Great bird watching, fishing, and boating. Very serene environment with quiet neighborhood and preserve across the lake.

Our time at this lovely lake house couldn’t have been more perfect. The house itself totally matched the description and was clean, thoughtfully decorated, quiet, and very comfortable. Everything we could have needed was there. For us, the best part of our stay was sitting outback facing the lake and watching the birds: cormorants, anhinga, Muscovy ducks, white ibises, egrets, great blue herons, pelicans, sandhill cranes, moorhens, coots, a limpkin, a hawk, an occasional woodpecker and cardinal, even the boat-tailed grackles and the cowbirds! What a grand parade!Outings included nearby spring training baseball and visits to Polk county parks. The best was Circle B Bar Reserve which we visited three times. (Incredible wildlife observations!) We also enjoyed Bok Tower Gardens, Bonnet Springs Park and Mackay Reserve right across the lake. The architecture tour of Frank Lloyd Wright’s works at Florida Southern College was also a highlight - not to be missed. Paddling along the shoreline was also very enjoyable. We hope to be in the area again next winter to visit our granddaughter who will be participating in the Disney college internship program. And we hope to be able to stay at this lovely location again!Thank you, Seeleys, for sharing your home.Irma and Woody Graf
I was visiting to try to find a permanent home near Winter Haven. This home was the perfect home base for my stay. The Seeley’s are the perfect hosts and I will definitely keep them in mind for any future VRBO needs.
The property is as described on VRBO. It is "stocked" extremely well. The linens, towels etc are very nice. The home is clean & so conducive to just relax. We loved the quiet neighborhood, we felt very safe on our walks. We especially appreciated the full array of bird life we saw, every day we identified a new bird. The alligators were entertaining!
The owners were always available & helpful. That was appreciated. We highly recommend this property. We would love to return.
We stayed here in January. It was our second stay in this home. The Seeley's are wonderful to rent from. The lake and the fenced in yard for our dog are the reasons we stayed here. The house is well stocked. It is in a good location, very convenient to all stores and many restaurants. We seen some pretty cool wildlife. An Eagle and Otters hung around the dock at times. Overall, a nice place to stay!
Very easy check in and check out.
The property was in a quiet location with little to no street noise. The lake was active with wildlife including herons, limpkins, and eagles; on the dock and in the tree.
Occasionally we saw people fishing from their boats, people water skiing, and float planes landing and taking off on the lake.
The property was close but not too close to grocery stores, restaurants, and parks.
We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return again some day.
The Seeley’s are wonderful! and very communicative. Their home and property are lovely; the house felt like home. Day trips to the coast and neighboring cities are 2 1/2-3 hours away. Perfect! We took our dogs and walked them in the friendly neighborhood. We all had an awesome time! WOULD RECOMMEND!!!
This home was very well equipped with everything we needed including dishes, cookware, binoculars, large fenced in yard as well as a dock for fishing, viewing birds, including eagles, and a few gators! Owners were very communicative throughout our stay of 3 weeks. We loved having the garage to keep our bikes safe as well! All in all, a great home!!!
We had a wonderful time during our stay at the lake house. The owners were very attentive and accommodating. We rented a pontoon for a day on the lakes and enjoyed exploring the area. Our puppy loved the fenced in back yard! Almost every day we had one or two bald eagles land on the dock and hang out. Nice location close to everything, yet far enough away to experience the natural beauty of the lake. Very quiet neighborhood!
Nice place to kick back, unwind and enjoy nature. Bass fishing from dock was great. Caught several between 3 and 4 lbs. Home was cozy and well stocked. Any supplies needed were just 10 mins away (Publix, ABC, Wal-Mart). Communication with owner (Taryn) was easy and seamless. All worked out great and all had great time during our 9-day stay. Highly recommend. Thank you!

Wonderful lakefront retreat!
We loved our 20 days at this lakefront rental while we awaited our closing on our home! The three levels gave each of us our own space and the beautiful bathrooms made it feel like a retreat! My kids loved the canoe and kayak and fishing equipment and the dogs loved the fully fenced yard. My favorite part was watching the World Barefoot Center ski right off the property almost every day. We ate most of our dinners on the back porch to enjoy the beautiful wildlife and scenery even though it was hot being the middle of summer. Communication from the owners was outstanding, and their hospitality truly made it feel like home. Thank you!!
The house was everything we expected it to be and more. The kitchen was roomy and well equipped. In our 19 day stay we only ate out one time. The kitchen served us well. The master suite area was large and also had a walk in closet. The beds were very comfortable. The master bath was also large and pretty.
We caught the attention of the neighbor one day and enjoyed visiting with them off and on during our visit. To be clear, we approached the neighbor to visit, not the other way around.
We enjoyed 2 walks per day through the neighborhood with our dog. Nice scenery with the flowers and Spanish moss.
We also surprisingly really enjoyed bird watching. So many beautiful birds including a bald eagle.
The owners accommodated an early check in and were responsive and available though out our stay.
It was a great rental for us. The owners are absolutely the best! Communication was awesome! We were there during hurricane Ian. The owners were very supportive.
Our stay at the Seeley's Lakehouse was a peaceful retreat during our busy vacation to Florida. Most of the time spent at the house was spent in the backyard admiring the fantastic view of Lake Rochelle. We loved listening to, photographing and identifying all the varieties of birds we saw around the property and we saw a wide variety of bird species we had never seen before. We even saw a few small alligators sunning on the edge of the water outside the gated backyard. What a thrill for out of staters who had never seen gators before!! On the first night of our stay we discovered that the A/C unit burned out and the Seeley's were absolutely fantastic with their communication and their willingness to get it fixed immediately and without issue. Everything we needed during our stay was provided from towels, to hand soap, to kitchen cooking items, a coffee maker, extra pillows and blankets, and a propane grill out back. Anything we did need during our stay was easily purchased at stores a short drive away. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly, so we felt absolutely at ease and comfortable during our visit. It was an easy short drive to Legoland or Bok Tower and only roughly an hour to the Disney Parks, depending on traffic. I would highly recommend this vacation rental and the Seeley's to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Winter Haven area and will absolutely stay here again the next time we are in the area.
My husband & I, plus our 11# cavalier enjoyed our stay at the lake rochelle home. The home was completely equipped with everything we would need. It was clean, the appliances worked wonderfully, the grounds gave us privacy to use the patio for grilling or simply enjoying a cool drink. We especially appreciated the quiet & friendly neighborhood. A safe place to walk & enjoy the weather. Yes, we did see the neighborhood alligator, lounging by the bank. The different species of birds we saw was a visual pleasure. Check in was efficient & contact with the Seeley's was always available if we would need anything. We have stayed with other VRBO homes, this home definitely is rated very high. Thank you for a wonderful winter get-a-way.
The property is as shown on the website. Beautiful back yard, facing the lake with a dock. My husband caught a lot of bass during our stay and the dogs loved the fenced yard. I would definitely recommend this property.
We had a wonderful time. We loved the fenced in yard for our dog. The home was well stocked and convenient to everything. The cypress garden ski club was practicing on Lake Rochelle and gave us quite a ski show. Loved listening to the numerous birds. We saw an owl, eagles, and a small gator.
We truly enjoyed our vacation at your home on the lake. We we were only a few minutes from our son. My husband cought several fish even caught a gator while fishing. We would definatly stay here again. Thank you Taryn and vrbo.
We had great stay, the property description was exactly as listed. Great place if you have dogs, they thoroughly enjoyed the large fenced in yard. The Seely's were great to deal with and had everything ready to go upon our arrival. Look forward to renting again soon, thanks again for your hospitality.

This really is our little getaway house. We escape from city life and head to the lake. We hope you love it as much as we do. It's very well appointed vs. most vacation rentals since it's truly our second home.
Why they chose this property
Great view, preserve across the lake, very quiet and serene.
What makes this property unique
Bring your boat if you'd like! Dock it right behind the house. And the fully fenced yard will keep your pets safe.
