About this property

1 Byre Cottage ' Stunning views....Cosy cottage.....Pet friendly!'

1 Byre Cottage is situated on a small farm overlooking the beautiful Cardigan Bay, with views to Aberystwyth and the Llyn Peninsular. The cottage has been converted from the original cow sheds (byres) into a comfortably furnished, well-equipped and cosy cottage that feel like a 'home from home'. It is a leisurely walk across fields to the cliff top where, on most days, you will have a spectacular view of the bay, often seeing seals and occasionally dolphins.
There are various sandy beaches just a short drive away and the lovely beach and cliffs of Mwnt are only five minutes from the farm. Also nearby are the pretty seaside towns of New Quay (once the home of Dylan Thomas) and Aberaeron. Byre Cottages are situated in an ideal spot for touring the Pembrokeshire National Park and the Ceredigion Heritage Coast.

Kleines Cottage an prächtiger abgelegener Aussichtslage
In diesem liebevoll ausgestatteten Cottage haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Der Besitzer, Shawn, ist sehr hilfsbereit und wurde zum interessanten und sogar freundschaftlichen Gesprächspartner.

Little piece of heaven
Such a beautiful, comfy and cosy cottage, very well equipped with all mod cons. Weather wasn't the best but the cottage has a lovely log burner to cosy up on wet and windy nights, nice seating area outside with a fire pit. Arrived to a scrumptious sponge cake, bottle of wine and flowers. The cottage is surrounded by lovely views and coastal paths, no near by shops but Cardigan is only a couple of minutes drive away. Will definatley be coming back 💕

Perfect rural escape!
We booked our stay at the last minute and we were not disappointed! The directions to the cottage were spot on and on our arrival we were greeted by our host, who gave us the low down on the basics of what we needed to know. The accommodation itself was clean cosy and perfect for our get away made even better at being met with a fresh Victoria sandwich and bottle of wine! Hints and tips provided by the host in were spot on and you cannot beat enjoying your morning coffee with a view of the ocean!

Our stay in paradise!
We arrived to a delicious complimentary Victoria Sandwich, bottle of wine, tea, coffee and fresh milk. Our cottage was spotless and had everything we could possibly need for a relaxing weekend away. Ideally situated for the Coastal Path Walk and the beaches in Aberporth and Mwnt. Sharon and Shawn were lovely and made us feel very welcome and at home. The farm is lovely with it's own lake, goats, pigs chickens and beautiful grounds. It is very well thought out and enjoyable. We have already booked to go back in August!

Lovely cottage a short distance from the coastal path
My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights with our dog and throughly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could need and we really appreciated the fact that the owners had gone the extra mile to ensure things such as spices, salt and pepper were available as these are some of the things you always forget to bring with you!! The complimentary cake was absolutely delicious. The best Victoria sponge we’ve ever tasted! Bed was very comfy and really liked the bedding used - very pretty. The only tiny ripe was that our bathroom towels were a little bit stale, I think this was because they had taken a while to dry, however this wasn’t an issue as we just gave them a quick was using the utility facilities on site (this area immaculate by the way) and they were as good as new. Location is fabulous, a short walk to the main coastal path. No pub within immediate walking distance but a number only a short drive away. Would definitely recommend and will certainly return. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Gorgeous!
Hassle free booking. Great communication, question answered quickly. Absolutely stunning cosy cottage. Lovely welcome of home made cake and wine. Everything we needed was provided. Log burner was used on all three nights even though there are radiators, as it was just extra cosiness! Loved the book shelf full of books.. could have stayed here for ages reading them all!! Our dog loved running about outside and around the lake...so much space and so peaceful. I have never seen so many stars at night.. be sure to look if you have clear skies. Such a lovely place to stay with fabulous beaches nearby...you have to go to Mwnt beach which is just stunning. Would go back to stay again tomorrow.

A lovely cosy place with everything you need and lovely touches such as cake wine and fresh flowers on arrival. It’s quite remote but that means you really get away from it all.

Amazing Views
This cottage was a perfect, cozy home away from home. Even though weather was rainy a few days the cottage was perfect, clean and cozy. Wine and cake on our arrival.....loved it.

Fantastic location
This property is in a great location, to be able to walk down the lane and be on the coastal path in just a few minutes was amazing. It is very quiet, and there was lots of wildlife around to enjoy. The property itself could do with a bit of a TLC, the kitchen is very 'worn' and the drawers were very stiff. The kettle also leaks when you pour water from it and the first morning I ended up with boiling water on my feet. The flowers, cake and wine on arrival were all very welcome, though I would have swapped the flowers for a bar of soap. The bedroom window would also benefit from some blackout blinds. TV reception was also a bit hit or miss.

About the host

My husband and I grew up in Rugby (The Midlands), in 2005 we decided to 'up sticks' and move to Wales. We both immediately fell in love with this property the moment we started driving down the track with the only question I kept asking '' Is that the sea were looking at???''
Since that point there's been no looking back! Every day I am thankful for the life I am lucky enough to lead.... hard work definitely looking after the property, animals & family but when we are walking our dogs along the cliff looking out across the most spectacular views what more can we ask for!

Why they chose this property

We want you to experience the love we have for this area. The cottage is cosy, clean & comfortable and provides the perfect base for exploring the area or just for chilling out! Its peaceful & idyllic and perfect for rejuvenating. Dogs are more than welcome here and they too love the walks on offer.

What makes this property unique

Tranquility and the most amazing views!
