The Octagon at Capricorn
Unique layout. 4 bedroom, multilevel house with new swimming pool. Half block from the beach. Fast WiFi, Garage and more! The house is actually an Octagon, with main living area on the 2nd floor and the 4th bedroom/loft on the 3rd floor. Ground floor is the garage and there is a full bathroom for the swimming pool area!
The property is 1/2 block away from the public beach access. It takes about 5 minutes to walk from The Octagon to the beach access.
Three bedrooms are on the second floor, and a spiral staircase takes you to bedroom/loft #4 located on the 3rd floor.
Each room has ceiling fans, and the property features central AC, 3 Flat Screen TVs and fast internet. The private swimming pool was finished in May 2018 (not heated)
There is a washer and dryer conveniently located in the garage. The garage fits most cars and other lower profile vehicles (max height is 5ft 9in)
Notes: - House-trained pets allowed through a small pet fee (2 max). If it was not included on the original quote, it may be charged after reservation is booked - Swimming pool is not heated - This property is registered and holds an occupancy permit with the city of South Padre Island

My family of 11 + dog had the best time staying here for 8 days. The best location on the island, so close to the beach you don’t need a car. The home was very clean, comfy beds and pillows, bbq pit was easy to use, huge refrigerator, all the kitchen accessories you need, plus full size washer and dryer. The owner was very nice and reassured us if we needed anything he was just a call or text away.
We had a group that was attending a conference at SPI and this was a great match for us. The accommodations fir our needs, the communication from the host was terrific, and check-in and check out were both smooth. I'd definitely stay here again.
House was spacious and family enjoyed the convenience to the beach. One down fall was the entrance to the home was up a flight of stairs, was difficult getting coolers and suitcases into the house. But overall a very nice place to rest and explore the Island.
The house was big and spacious the rooms all had the most comfy beds the pool so big and perfect the kitchen was the right size i loved everything about that house totally recommend !!
The place is nice. Close to the beach - walking distance. Swimming pool was clean shower and water hose in the back to rinse off. Plenty of parking for four cars. We enjoyed our time.
The property was as we expected. Very short walk to the beach.
The only 2 suggestions I have would be to upgrade the bedding, mattresses and mattress pads and add a couple frying pans, casserole dishes and covered storage dishes. To the owners benefit, a garbage disposal would help when doing dishes.
Very awesome place to stay close to beach will rent again this summer the private pool is a plus could use a better grill but other than that this house is our new go to place

Our stay at this location was very average. Place needed some cleaning in the bathrooms especially the one in the garage. Only one bedroom had a dresser. The location is better suited for college clientele to have a party weekend. I will definitely stay here again.

My family and I enjoyed the stay very much. We had a small group of close friends and family stay and join us and size of house had more then enough space for all. Pool was perfect and location is in perfect location, close to beach and to stores. Will definitely book again.
Two of us spent 6 days here to quarantine/work, it was exactly as described. The place is large if you have several people, it will be great. Super clean, it has a de-humidifier which makes a HUGE difference. The pool was sparkling clean and the garage access, bathroom and fridge were perfect. Also literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. We liked it so much, we looked to book it again this summer and it's already all booked up! Getting access was clear/easy. Keep in mind the gates to the back don't have locks, so don't keep anything outside, we put our stuff in the garage during the day/night.
One thing to note, the quality of mattresses and sheets are not great, so if you have any kind of aches/pains, you may want to make note of that.
Will definitely book again, it was just the quarantine vacation we needed!
A great place to stay with kids; close to the beach and with a good sized pool. There’s also plenty of seating in shaded areas around the pool. Would recommend.
We had a great time. The location was perfect. The kitchen was stocked with cooking utensils, as well as with plates, bowls, and utensils. There wasn’t a dishwasher, but that wasn’t a big deal. Our family enjoyed our Christmas at the beach.
The property was great and the check in was a breeze. He is trying to update more items in time. The house could use a dishwasher, when on vacation dishes are not on the agenda. Showers are small, but are going to be remodeled. Need more cooking utensils and storage containers. Curtains on the windows to block out security lighting and 7 am wakeup call, too early for a vacation. We would reccomend to anyone, and will use again for our family

Octagon on SPI
The octagon on Capricorn was only a short walk to the beach and a quick drive to several shops. The owner was responsive when we ran into a small issue. That being said the house is outdated and in need of an overhaul. We like to prepare our own meals when on vacation. However this kitchen is lacking basic utensils ,towels and space . We also had to wash most everything prior to use. The kitchen light works on it’s own schedule. During our stay we encountered several roaches. In addition, there were no instructions regarding the dehumidifier, which we had to empty several times, or the tv. The pool man showed up randomly one morning and thankfully our dogs were in the house because he left the gate wide open. The pool bath was unusable and dirty. The pool and proximity of the beach were the highlights of this property. This house was not up to the standards we expect.

Great place!!!
Great place, plenty of space for 10. Everything is close by, especially the beach. The only thing was that the garage is too small and my Ford Explorer did not fit in. I would love to see a gold cart option at this property as it’s the only thing that would fit in the garage. Ok. A small car would fit through the garage door. Other than that this property was great. Had a great time!!! Thank you.

I started investing in Real Estate in SPI back in 2009, where I bought a townhome for our use, but we used it for only a couple of weeks during the year. So I started renting it short term and realized I was meeting wonderful people always wanting to relax and enjoy the Island... I loved it so much that I bought the unit next door, and then a unit one block away, and so forth... it's been a wonderful journey. We now own 20 units and are currently managing 6 additional units belonging to friends! I retired from the industry and I am doing this full time!
