The house was wonderful and well-stocked with cookware and dishes. We had a brief power outage and the host was very helpful over the phone, letting us use the gas stove and giving us info about the outage.
We had bunch of friends and family together to ski at Crystal. House was perfect for gathering and feeding everyone. It's a beautiful spot with easy access to Crystal. Everything was just listed.
We loved it here! Just remember to leave early if you plan to ski. Mountain was fantastic. Loved all the Elk in the neighborhood. Note to travelers—last real chance for provisions and gas is Enumclaw. . Thanks to our host!!!

Awesome house with great proximity to Mt. Rainier
Spacious and clean with a modern charm. Loved staying there! Thanks for sharing your home!
This is a great choice for your family trip to the Greenwater area. We used the cabin as home base for our annual family skiing trip. We got snow while we were there, and were visited by the local elk contingent. Be sure to strap down the garbage can lids!
We all had a great time. I recommend the Miller Cabin highly!
Great location, space and communication with owner
Great location, easy check-in and good space in the house - you don’t feel like you’re on top of each other. Communication with Shane the owner was excellent, and he granted us a late checkout which we really appreciated. WiFi and cell service are spotty in the neighborhood so don’t rely on it for work - go up to the mountain and use the lodge’s wifi if you need to work :)
Overall the cabin was well maintained and comfortable. We could never get the gas fireplace to work even with the owner trying to instruct us over the phone which was unfortunate. The neighborhood elk roaming around were entertaining until they knocked over garbage cans and started digging through the neighbors’ and our trash.
The Miller Cabin was the perfect place for our stay. We stayed a week. This was a family trip coming from two different states. We were able to drive to many areas of Mt Ranier and surrounding areas to hike and spend time admiring the mountains, rain forest, beautiful old growth giant trees and rivers. We had a fabulous time. The cabin filled all our down time needs. The beds were very comfortable which is very high on our need list. The appliances were appreciated for their cleanliness and sizes. Thank you Shane Miller for renting to us. Maybe we can come back some day.
We enjoyed our visit to Mt Rainer! The property was spacious for our group. We ate breakfast in before venturing during the day and we had good cookware options.

Could be fabulous if property gets some TLC
The property is in a great location with easy access to Crystal Mountain, Rainier, and not too far from Enumclaw and is in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It is “surface clean” with clean countertops and floors. It needs a more thorough cleaning as drawers and cabinets are littered with crumbs and spills in kitchen and baths. The departure instructions include an expectation that the vacationer “start AND FINISH at least one load” of laundry, which is unusual and likely the cause of bath towels smelling sour. A kitchen towel was nicely folded on the dishwasher handle, but was dirty/soiled from a prior stay. There was coffee creamer in the refrigerator that had expired months before. Like most properties in the area, this one did not have air conditioning, so the master suite upstairs was pretty hot. We bought a box fan that really helped it feel more comfortable and left it in the closet for future vacationers to use.
Make sure you take a photo of the door code from the check in instructions on the app prior to driving to the property. There is very limited cell service at or near the property and I couldn’t get it to open. My signal was just strong enough to make a call, and I called Shane to ask for help, but got voicemail. He never returned my call in spite of my request to do so. I also emailed him twice concerning the property, but never got a response. I hope he wasn’t sick or had something terrible going that prevented him from being responsive.
We used the cabin for a few bridesmaids to get ready in for our mountain wedding. It was perfect. Great location. Slept everyone comfortably. Great kitchen for making breakfast.
This worked well for our family’s stay and nice proximity to many hikes in the rainier area. The community itself was perfect too- plenty of trails, roads for running, a playground, and beach to explore off the white river. Even the elks in the neighborhood were a fun novelty. I would highly recommend - perfect for a family with younger kids.
We had 4 adults and 1 dog for a whole week. Very clean space, easy check-in, good pots and pans, very sharp knives which is extremely rare, and comfy beds. Wifi is slow though so don’t expect to work much.

Quite neighborhood, elk visit in morning, clean comfy property!
We really enjoyed our stay; easy access to go skiing and we loved the location. For the price and fees, I would have expected better amenities - the pots and pans were very old, outside lighting (was very hard to see to see at night), the driveway was solid ice after the recent snow fall and then melting and no hot tub. There was also dog poop on the deck by the chairs in the front of the house, likely left by a previous renter. On a positive note, the house was impeccably clean and instructions for check-in / check-out was easy. Shane was very responsive for any questions I had.
Great property to rent for your Crystal Mountain Ski getaway. We had all we needed to prepare fortifying meals and also comfortably in luxurious beds after easing our ski related pain in the jacuzzi tub!

I'm a busy dad with a beautiful wife and three amazing daughters, and an awesome boxer dog named Zeke. My favorite thing to do is travel...I try to pack the suitcase and ditch town whenever I can. I especially enjoy traveling with my wife and daughters join and we go explore new places and culture. I can hardly wait for the next family travel adventure!
Why they chose this property
We enjoy hosting friends and family for ski trips to Crystal Mountain in the Winter and hikes around Mount Rainier in the Summer. Our cabin is a dream-come-true getaway for long holiday weekends and outdoor adventures together as a family. When we can't use it, our loss is your gain - we like to share with guests from the wonderful VRBO community!
What makes this property unique
Crystal River Ranch is a wonderful community with lots of great amenities, wildlife and proximity to Crystal Mountain and Mount Rainier resorts (approx 10 miles drive). The "downtown" Greenwater area is quaint yet cool. I recommend hanging out at Naches Tavern bar and grill in the evening and Wapiti Woolies coffee and retail shop during the day. Also, there is a local ski and snowboard shop, little general store and a couple other small retail stores. Between the Ranch, Crystal and Rainier Mountains and Greenwater downtown, you can find yourself a sweet "get away from it all" vacation adventure.
