Sunset Chalet - 3Bed, Loft, 2Bath - Sleeps up to 12

Built in 2005, this accommodating ski chalet is designed and furnished specifically for family vacations. It's perfect for 6-10 people (1-2 families). Very nice for small retreats, dual family vacations, or small youth groups. We have a family of six (four children) and often entertain another family of four for the weekend. Works perfectly.

Come stay and enjoy everything that Winter Park and Grand County have to offer.
Located in the Ptarmigan subdivision above the Safeway in Fraser, this unique location provides the availability of all town services including free shuttle service all over town, down the hill to Safeway, the tubing hill, and of course the ski area.

Excellent!

Ryan and Tracy's house was exceptionally clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Ryan was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay and we were very impressed overall. We would absolutely stay here again.

Mountain Weekend

This was a great house to stay for a dad's golf weekend. Pictures and description were accurate. Everything was as stated and we did not have any issues. The house was well equipped and it is one of the first homes I've rented where the hot tub was working at its normal settings. Great experience!!

Great mountain home!

This was our second time staying at the Sunset Chalet - we had previously spent a weekend here in the winter for skiing. It was just as great in the summer! Plenty of space for our group, great views, clean hot tub, fantastic location. Ryan and Tracy were so accommodating and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous mountain rental with Peak views!

We spent a wonderful weekend at this beautiful property!! The views from this home are nothing short of gorgeous and there is so much to see and do right in walking distance. We saw marmot, bald eagles, deer, and all sorts of other wildlife while enjoying a gentle breeze on the deck of this home. The kitchen was so well outfitted, we wanted for nothing. Owner was very responsive and accommodating...would stay here again without question. Thank you so much!

Family Christmas in January

Our family comes to the Winter Park/Fraser area each January to celebrate late Christmas with our son and daughter-in-law who live in Tabernash and work at the resort. We have rented several different properties in the area over the years and Sunset Chalet ranks highly among my favorites. This is a true family home in every aspect. Due to the size of our expanding family, we cook. Everyone has plenty of room in the open kitchen/living area to help prep while watching the game on tv, and the local Safeway is conveniently down the hill. The view from the main living area is breathtaking and there is now a grill on the patio area (not pictured). The garage easily houses two vehicles with room for two more outside. There are ample bed arrangements for each type of group. We always bring the family fur babies, and I was delighted to find a "doggie door" conveniently located in the kitchen, leading to an enclosed area for the dogs to do their duties and roam without fear of wandering off. The only drawback is the stairs, but this has been a given in every property we have rented. Sunset Chalet is conveniently located between Winter Park Resort and Tabernash for those who love mountain sports, fly fishing, you name it. We all loved this home and will definitely consider renting again in the future.

An excellent stay in Fraser at Ryan’s property. House was warm and inviting and the perfect location for our after Thanksgiving weekend. I really appreciated Ryan’s communication and he made us feel right at home! We hope to go back soon!!

Excellent mountain retreat!

This place was the perfect home for our Spring Break. We had two families with children and there was plenty of room. The hot tub was amazing, the ski shuttle picks up out front, the views were great.... all in all a fantastic stay. Ryan was the consummate host, with an excellent response time and a great attention to detail. In short, we wanted for nothing and will definitely look to book this place again.

beautiful and cozy space - perfect for Girls weekend

enjoyed a girls weekend get away in this lovely home. In between Winter Park Resort and Devils Thumb Ranch/Spa - terrific for all! Kitchen well stocked for eat in meals and wood burning stove kept us all toasty warm! Garage also nice to avoid the morning ice scrape.

Awesome ski house!!!

This house is great, plenty of room to stretch out and get comfortable. Bedrooms were great and bunk room for the kids was perfect, kitchen had all the appliances and utensils you need to have great family dinners. The private hot tub is so nice after a hard day of skiing, we used it every day. The bus line stops right at the end of the driveway, download the app and it tells you when the bus will be there. It's a short ride to the mountain and the bus drivers are all so nice. Plenty of places to shop in downtown Winter Park and some really fun places to eat, went to the Ditch for some salsa and queso and had one of the best (strongest) margaritas ever, good thing we took the bus. Overall we had a great family vacation and the house was a big reason, I would defiantly rent this property again.

Beautiful home...

Convenient Location & Friendly Owner

This was a perfect home for my ski team of 10 to stay at for a ski race. There was room to spread out and Ryan was very responsive when we had questions. The home is located very close to the grocery store and within 10 minutes of the Winter Park parking lot. We will certainly stay here again!

Great property, but unprepared for 11 guests

The property was perfect for a big crew and offered great amenities; overall we enjoyed our stay. That said, we were disappointed when setting up the beds for the first night to find that there weren't any sheets or pillowcases for the two futons. And we were clear in our reservation that there were 11 people staying at the property. It forced one adult to sleep with a child in one of the single bunk beds, and the other two who slept on the futons had to use towels for pillowcases and sheets. It was also disappointing when we called the owners to ask about linens that they only offered an apology, not a solution or suggestion for how to handle the situation, nor did they offer any sort of refund to compensate for the inconvenience. All that was said was, "Oh, the previous guests used all the linens...." For as much money as we spent for two nights, the minimum we expected was linens for the beds and pillows.

Great house for 2 families at Christmas

House was perfect. Ryan was easy to work with and very helpful. Being directly on the bus line was incredibly convenient; even the kids could carry their ski gear to the bottom of the driveway. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. Sound system connected with our phone for music. Hot tub was appreciated after long ski days. It was even decorated for Christmas. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back.

Excellent stay!!

Such a beautiful home with all the right mountain feels. Really nice natural lighting was so pleasant.. As well as the attention to detail and all the amenities. This place gets 5 stars from me all day. Would reccomend this to anyone!!

Vacation Heaven

July 2017 will be a favorite memory forever. Spent the month in this beautiful, spacious, and comfortable home. The location is outstanding. The views from the deck were spectacular. Sunsets, soaking up the sun, morning coffee, or any excuse to enjoy the view. The beds were oh so comfortable, as well as the furnishings. Owners provided everything we needed and more. Best of all, we brought our two dogs. They enjoyed the dog run, as well as walks in the neighborhood. We enjoyed at least 2 walks a day on the neighboring roads, meadows, and trails. Couldn't ask for a better location. Close to grocery store, restaurants, hiking, biking, and town. We had a car, but also made use of the free shuttle bus that stops right at the end of the driveway. Will be back next year and possibly this ski season as well. So grateful we chose Sunset Chalet!

Awesome winter park house

After staying in the Winter Park/Fraser area many times, renting condos and houses, we decided we wanted a place of our own that would fit our family of 6 along with another small family.

Why they chose this property

We love the location in Fraser above the Safeway and on the bus route. This location allows us to catch the bus to the ski area right at the end of the driveway. We built the house to match what we consider to be a traditional ski chalet, with high vaulted wood ceilings, wood burning stove, great room, three bedrooms (one with bunks), and a small deck out back with a hot tub.
