to spend our time finding things to do. We had a wonderful day and a great family memory was made.
Amazing property! Floating in the river on the various water vessels provided was the highlight for me, personally. It was an incredibly relaxing vacation and the scenery was beyond beautiful

Good stay but bad experience w/ follow-up
We enjoyed the cabin. We found some fun things to do in the area. It takes a very long time to get to the house from the front gate but there isn’t anything you can do about that.
The river was beautiful to watch and listen to and we spent a good bit of time in the cold water.
Our growing family was able to comfortably stay in the rooms and have our own space while also able to be together in the common areas.
We planned to leave a better score but ran into some problems after our stay. We were charged for things and spoken to disrespectfully. A teenage member of our family is non-verbal and has special needs. When she first saw the river, she was very excited and jumped up and down on the balcony really hard. Immediately following her jump, the lights globe below her crashed to the floor. We thought it was already loose, voluntarily told the owners that it broke, and planned to pay for the broken piece. When speaking to the man who owns the cabin, he told us multiple times that what happened didn’t actually happen and that they replaced the entire fan so we would be paying for the entire fan/light kit plus labor. Everything we did was done w/ integrity but it seems like Ian has some trust issues with visitors. He all but called us liars.
Sarah did a great job making us feel welcome and communicating while we were at the cabin. We were excited to find a place that we could return to year after year but we don’t plan to get tangled up with Ian again.
We had 16 people total, 5 adults and 11 kids. We could have stayed the entire weekend and never left the cabin, it was better than we could have imagined, plenty of room, games to play and even tho it was cold the river was a blast! We will definitely be back!
Wow! Just wow! This place is incredible! The direct private access to the river provided our group with hours upon hours of fun! We felt like it was all the best parts of camping without having to “rough it.” The bedrooms on three different stories of the cabin gave each family some personal space while still feeling connected and open. The kitchen is fully stocked and had everything we needed to make lots of family meals.
There is something for everybody here! Our littles enjoyed playing in the warm sun along the sandy river shore, our older kids spent hours tubing, rock hopping and rope swinging into the river and playing volleyball and basketball. The adults enjoyed fishing, kayaking, relaxing in the hammock swings and soaking in the hot tub. Our entire group drove to the tubing out in spot and tubed 2 hours down the river which was a blast. We were so thankful for the special memories made in such a gem of a location!
Once again we spent a wonderful weekend at Rocky River. It's the perfect place for a group gathering. There's ample space for all to spread out, and also enjoy meal times together. This year the weather wasn't so great but we didn't mind hanging around the well appointed cabin. Sarah and Ian are the perfect hosts and will do everything they can to help with anything that might come up. We keep on coming back every year because it's a perfect fit for our group. I highly recommend Rocky River for your next family gathering.
Our church brought our young adult group here for a weekend of rest and it did not disappoint! The property and cabin were perfect. Everything inside and out was just spotless. Ian was very responsive and helpful when I reached out with a couple of questions. It exceeded all expectations!! It is the perfect spot for a retreat weekend. We will be returning!
We had a bunch of friends get together to enjoy a relaxing weekend, and there were zero complaints. Communication and check in were a breeze. The house was clean and packed with amenities. We would definitely stay here again without a second thought.
Great location! For the money I paid for three nights it was not up to my standards! Very damp smelling and not clean enough!if u have allergies it’s not the place for u.
Myself and a large group of friends visited the Rocky River Cabin in June of 2024 and had an absolute blast. The property was beautiful and had so many things to do. The pictures truly don’t do it justice. The surrounding area is beautiful and clean. Would definitely stay at this Cabin again and highly recommend it for anyone wanting a fun and relaxing time in the mountains of North Georgia!
This was a great stay for my small group! We had 18 adults and were incredibly comfortable during our stay and loved the time outside on the property especially!
We had a wonderful time here! The basketball court, volleyball net, ping pong table and foosball kept the kids busy. The house was close enough to Ellijay's cute little town with great restaurants. We loved seeing all the deer around!
The cabin is great and has a lot of good things about it. Tons of activities and a hot tub that was very clean when we got there. Rules were easy to follow and had a great view of the River. We would come back to this next time we do a mountain trip.
The cabin was beautiful and was a perfect location for our Christmas family vacation.

About the host
Hosted by Sarah Hamilton and Ian Hamilton
Hi, my name is Sarah Hamilton. Our family recently purchased our second cabin "Rocky River Lodge" which is the sister cabin located next door to Riverstone Lodge. We as a family have been upgrading the two cabins trying to make the two best destinations around. Being somewhat local living in Douglasville we still enjoying getting away the North Georgia Mountains!
Why they chose this property
In all our travels in North Georgia we could not find any other cabin with its location on the water that gave us the feel and sound of the rushing waters! And the fact its in a gated community of the Coosawattee River resort allows for a safe and enjoyable environment. The cabin its self is located on a wide river with many beautiful rapids, which allows for canoeing, kayaking, and tube trips. And you cannot forget the fishing and swimming! That's why we now have both sister cabins!
What makes this property unique
The cabin has just about everything you could imagine! We offer at no charge canoes and tubes. Many renters put in above us up the river and float down to our back yard! We have a basket ball court, volleyball court, horse shoes and shuffle board, 7 person hot tub along with incredible views and a water presence second to none. And then you have the game room with a pool table, ping pong, and foosball tables! You will be entertained and laid back. And if you still need the flat screen tv's and internet we have that too!
On top of that, we have another "sister cabin" owned and operated by the same people. If you are looking to have a larger gathering , book both of our properties easily.
