East Otis, MA, Waterfront Summer Cottage, Big Pond,
Rental is weekly: Sunday to Sunday. This charming waterfront cottage is located on the pristine 333 acre lake known as Big Pond, one of the Berkshires most hidden treasures. Enjoy and relax on the deck as you watch the sunrise every morning or just to enjoy the beauty of the lake at your fingertips. This cottage sleeps 6 comfortably with 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with a queen bed and a loft with two single beds. The loft is accessible by a ladder. There is a large spacious living room with a wood stove to enjoy on a cool night if you are not having a fire on the beach in the fire pit. It also has a large spacious kitchen and dining area. This cottage is rustic with imperfections and is completely furnished. Heat source is a wood stove and wood is provided. If you are not relaxing on the deck you can sit on our privately owned beach area and relax by the waters edge. There are beach chairs to use, a dock to sit on and a raft to swim to. This cottage sits in a little cove and is ideal for young children because the water is shallow near the dock and they can walk out about 50 feet before it starts getting deep. The lake is clean and ideal for swimming, fishing, kayaking, boating, windsurfing and so much more.

Exactly as promised. Because of the unexpected cold temperatures we had the pleasure of lighting up the wood stove in the mornings and it worked great to take the chill out of the air.
Our stay was wonderful. The cabin was just as described. The waterfront was phenomenal! Debbie and Christine could not have been lovlier. Our special needs niece

Lake house vacation. Thank you!
My family enjoyed staying on Big Pond. We were able to go swimming every day and relaxed overlooking the water. The living room is very comfortable with many comfy places to sit. The kitchen is well equipped, but I would bring my own nonstick pan next time. There are plenty of places to sit and relax by the fire pit. We brought our own chairs but found we didn’t need them. There are convenient stores close by that made it easy for us to run out and get replacement groceries. Overall my family had a great time on this trip.
Rustic cabin with a great lake location. The outdoor and indoor space was comfortable for two seniors , young parents with a new born and preschool children. Used my two weeks to visit family enjoy nature. Many of the days were rainy. We found many things to do with in a 20 min drive.
The place was exactly what we were looking for. The owners were very attentive to what we needed and extremely friendly. We also met some very nice neighbors, Mike and Cathy. Our dog Tia, even made a new friend with their dog Finnigan. They bounced around together, all week long. We would love to go back but the owner's dogs were not as friendly to our dog, as we would have liked them to be. The owner did take them home for the majority of the week which eliminated the concern. When they were there I was continously worrying about the dogs interactions. Other then that, it was a beautiful week. Thank you Chris , Mike, Cathy, and Deb for the great time.
We were very pleased with our cozy cottage. It was very clean when we arrived and had all the kitchen supplies that we could ask for. The host, Debbie was very thorough with her directions and also needed items to bring. The location was beautiful, and we were so grateful for the lovely view from the cottage.
great place to have a vacation :-) just bring food, bathing suits, towels!!! cabin has basically all your other needs for inside and outside. looking forward to planning to go back. Thank you for the great memories
This was a cozy camp nestled in a sweet shallow cove. Watched eagles fly and ospreys diving for fish. It's a basic no frills camp, but the location can't be beat! Owners are very responsive and helpful with local info. Would recommend.
Down a dirt road to a hidden nook of the Bershires. this house abuts a lovely lake and has a deck that overlooks the water. All you'll hear is birdsong and an occasional outboard (no cars!) The rustic home is clean and practically free of bugs. Owners are friendly and responsive. Relaxing on the deck was heaven.
Great dock, great fire pit, great deck, great indoor fireplace! Loved having the kayaks snd canoe to paddle around the gorgeous lake. If you’re looking for architectural perfection and all the mod cons (beds are v basic, no alternate heat source, etc.) maybe look elsewhere but if you’re looking for a genuine old school, charmingly rustic cottage on beautiful lake look no further.
We had a lovely time in Otis! The hosts were kind and responsive. The cabin is cozy and comfortable, with a wood stove that we used a lot and enjoyed as the weather was chilly while we were there! The lake is beautiful. It was so nice to be in a rural place for the transition from summer to fall. Thanks for everything.
This cottage suited us just fine. Beautiful spot on the lake, great deck to relax on, nice fire pit by the lake. Inside is a little rustic but very comfortable. Owners Debbie and linda were great to work with, if you have any problem walking the terrain around the house is very uneven and there are a few steps to get in the cottage. We had a great time and would go back😄
This is a rustic, summery cottage on the lakefront, with a wonderful deck and a dock with adirondack chairs. It was slightly chilly over Labor Day and we found the wood stove was a fantastic feature, especially with a great supply of wood from the owner. We greatly appreciated the use of kayaks and a canoe for forays into the lake in the late afternoons. The water temperature was pleasant and the swimming good. It was just what we wanted.
My family and I had a wonderful time at the property. The location and lake are absolutely beautiful. The property accommodated my family of 5 well. The raft was a hit and watching the bald eagle was so interested. Our week here was just what we needed to relax and spend some quality time together!

Clean with a fabulous right on the water location
Our stay was fabulous. Rented two cottages for our first annual family vacation. The owners are very pleasant and willing to meet your needs. Kitchens were well stocked with appliances and paraphernalia for easy meal prep. We will definitely be returning every summer.
