Just Renovated to maintain old nags head warmth and charm with upgraded amenities. The upstairs was originally built in 1962 by Lindal Homes, includes original western cedar walls and ceilings. The original structure was a 2 bedroom 1 bath beach bungalow, in 1983 the previous owners raised the house and made it a 2 story. We purchased this home in September 2017 and updated both floors, both bathrooms, installed a new kitchen with granite countertops. We also insulated and drywalled the downstairs to reduce noise and improve efficiency. This home also has new carpet, hardwood stairs and 2 story wrap around deck. We wanted to maintain the warmth and feel of the original home but make everything modern and functional.
Includes: WiFi Internet and 3 Smart Televisions with DirecTV Now.

This was our 4th trip to the OBX and second to Nags Head! This is by far our favorite place to stay. Location was amazing (literally two minute walk to the beach) and just off the busy main road but close to everything, clean, spacious and had beach gear, games, TV…very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend. We will definitely stay here again!
The house is well maintained and clean. It accommodated our group of 7 nicely. We ran into an issue with the locking pad on our arrival, as well as a clogged bathroom drain. But Elizabeth had these issues resolved within a reasonable amount of time. We loved that it was a short walk to the beach with a nice amount of beach chairs and other things.
This was our first visit to Outer Banks and my first beach week with my kids (6 and 4). We loved being able to walk to the beach and rinse off in the outdoor shower. Elizabeth was very quick to respond to any requests and the house was spacious and comfortable. We would stay here again!

Just okay
Pros: downstairs bedrooms were nicely decorated and bright, beach towels and chairs provided, close to beach, were able to get in early since off season; Cons: upstairs bedroom and bath r extremely dark, no outlet in upstairs bath, downstairs shower extremely small, kitchen chairs need to be replaced - super uncomfortable and feel like will fall apart, beds are super soft so if any back problems it’s an issue, bedding is delivered but u have to make all beds (have never had to do that at a rental) and bed sheets didn’t fit great since all the beds have memory foam padding on top - last thing I wanted to do after 2 days of driving is fight with sheets to make beds, upstairs bed is not a queen - double at best (sheets provided r even for a double), no outside chairs to lay out - only Adirondack chairs so daughter and friend had to lay on hard deck, and biggest con in a vacation home - no gas grill - how is that possible? Charcoal only.
Elizabeth was also not very quick to respond ( said she wasn’t getting VRBO alerts but should have at least checked to make sure all was ok). We had no hot water the first day - daughter and her friend took ice cold showers. Word of advice - there is a switch in the fusebox for hot water. No instructions on that - instructions on everything else but nothing on that. My husband only found it by poking around and checking the fusebox. And was a little miffed that there wasn’t an apology for that - just a oh the cleaning people must have forgot to turn it on. Took over 16 hours to respond to my message .
Overall would pick another OBX rental next time - picked this one since close to the beach and like the Nags Head area.
House is as described and great location to beach and anything you’d need in the area. Owner was extremely helpful and accommodating when we needed to switch our dates. Would recommend for anyone to stay here.
This was our second time at the property and we love the location and house layout. Only request would be for the picnic table to be replaced and better outdoor seating made available. Otherwise, it's great.
Property was perfect! From location to amenities, we had everything we needed and then some. The private access was great! We normally stay in Kill Devil Hills and it’s always so crowded and so much traffic. This spot was great! Neighbors, mostly residents were kind and this side of the beach was quiet. Loved it! The house was big enough so we weren’t all over each other and the kitchen had all the cookware we needed for the meals we prepared! Cottage was clean and comfortable.
Loved this property and it’s location! Exactly as listed!

Just adequate: More room and a better view awaits elsewhere for less $$.
We wondered why this property was very nearly the last one to rent over Thanksgiving. We found out. We've been coming to Nags Head since the 1960s and have stayed in dozens of beach houses in that time. This one costs about as much as most of the ocean-side places we've rented, but it's much smaller and the views just aren't worth the price. The kitchen is tiny, there's no service bar and if you lean back from the dining table you'll burn the back of your head on the stove. There are no shades or curtains for the huge windows in the not-quite-great room, so you'd better plan on dressing for breakfast. During the day the light pouring in through those windows makes TV watching almost impossible. Rooms run from small to tiny. The very soft beds are fine--if you don't have back issues. The living room could use more light, especially since one of the lamps was broken.
On the other hand, the appliances are first rate and the TV options, once you figure out the controls, are quite good. It has most of what you'd expect in a beach house (but really, no whisk in the kitchen?). The provided soap, TP, and tissues are a nice touch. The décor is above average, highlighted by an enormous swordfish suspended over the big windows.
We stayed in November, but in summer and when an ocean breeze keeps the mosquitos back towards the sound, there's a good deck with a picnic table and, from parts of it, a bit of an ocean view. They keep the wooden railings well sanded-- you'd have to work to get a splinter, and that's often not the case on the OBX.
You can get more room and better views on the land side of the beach road, but if you have small children and are worried about crossing the road with them, you may find the sacrifice of the extra bucks, small quarters, and rare views of...the cottages that surround you, worth it. Also, many of the better places rent only by the week on a rigid Sat to Sat or Sun to Sun schedule. Vrbo gives you flexibility in when you move in and leave and how long you stay that the realtor/rental offices rarely can match.
As with any beach property, location is everything, and this property’s location is fabulous! Although the rooms were clean, showers could be cleaner, with some soap residue in the downstairs shower we used. It would be great if there was foil, Saran Wrap, and parchment paper provided. Some resealable containers for leftovers would be helpful.
We loved the house. Convience to either end of the island. Very short walk to the beach. We felt it was a great place! Quiet and spacious.

Stay was Okay
Unfortunately there are more cons than pros here. Let's start with the cons. The property has old fussy blinds and pull-down shades in the bedrooms that are either broken or very hard to raise. There are NO blinds on the huge windows in the main den area, so ZERO privacy there. There are two ceiling fans in the den area - 1 does not go higher than low speed and the other is very loose and noisy. When we showed up there was a very loose door knob off of the kitchen to the deck and a toilet paper holder that fell right off the wall due to a missing screw - we communicated both issues to the owner, however neither one were fixed during our stay. The cleaning crew left a bin containing used linens out on the porch (never picked them-up from previous renter). The hanging hammock chair broke while my son (8 yr old) was sitting in it, which tells me it was not secured properly or the rope is very old and unsafe and could cause potential injury. Also, the kitchen chairs are old and wooden and should be replaced - one of our party (not overweight) was sitting and busted the chair. Overall, there are some outdated items in the house that need replacing. Lots of small things that add up to annoyances.
Recommendations: Get new modern blinds, put blinds on ALL Windows, properly secure the hammock chairs, enclose the outdoor shower
Pros: Good location, short walk to beach
This Nags Head home was lovely. It had everything we needed to have a comfortable and relaxing week at the beach. The house is conveniently located to grocery stores and other shops, but also just a quick walk to the beach. Would definitely recommend to anyone and we hope to return again in the future.
Had a great time with family house was large enough for us there were 7 of us and didn't use the bunk room at all. It was clean and it a great spot and had everything u could need
We really enjoyed our time at the house and in Nags Head! The beach was close by and was nice and quiet, and the house was great and had comfortable amenities. Check in process was very easy too and great communication with Elizabeth throughout for any questions.
A pleasant vacation from start to finish. This recently renovated home was a real blessing to our family this crazy year of covid. Clean, spacious, and well situated, we were able to do remote school from the outer banks and have a great time from this centrally located house. Thanks Elizabeth, for making it great.
Great location. Easy access to the beach without crossing a road. Lots of comfortable seating. Updated kitchen with higher end appliances. The bedroom setup was perfect since we had an infant with us. We were upstairs and infant with parents were downstairs with plenty of room for everyone. Enjoyed our stay and would do it again!
This is a great beach house! We loved every minute of our 2 week stay. The house was immaculate, had everything we needed and was so close to the beach (less than 2 min walk). It's very close to all the amenities of Nags head, but in a quiet, residential area. The beach was gorgeous with plenty of space to set up your sun tent for the day. We had a minor internet problem which turned out to be a problem with the provider in the area, not the house, but the owner was on it and took care of everything right away. Great communication and great people. I really have nothing bad to say and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for a great stay, we look forward to coming back next year!
