Check in was easy and accurate details making it easy to find. Had a small issue that was handled our stay in anyway! immediately without affectingyanyway!
This hilltop retreat takes you away from the traffic and bustle around the lake but is only a mile from the major highway. The host is very helpful and responsive.
Brought family in from all over to watch eclipse. Deck was ideal spot. We had a few minor issues that were resolved ultra quickly -- above and beyond expectations. Comm was rapid and complete. Able to cook in with well-equipped kitchen and grill.
And the fact the skies parted over the house during the eclipse was crazy. The only time we really saw the sun in three days. Memories for a lifetime, and a gorgeous and comfortable place to make them.
Where do I start, it was just breath taken my family and I enjoyed the house the shower the beds the space everything was perfect. We like the deck and the landscape .
We had a lovely time here. Beautiful views from the picture window and the back deck. The beds were comfy and the kitchen was well appointed. My daughter learned to play foosball on the downstairs table and her uncle got to stargaze with her on the provided telescope. Thanks for the great memories!
Great house. Very private! Beautiful views and great setting. On several secluded acres. Couldn’t ask for better communication from property management. A Plus Plus!!!
The house is so fun, lots of character, great location out of town.
We loved this house! There was so much character in a very cool and practical way. I would most highly recommend this house for a quiet getaway yet a short drive to the heart of Austin. The checkin and checkout process was very quick and easy, the hosts were attentive yet let us have our space and trusted us to be good to their home.
Pros: This property is very private, however short drive from everything! It was clean, well equipped with everything you need and we enjoyed the hot tub... But the best thing about this place was the nature! We were observing countless humming birds from the giant window upstairs feeding from the flowers on the tree right next to the house. We spotted roadrunner bird, which was very cool! We did kayaking at lake Travis for most days and dined at local restaurants. We will be back!
(Cons: The only thing I can think of that was unpleasant was that the fridge and freezer was full of left over food and out of date condiments. But that was a quick fix and we soon felt like at home.)
The property was not well kept Was not clean. We found an old French fry in the sink and rat droppings on the wood burning fireplace. Pet hair all over the furniture and pet smell as you walk in the house. There were two big dogs that would come by several times when we were sitting outside. They surprised us when we were having our dinner and went into our trash in the evening.
When we sent the property manager photos of the issues, he did not respond.
Would not recommend this property.
The outdoor patio views and sunset was stunning. We all really enjoyed the hot tub and the living room areas. All beds were really comfortable and the place was very clean! Great host too!!
We had a nice week at the house on the hill. The views were great, communication with the owner was great, no issues at all. I will say that the first bed downstairs from the back door is a little uncomfortable and worn in. Other than that the house was well appointed and easily accessible. We will definitely be back.
The house location is out of town so it is a bit of a drive to downtown attractions but we found lots of local places to check out. The house had plenty of room and we loved the lay out. Two suggestions to make it even better: 1) attention to minor details (fill propane tanks) and 2) strongly suggest creating a book with the house rules, check-in/out info, details on hot tub, steam shower, and local attractions. I’d still give it a five ans would rent again if in Austin. Thanks.
Property has nice views of hills and trees and is in a very quiet location but not too far from restaurants. Was exactly the kind of trip we were looking for. Home is well equipped and the steam shower is a great bonus experience. Fire pit is wonderful to enjoy in the evenings. We used chrome cast on our phones to use the tv with our existing cable subscription. Wifi was good. No problems at all. Thanks for a great stay!
Clean, Quiet House for a Relaxing Anniversary Weekend
Kari was an amazing host, giving us great directions on how to get there and get into the house, as well as answering all of our questions quickly throughout our stay. The hot tub and steam shower were amazing!!! The house was very clean and the quiet was really peaceful and relaxing. Even though it seems secluded, the house was really close to a lot of fun activities and restaurants. Views were fantastic! House was well-equipped. The only thing that was a little strange for me was there was a TV downstairs but no good place for my husband and I to sit together to curl up and watch a movie. There was a huge couch in the upstairs living room, but no TV. We ended up just watching TV in the master bedroom upstairs. No big deal. We made it work and it was a nice time.
We really enjoyed our 6 night stay at the house on the hill. Great location with privacy and beautiful views. Kari was awesome and replied to any questions we had.
The "House on the Hill" was located on a hill overlooking the LakeTravis Lakeway area. The views from the deck were spectacular. The house and surrounding area was quiet but conveniently located to restaurants and activities. The bedrooms, hot tub and awesome steam shower were as advertised. I would definitely stay there again on my next visit to the Lake Travis area
Excellent communication throughout. Felt very safe with the gated area and enjoyed the privacy. The views from deck are great. Saw deer & foxes. Loved the steam shower and foosball table. Highly recommended!!!
Loved the house, the privacy, the views and the proximity to all great places/activities of the Hill Country. We definitely recommend it for a small family or small group of friends.
We loved this rental. It's secluded, but still close to all the fun stuff Lake Travis has to offer. The parking was a selling point for us. We were able to bring our boat with no issues at all.
It took us a while to figure out the Nest thermostat and we were a little sad that the hot tub was not available for us to use, but all in all it was great! Kari was super responsive and gave us reccomendations for resturants and checked in on us a couple of times during our stay.
Like others have said, this is a hidden gem of a place. Plenty of seating inside and outside. The steam room is intense but super cool and unique. The kitchen is modern and cute with plenty of pots/pans/utensils.
This was our first time staying in this part of Austin and our first time on Lake Travis. Will be back!
