This cottage was great! We all had a wonderful time, especially the grandkids! The trail down to the water was a little steep for me due to I have bad knees, but the lake at night was so serene and peaceful! I would definitely rent it again!
The cottage was ideal, and the path to the lake/dock short and sweet. We didn't miss TV, and the internet and cell service was sufficient. Loved being close enough to the market and restaurant when we needed something other than the view and the sound of the loons on the lake. We'd have stayed much longer, had our time permitted. Thank you, Steve, for sharing your hideway!
We could not have asked for a more perfect spot to relax and unwind for a week. The cottage was cozy, clean, and secluded. We cooked on the charcoal grill daily, swam, went kayaking and relaxed on the screen porch at night listening to the loons. Can't wait to return next summer.
This Northwood lake camp really grew on me over the week. So peaceful and private, it was a wonderful place to relive memories of growing up on Northwood Lake with my family. We saw bald eagles and loons daily. Kayaking, boating, paddleboarding, swimming and sunning were daily activities. I hope to return again one day.
the house was small but cozy. definitely secluded but on the lake. it rained and was cool most of my stay. the screened porch was the most used place during my stay. fishing was not so good possibly the weather.
I never wanted to leave! This vacation was the calm we needed to avoid the chaos in the world right now. The property was amazing, I loved being away from everyone else, very secluded. The docks and the beach were both amazing swimming areas. We took the kayaks out daily and did some fishing. My son caught his first large mouth bass! The sunsets were amazing and I’ve never seen so many stars at night. Thank you so much for sharing your family home with us. We hope to be able to come back again!

A relaxing week!
We had such a wonderful week at your family cottage doing puzzles, reading on the porch, walking, canoeing, sun bathing and having appetizers on the dock before dinner! The boys loved water skiing and we could hardly get them out of the water! The place was nice and clean and no neighbors right on top of you! The mornings were so peaceful and quiet. We often heard the loons out on the lake in the morning. I almost forgot the fireworks, they were fantastic!
Thank you for such a relaxing fun stay at you family cottage. We hope to come again this year.

Idyllic respite!
Loved this place! After a hectic start to the summer it was great to find this place a little off the beaten path. Kids loved jumping off the dock and cooking marshmellows over the campfire. Excellent swimming and boating. The cottage is pretty simple, but I loved the screened in porch, which has a view over the whole lake. Saw some awesome sunsets. Even heard some loons at night! Was about a 20 min. drive into Concord to get to the movies and big supermarket, but there was a great ice cream place and breakfast diner you can walk to. But we mostly enjoyed the cottage being pretty much at the end of a dead end road. So it was very quiet and lots of woods around. Definitely planning to go back this summer!
We really enjoyed our stay at this quaint rustic cottage. We were very comfortable with the space and the kitchen was more than adequately equipped for meal preparation. We needed a week to unplug from stressful careers to celebrate our anniversary and this property was perfect for that. The cottage is very private and tucked away in a beautiful tall pine forest. We enjoyed having our coffee and tea sitting in the screened porch enjoying the birds and cool fresh air in the morning. We spent our days at the property’s dock where we were able to swim with our puppy. The lake water is pristine and clear. We liked that there were multiple places by the water where we could set up our chairs depending on the location of the sun to be shaded by the pines. Hanniford’s grocery store is a few minutes away to buy groceries and there were restaurants and gas stations nearby. Check-in was very easy and uncomplicated. The property owner checked in on us by email promptly to make sure we had what needed. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
Had a great stay at Northwood lake, not as busy so much more relaxing. The cabin is very private and the porch and dock are great to sit on and watch the the action on the lake ,fishing or for happy hour .We had a easy drive for a day trip to Portsmouth,NH and Kittery, ME is right there also. Would go back anytime.
Perfect place for a peaceful vacation. Swim, kayak, fish, read, watch sunsets and listen to the loons. We enjoyed all of this and did not want to leave.
The property is in a great location, tucked back near the end of the dirt road away from everyone, secluded right next to the private beach which was a great perk. Distant from the neighbors, as well as unbelievably quiet. Needless to say it was as advertised. Most days we saw Bald eagles, and loons which most of the reviews posted. The house has great character and love the fact that it appears to have a majority of the original building. We loved every bit of the property and can’t wait to get back there again next year. Perfect vacation !!!
Had so many plans cancelled due to Covid we were looking forward to this trip and the cottage delivered on our expectations. The cottage is simple, no bells and whistles, but that was fine.
Cottage is clean, has all the necessities for a week at the lake. Did not use the 2nd floor bedrooms (all twin beds) or the charcoal grill. We brought a small gas grill and we grilled every night. There is a small fire pit that we also used every night.
Spent the week totally relaxing - reading, doing puzzles, watching the sunset, and sitting around the fire pit. There is aa excellent, small meat market nearby and a larger grocery store about 8 miles away in case you forgot anything. Felt very remote but if needed, close enough for a quick run to pick up any necessities.
The water was warm and shallow around dock with a gradual deepening. If we had kids with us we would not have had any concerns.
Excellent place! Great place. Would rent again in a heartbeat.
Wow. This property was so much more than we expected. So private and quiet. Just driving down to this cabin put us into relaxation mode. Perfect vaca for us!
This is a great spot if you’re looking to get away from your busy lives and just relax. As a family of 5 with kids aged from 5-11, there was plenty for them to do. Swimming, kayaking and fishing off the dock. There’s a short walk to the beautiful beach or just exploring in the woods. The cottage is cozy with the big screened porch. The views are amazing! The owners are very attentive and great at answering any and all questions. We definitely would love to come back!
Very full of nature and off the beaten path - great place if you’re looking to escape. Loved the porch and the dock/lake. We were able to bring our boat which made for a great week!
The location of the house is perfect, tucked back into the woods with views of of the lake. We swam off the dock and went to the beach. We sat on the screened in porch in the evenings and listened to the loons on the lake. It was a perfect get away for our family. Owner Steve was very responsive to questions prior to rental and easy to get a hold of.
This place really is a little slice of heaven. Its hidden in the trees with no neighbors in sight, overlooking the lake with a private dock. Great for watching sunsets. The cottage itself is very charming and has just about everything you could think of for a weekend getaway. This place exceeding our expectations and we hope to someday return. Thank you steve!

Wonderful Cottage on Northwood Lake!
We have stayed here twice now and it is exactly as pictured/described. However, what you don't really see is how quiet and peaceful it is. You might hear a boat going by during the day or the loons calling out at night, but it has a very secluded feel when you're there. The owners are very responsive and easy to work with. The cabin is clean and well maintained. You can swim and boat right off the dock or from a small beach which is just a short walk from the cottage. The new “Heritage Corner Market” is very close by if you need any supplies or something to grill for dinner. You’ll see amazing sunsets looking East from the dock. Definitely a great place to unwind and relax!

a little piece of heaven.....
We have had the opportunity to escape to this quiet little hide-a-way for many years now, and the Good Lord willing, we will be back again. So many memories were made here with family and friends, from time in the water, to sitting around the campfire to late night Monopoly marathons. The cottage and grounds are always clean, inviting and well maintained. If you are looking for a place to get away from the electronic world and unwind in a natural setting without staring into your neighbors window, this is the place for you.
