Great for multi family ski trip

We were three families with 5 kids and the house was set up nicely for time together and for the kids to break off to the downstairs rec room while the adults hung out upstairs. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, the beds are very comfortable. It’s very convenient to Elk Mountain.

The Weekend

The house gave my family the needed touch of reality. The building was well situated ideal, clean, with needed utensils. Lawn was well mentained in a quiet neighborhood. The owner is a wonderful individual and she provided assistance when I needed it. Thanks 😊

Beautiful view

We really enjoyed the piece and quiet of the property and the amazing view off the porch. We had a good time catching up with our friends. Only concern was we couldn’t figure out the AC so we just slept with the windows open enjoying the mountain air and listening to the rain

Lovely and homey stay

The house was beautiful and spacious. It was very nice having so much space not only inside the house but outside too, we were able to play different kinds of sports and have all sorts of fun. We loved the bonfires at night (it has a lot of wood), the silence of the woods, the amazing view from the balcony at sunset... Lisa was amazing as a host as well, very responsive, and accommodating! The only downside was that it is a little bit tricky to get to the house for the first time, but if you follow all the directions on the welcome email, there will be no problem. Thanks Lisa!

Beautiful!

The Sunset Lodge is beautiful! We stayed here for a weekend - two families, 10 of us total, kids ranging from 8 to 14 - for a ski weekend at Elk Mountain. It's about a fifteen minute drive to Elk. The house was a perfect ski home - the garage is set up perfectly to be able to get dressed for/come home from skiing, with enough space to deal with all your gear. It was nice to have the basement/downstairs rec room for the kids to hang out. It's a bit more updated than the pictures show - the downstairs bathroom has been renovated, and the bedrooms are more airy and light than the pictures show. Of note is that the bunk room downstairs now only has one set of bunks and one full bed, instead of two sets of bunks as the pictures show. Lisa was quick to respond to questions. We chose to pay a cleaning fee, so as to not lose anytime of the slopes, but you could just as easily have saved some money and run sheets and towels through the laundry if you had the time. We would definitely stay here again!

Overnight getaway

We wanted to rent a place for my daughter's surprise birthday party. We found this listing and thought it looked nice. The reviews were good. However, after we booked it, we found out we had to clean it before we left or pay a cleaning fee. We thought that was weird. We have stayed at many rental properties and have never been asked to clean it. We have paid cleaning fees before, but these have been listed upfront. Also, when we got there, Lisa was still there cleaning. She said check-in was at 3:00, but it said 2:00 on the website and app. The listing mentions 2 refrigerators, so we brought a lot of food for the party. Both refrigerators had food in them when we got there. We moved things around and were able to fit everything but the drinks, but were surprised by the amount of food at the house. I think Lisa lives there when she stays in the area, which is fine, but should be mentioned in the overall listing. My daughter and her friends had a great time, but I just thought all these other surprises should be mentioned in the reviews so other people have the full details before booking.

Wonderful Stay

We had a lovely stay at the Sunset Lodge. The home was comfortable and cozy. The view off of the balcony overlooking the Endless Mountains was beautiful! We will be back!

Very clean, cozy, bright

We went for a skiing weekend with two other families. There was enough space for the teenagers downstairs and every parent couple had their own bedroom. The living room is bright and cozy. Everything was as described. Would stay there again.

The Sunset Lodge is a great place for a weekend get together with friends or family.

The Sunset Lodge property was a great rental experience and amazing New Years Eve getaway for myself and the group that came with me. The booking of the property, as well as the ease of our stay was great and we would definitely consider staying here again. The lodge has everything you’d need other than food and drink, and also provides some of the items which the listing said we would need to bring ourselves. The one thing that we wish it did have would be WiFi and a larger TV channel selection, but other than that, this property makes for a great getaway to disconnect for a few days!!

Spacious house on a beautiful location

Everything with our stay was excellent from communication before we got there through to requests on our stay. The owners were very accommodating and helpful to us. The house has everything you need and the property is amazing. We loved sitting outside for the sunset and being one with nature. Would reccomend to anyone who wants a quiet weekend in the mountains.

Amazing weekend

Stayed here with a few friends and had an absolutely lovely time. The view is gorgeous with an incredible sunset over the mountains that you can watch from the deck. A wonderful place to retreat and find some peace.

Sunset Ski Lodge

My family recently finished up a month long rental at the Sunset Lodge, and I cannot say enough good things about this property. Owners were more than accommodating in working around our dates, and any issues or questions that came up were addressed immediately by either the owners directly, or by local contact who lives around the corner. We rented with another family to enjoy skiing at Elk, and the 4 bedroom / 2 bath house was more than enough room for our combined 4 adults and 5 children. Downstairs family room, bunk room, and bath room was the perfect zone for the kids, and upstairs kitchen, dining area, living room, and additional bedrooms (3) was nice for all, or separate area for adults to relax away from children. Quick 15 minute ride to Elk made for a great stay for our two families, and we hope to be back to enjoy this great spot next year.
