Fantastic Ocean View Penthouse in Punta Leona

Extraordinary ocean view penthouse in a tranquil park for members only. Home is 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, 3 balconies, gourmet kitchen, huge master suite, terraza, private covered parking, laundry and pool. Located next to "Playa Blanca" one of the top 7 beaches in Costa Rica. If you want privacy, security, tranquility, a fantastic view in a beautiful home on the ocean, this is the place for you.

Great surfing, restaurants, hiking and site seeing nearby. Just an hour and a half from San Jose International.

If you want spacious tranquility on the ocean, this is the place for you. The Penthouse is top floor, with a huge terrace that overlooks the ocean. By day enjoy seeing the beautiful distant shores of the Nicoya Peninsula, along with whales, pelicans, macaws, and parrots , and at night enjoy the far away lights of Puntarenas.

The home was completely remodeled, and newly furnished in 2017, thus giving a new appearance. Home also includes 55" and 50" smart tv's with Netflix, cable and high speed wifi. We are located at the end of Punta Leona on a cul-de-sac so we have no traffic or traffic noise. Just waves, birds, and ocean breeze!

Guests will have the entire home, private parking garage, private laundry, pool, and grounds, including free access to Playa Blanca (about an 8 minute walk) and Playa Mantis. (While we don't provide bracelets to the private club, guests will still enjoy and have access to Playa Blanca through the central entrance)

Our goal is for you to have a fantastic vacation. Because we live here in Costa Rica, we are always available to you by phone, text or email as the need may be.

We will provide you a map and directions to Punta Leona, and the location of the home within Punta Leona. Because of the controlled entry into Punta Leona, we will need to provide the guard station the names of all in your party. You will pick up the keys at the final guard station called "Puntos de Leonamar" directly before the condominium.

The owner, Gil, was extremely attentive. The property exceeded all expectations. Excellent location with an incredible view. The infinity pool was beautiful. The travel guide in the property was invaluable. Definitely recommend this house and I look forward to coming back.

Beautiful Views and private beach

Great place to stay with awesome views and a beautiful beach. The downside is that there is no parking area to leave car while at beach. You have to leave at condo and walk back and forth. The going isn’t back but returning is a bit difficult with the steep climb.

Beautiful property and beach

Absolutely beautiful and clean condo with amazing ocean views and quick access to the beach (8 minute walk). Great outdoor living space with multiple decks. Only downside was challenges getting the AC too cold/too hot and never just right throughout the night. Communication with owner was great. Very responsive.

Spectacular views & peaceful location!

Highly recommend this property! Great communication with Gilbert leading up to our stay, and throughout the stay when we needed. Was provided a detailed list/binder of local recommendations that was super helpful as it was our first time in CR. Renting a golf cart is a MUST with going back and forth to the beach. Playa Blanca was wonderful for snorkeling, and less busy vs our usual Spring Break destinations in the US. Great location for a family (3 teenage boys) who enjoyed the culture and Pura Vida lifestyle. Surfing, snorkeling and National Parks not far. Enjoyed the pool, and the amazing views. Drive into the complex is about 15 minutes, but liked the security and tranquility of this property. Miss my morning coffee on the balcony watching those beautiful Scarlet Macaws! Ocean view is spectacular. Our family made some great memories here, and hope to be back in the future!

Our Favorite Stay in Costa Rica

My family and I (all adults) recently went to Costa Rica and travelled all over the country staying at multiple VRBO's; this was our favorite stay. The check-in process was extremely smooth, and Gilbert was checking in with us every step of the way. The condo itself was beautiful and clean, and we saw lots of macaws in the nearby trees! The checkout process was just as smooth, and Gilbert again checked in with us to make sure everything went ok for us during our stay. We would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone staying in Costa Rica! The only con to this property is the drive in Punta Leona- the brick road is not very well maintained and is very bumpy, but all in all it was an amazing place to stay. If we ever go back to Costa Rica we will certainly plan to stay here again!

Beautiful upscale property

My husband and I stayed here with our 12 and 15 year old and had a fabulous time. The condo is gorgeous, and having access to Playa Blanca is fantastic. We saw so many macaws! It's a VERY steep walk to the beach, though, so you either need a golf cart or someone to pick you up and drop you off if you can't manage the walk. You also need to plan ahead for meals and bring all your food in because it's a long way to grocery stores or restaurants. If you're looking a for a peaceful, private vacation home with unbeatable views, this is the spot for you. The owner's detailed directions and restaurant/store recommendations also proved to be very handy and accurate. Five stars!

Amazing stay in a beautiful place

Location and accommodation were even more beautiful than the photos. Everything was so comfortable, we had everything we needed. Responses from owner were prompt and helpful. Only had cell reception on the upstairs floor (where bedrooms and rooftop deck are), not on main floor, but internet worked well.

Best VRBO Ever!

Came down to Costa Rica to explore and booked a few VRBO’s this one stood out and had been the best rental I have ever stayed at!! The host was very informative of the area, communicated very well and timely, and the view/location was breathtaking. I will rebook this every time I return to Costa Rica. It’s better then a 5 star resort!!!

Wonderful Restorative Getaway

My husband and I booked this last minute and feel so lucky. It was perfect. Hearing the ocean waves, sitting on the two balconies, preparing fresh meals, relaxing in the pool and walking to the beach were all incredible. The master bed was so comfortable. The beach was velvet luxury. I want to tell everyone and keep it a secret! We’ll be back!

Impressive views

The condo is clean with nice comfortable beds. Waking up to these views every morning from the master bedroom is priceless. Gil was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Location - But Lots of Noisy Construction starting at 7AM

The property is in a beautiful location. My bride and I were so excited about visiting this location, but were surprised with the noise from the construction site right next door. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset on our first evening, but awoke around 6AM to a HUGE amount of noise, cutting, banging, etc... My bride said: I wish they would of told us. I did call the owner and he was able to have the construction start at 7AM. We really came there for peace and quiet, after the long Covid season, loss of her mother we just wanted to hear the birds and re group etc. The owner did offer to give us a free night on our next stay, but I don't Know when we will be traveling (2000 miles) to that area. I've promised to make it up to my bride and plan a second honeymoon to someplace quiet this summer. Again, the owner explained it was beyond his control and was always available to us. The area is beautiful, we enjoyed the green mountains, Zip lining, horseback riding and more. The owner provides a nice book of local things to see and do. In the end the construction got us out of bed early and we probably were able to see more things in the area than we may of otherwise.

They say location, location location, here is View, view view!

The property is great, the owner is amazing, but the view from almost everywhere in the condo is one of a kind. Hopefully we'll return once the madness ends, yet even in this climate it was an amazing experience, the place the neighborhood and the country. Thanks Gilbert

Paradise on earth

This house is beautiful way better than expected. Pictures cannot describe the amazing sound of the waves and the cozy feeling. The house was sparkling clean and it had everything we needed. Playa blanca is a few minutes away walking distance. We rented a Golf Cart and were able to drive back and forth. We will be back next year.

Perfect spot with amazing view

Couldn’t ask for more during our short stay. The property is perfect and the views can’t be beat. Super close to the beach and most definitely rent a golf cart. For your time there. Amazing View

The view was even better than pictured and the condo was true to as it was advertised. We had everything we needed, the kitchen was well equipped and the condo was very clean and a great floor plan. They area was very quiet and we felt safe.

Private retreat

We loved the condo, had everything we needed to prepare food, wonderful welcome basket with cookies and coffee, coffee filters there too! It was nice to have working washer and dryer. Loved the balconies, the pool and the beautiful condo itself. It was very private and modern. 10 minute walk to lovely, wide beach Playa Bianca, but uphill on way back, rent a golf cart on site if you have any mobility issues. We were all fine with walking back and forth. Enjoyed sailing trip to Tortuga Island with Calypso cruises-they picked us up and brought us back to the main gate. Green Path Tours-we did volcano, coffee plantation and waterfall tours and enjoyed it immensely-they came all the way up to the condo to pick us up too! Very nice family owned local business. We loved Graffiti, a restaurant at Jaco and spent one day at Jaco Beach where our young adult children enjoyed surfing with Tico's Surfing Lessons. A fun, beautiful stay in paradise!

Great place to stay with a perfect view

This place was everything we were looking for, it had all the things we needed to make for a very wonderful stay plus a great view of the ocean. We got the see Macaws and other kinds of birds flying around from the balcony. All the amenities were great and in great condition and it is at walking distance from Playa Blanca which is great, no need to worry about parking. Totally recommend this place.

I grew up building boats in my fathers boat shop and commercial fishing in Alaska and Washington. As a young man I fell in love with the ocean. A few years ago we began dreaming of a life in Costa Rica. A view of the ocean, and a boat were my on the top of my list. We looked for the best view in Costa Rica for over a year before we found it in this penthouse condominium. Then we completely remodeled it from one end to the other this past year to make it what it is now and yes, I did finally put a boat in the Punta Leona dry marina. We have a home in the mountains not far from Punta Leona where we engage in a bible ministry helping others.

As to my values, I try to treat others by the so-called “Golden Rule”, ‘treat others as you would want to be treated.’ As to my priorities, I may appear old school in this age of social media and quick profit, but I feel people and relationships really are more important than money. As to the importance of a reputation, I feel as a Bible proverb well puts it: “A good name is to be chosen rather than great wealth, to be respected is better than silver and gold.” (Proverbs 22:1) These principals, while not easy to live up to at times, have served me well as a homebuilder these past 28 years, giving me a good name and reputation in the building industry.

Some years ago we joined Airbnb for our travels to other parts of the world, and found their site the best among travel sites. Later we joined the community as hosts.

Why they chose this property

We looked for the best view of the Pacific Ocean for over a year before we found this property. This property met all our priorities; top floor penthouse, fantastic view, privacy without road noise, protected guarded entry, located on one of the top beaches in Costa Rica, not more than 1 1/2 hours from the Juan Santamaria International airport in a beautiful tropical setting.

View, view, view!
Tranquility in a tropical atmosphere, away from noise, in a secure setting on a beautiful white sandy beach! It does not get better!
