Peggy was an incredible host! Very communicative and informative about the area. The cabin was great, very comfortable and in a wonderful location. We would book here again!
My two small dogs and I stayed in this cabin for 28 days during the summer. We love the cabin and how close it is to everything. Peggy was very responsive. One evening I asked for a broom and the next morning I had a broom at the front door.
The cabin was cute, location great. but you have a real problem with all the doors. Most are out of plumb.Needing carpentry work, esp outside door in bedroom. a BEAR COULD JUST STROLL IN.Or a bugalar. Not secure.
Biggest downside: the bathroom. The shower door are off the tracks and it requires someone outside the shower to help lift the doors to let the person inside get out. Both sliding doors DO NOT SLIDE.
Need a footstooll.Kitchen cupboards too high for short people like me.5'1"
Small cabin in-town close to everything...including a huge parking lot
We stayed at this property in the summer and it was a great little cabin for my wife, 6 yo daughter and me. "Cozy" would be how realtors would describe it. We honestly had a great time but be aware the VRBO listing is a bit misleading. When renting this place, you get "the front unit" which is about 2.5 feet from a large town parking lot full of RVs, cars, and boat trailers. The photos are a bit misleading as it shows a mix of both the front and back units. For example, the fire pit is only for the back unit and there's no privacy on the front porch with the parking lot right there (check Google Street view to know what you're getting).
We found the cabin nice, walkable to everything including the beach, and had a great time. I just felt a little misled by the photos, and eating dinner on the front porch was like sitting in a Walmart parking lot.
I'd recommend this place but just be aware of what you're paying for and the owner should remove all the photos for the back unit. Cheers!

Grand Lake Tiny House/Cabin
Pros of the cabin:
Location is great. Very close to the main street in town. The interior was clean.
Cons of the cabin:
Very overpriced IMO. The cabin is VERY small. It is confusing as you drive up as there are two cabins with the same address. The one we stayed in was in the back. So small it reminded me of a playhouse I had as a child. The yard was completely overrun with weeds, the outdoor deck step is broken, the sofa bed is quite ragged and the shower door does not close all of the way. There is also no trash on site. You have to bring your trash to a "pay as you dump" site on the other side of town. You also have to buy a special bag at a local market before doing so. The owner could at least have provide the special bags for the amount we paid to stay two nights.
Please note there is no wifi. I missed this as I was booking.
I don't like to leave poor reviews... but I think it is important to share honest opinions. I understand that some of the charm of Grand Lake is how rustic the area is.... but basic upkeep and attention to details can go a long way.
Fantastic location!! We should have looked closer - no TV or wifi (TV just for DVDs) but it was great to go off grid and walk to everything we wanted! It’s so close to the shops and restaurants and marina but so quiet and quaint! Highly recommend Sagebrush, The Waterfront, Rapids Restaurant, North Inlet Trail, and Adams Falls.
Cozy cabin conveniently located in the heart of the town. Didn't need our car the whole time we were there. The bed and cabin temperature was very comfortable. Unlikely other small cabins, the shower was a good size with plenty of hot water. The cabin was very clean. There was plenty of outdoor space on the property, but it wasn't maintained like the cabin and we had nowhere to play the corn hole game we brought because the property was overtaken by weeds. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay at the cabin again.
This was a perfect getaway to my favorite place and this little cabin was just right. Very clean, exactly what you need, right in town, a very friendly host and was easy to communicate with if we needed anything.
We loved our stay at this cabin, the town is great, it has tons of stuff to do, a short drive to an entrance to the National park, the lake is clear and beautiful, nice shops, good food, very relaxing and pet friendly, bought our 2 small dogs and they had a great time to, will be booking this cabin again
Great stay in Grand Lake. We have stayed at this property twice with our two young daughters and the location is awesome. You are one street away from Main Street and have access to all the restaurants, lake and playground for the kids. In addition, Peggy is responsive and makes the check in process super simple and is available for any questions. Highly recommend.
The construction definitely was the headliner, albeit, once the cabin stopped vibrating, things were definitely better. It's a great location, clean, tidy, updated furnishings and we enjoyed our time away. Thank you for allowing us to bring our pets.
Great place to stay and unplug from the hustle and bustle. It was tight but we made due with two kids and dogs. Used a kennel and brought a cot for the youngest. Sleeping time it was tight but we made it work. The only down side is no barbecue grill outside and your view is the back of Grand Lake town and a big dusty road and dirt lot with power lines. But for convenience and close proximity it’s well worth booking. Very cozy and perfect for a couple.
Family of 4 plus 1 dog had a great time in Grand Lake. This cabin is in a great location (parking gets a little tough but manageable) and bonus that a moose enjoys the wild flowers on the property. We will definitely return.
Peggy the owner of the cabin is a great host! The cabin is located so close to town the lake and hiking trails. Will definitely come back!
Thanks again peggy!!
