Far Cry is a 1935 newly renovated 1 bedroom cottage nestled in the foothills of Colorado Springs. It is conveniently located steps from Stratton Open Space with numerous trails for hiking and biking, minutes from Seven Falls, North Cheyenne Canon, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the famed 5 star Broadmoor Hotel. Create your own meals in a fully equipped kitchen or grill your favorite dinner on the deck overlooking the city. We supply a selection of coffee and teas for your enjoyment. Your dishes, flatware, and glasses are all provided.
Luxury bedding makes the cozy bedroom, with a queen size bed, a delightful escape.
Your bathroom will provide a tub/shower combo, heated tile floors, a washer/dryer combo and luxury amenities.
The living room is sunny and bright, with 7 large windows, mountain and city views,
A gas fireplace provides a delightful bit of evening heat. The living room opens on to a sunny deck for your morning coffee and a grill if you desire an evening meal at home.
TV and Free WiFi are available and if you listen carefully your may hear the quarter hour chimes and an occasional song from Will Rogers Shrine on Cheyenne Mountain.

Perfect cottage

We loved this cheerful and cozy cottage. The natural light was lovely and the cottage itself was peaceful and quiet. It was comfortable and very convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. If we’re ever in Colorado Springs again, we’ll book another stay here!

The cottage is adorable. It is very small, but we knew that when we rented it. It’s very quiet with lots of privacy. Probably a little too small if you’re a large person. My husband is 6’2, so we probably could have used more space as we stayed for 10 days. Again, we knew it was small so it was advertised very accurately. The dark out shades in the bedroom was a bonus. Gets super dark at night which we loved.

Truly 5 star place and experience

This is a delightful cottage and setting in a quiet area backed by trees, lots of bird life. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay even with the wet, stormy weather over the weekend as the cottage is cozy and comfortable, has everything we needed to prepare meals and easy access to hiking and other amazing places nearby such as The Garden of the Gods Park and Broadmoor Hotel. We highly recommend Far Cry and hope to stay again! Thanks, Bet, for a lovely experience.

Perfect Getaway For Us

The 4 nights we stayed at the Far Cry Cottage were perfect for us. We loved breakfast on the back porch, the quiet neighborhood, and the private feel of the cottage. We enjoyed picking up early morning espressos at the nearby Caffeinated Cow, walks along nearby trails, and dinner at the Golden Bee and other restaurants in Colorado Springs and the area. Bet, the host, was wonderfully responsive to our questions and needs.

This is a great place to stay, the house itself feels like a treehouse as you are sorta above a tree canopy. Blazing fast internet allowed me to work while my wife was at a conference. This house was clean and really well kept and charming

The Perfect Getaway

Everything about the cottage was thoughtful and created a relaxing environment. The morning sunshine coming through the windows was the perfect way to wake up. The location was great. The proximity to all things Colorado Springs is just right, while still being tucked up near the Broadmoor. At the last minute, our return flights were canceled. We reached out to Bet and we were able to extend an additional night, no hassles. We would return in a heartbeat!

I have owned this cottage for many years and grew up in this area attending local schools and hiking this area for many many years. For me it is the perfect location for a peaceful retreat or a busy vacation.

Why they chose this property

The property is located in the southwest of Colorado Springs. It is a fun, quaint and quirky neighborhood with narrow winding roads and tiny houses. The area originally housed many TB patients coming for the cure in the pure mountain air! Medicine thought it was a benefit to sleep in unheated porches and many of the little houses were home to many of these patients.

What makes this property unique

All who come to stay or visit this property seem to love the cozy feeling it brings and the wonderful sunny rooms. The property offers a wonderful location if you just want to relax, be busy hiking or seeing this spectacular city! Autumn is especially lovely. Clear blue skies, cool nights, shimmering aspen and colorful scrub oak make this a delightful retreat!
