Rustic lake house not far from South Haven had everything we needed and we enjoyed the lake view with eagles and swans we fished swam and used the paddle boat. North beach was the best and Marias was the best restaurant and the Saugatuck dunes rides are a must great family Vacay
Great place to stay right on the waterfront! The views were amazing, weather was perfect and the water was so calm.
The history of the ice house is pretty interesting.
The only other thing I would comment on is the fact that the two rooms are semi-private. So I would say be sure you are staying with family or close friends that you don't mind having a bit of openness to the rooms.
We really enjoyed our stay!
Nice location on a lake and close to the Lake Michigan beach.

Fun at the lake
Overall had fun at the lake and good fishing. Close to nice beaches. Place is a little more dated and a little dustier than expected. Clean enough to not be a major concern, but just know what to expect.
The lake and area was peaceful and quiet, good fishing and the use of the paddleboat is a plus (:
The icehouse is very quaint and cute. I loved the kitchen island!
Very close to Lake Michigan, Saugatuck and South Haven. The Saugatuck Sand dune ride was fun! The Michigan Maritime Marina is a must! Both very cute little towns to visit with good food. Only 2 downfalls, the beds are a little creaky but not terribly uncomfortable and the Wifi is quirky.
Will definitely stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay at The Icehouse. Everything was just as it was described. We used the kayaks and were enthralled by the swan family. This was a perfect place to enjoy the area including South Haven and Saugatuck.
6 of us that went to college together stayed here and loved the location to be able to do activities but enjoyed just sitting outside around the fire catching up as well. Had everything we needed for a reunion weekend.
The "Icehouse" was truly a lake cabin with vintage flare everywhere! Plan to be living rustic and "remote".
Be sure to bring your groceries- the local community is very small and the grocery limited-the next nearest is about 15 miles from the cabin.
Walked right out to the lake, very, very quiet location-water equipment was there and ready to use-grill and loads of seating for outdoors and indoors.
We enjoyed our time when the weather permitted us to do outdoor activities or visit the surrounding locations. If you rely on wi-fi to do anything you will need a hot spot. The wi-fi was out for the most part. The tv has very few and only local channels - there were few games on site- we were glad we had brought cards and books with us.
Overall our first several days were fun, peaceful and for the most part met out needs. We cut our stay short after four nights due to weather and no connectivity. The beds could stand to be updated but for a few nights were not bad. The owners were lovely people and are close by.
Nice and quiet lake cottage with a pleasant westerly view over the lake. Peaceful and picteresque sunsets in July for us!
Little to no curtains with lots of big windows. Good on natural light but not good for feeling you have privacy. Anyone who has concerns when it gets dark and people can see you inside, but you can't see them outside may be uncomfortable.
Two small loft window units provide the A/C; there isn't central air. We ran and emptied the humidifier often along with the having the ceiling fans high and were generally good with temps near 80.
Note that the road is unpaved but it's a short uneventful drive.
Lots of wood interior = fair amount of dust if you have allergies/sensitive breathing. Shower jets look to have potential mold/mildew in them. There is also a bathroom window looking at the neighbor's house with half the window having no way to cover it. I.e. if you are in the driveway and look toward the house, you could see a person standing in the shower.
There is no cable TV and internet is spotty. We were gone most of the day, but even getting reliable local channels on antenna would have been a nice way to wind down the night.
Good location with nice drives to many places-wineries, orchards, St. Joseph, Holland, Saugatuck, South Haven, and more.
Overall quiet place, but older historic place without some modern conveniences. Owners very responsive!
We loved spending time together at your unique and cozy cabin. The location was perfect for us attending a wedding together in Pullman. We loved getting to see the leaves change over the lake, take in some quality relaxation time in between festivities, and be surprised by the flat friend on the wall! ;) Two minutes up the street is a Mexican grocery/counter service restaurant which was DELICIOSO - we were excited to try Pizza Time, but were served lots of pizza at the rehearsal dinner -- next time! Thanks y'all!
Thank you so much for the wonderful experience! We've loved coming here over the years and plan to continue the tradition. What a lovely calming property! The owners are also lovely and the pizza place they own has really delicious pizza! Highly recommend the veggie! Thanks again, see you soon!
