This unique home overlooks the real natural Louisiana bayou and marshes providing the perfect setting to experience the serenity and beauty of the Bayou Life. Don't be fooled by other listings in the area that aren't even near the water or is a house crammed together with many other houses on a man made canal with only other houses as the view. Our unique place provides direct access to the Bayou for fishing, boating, kayaking, paddle boarding, or just relaxing. From the largest, nicest decks and docks on Bayou Barataria you can truly experience the Bayou Life. Fish and crab from the dock, keep your boat in the water ready to go, or our fishing guides can pick you up from your backdoor. A true Bayou experience!

Bayou Life Charter Fishing offers a complete fishing experience package. Relax, drink your coffee on the dock as the sun rises, and step straight on to the boat. We are at the end of the Lafitte/Barataria area so the boat ride to your fishing hole is that much closer. After booking contact us and we will arrange the perfect fishing and Bayou Life experience. We can set up swamp tours, airboat tours, boating excursions, and sunset wine cruises. We even have unique access to a neighbors softshell crab experience not offered anywhere else. Come for a visit and we can make sure you have a unique, complete Bayou Life experience. We provide crab traps and fishing poles complete with bait to experience catching your own dinner the Bayou Life way. With provided notice we can even bait the traps and set them out prior to your arrival so they can start catching dinner. Each rental will have 5 lbs of jumbo shrimp caught by neighboring fishermen (contact me at booking to reserve). No better way to start off livin’ the Bayou Life than with fresh local jumbo shrimp for dinner.

We strive to provide everything you will need to make your stay wonderful. Home is completely equipped with BBQ, smoker, fire pit, and patio furniture for a relaxing and enjoyable Bayou Life experience. Kitchen is completely stocked with all the pots, pans, utensils, and gadgets you could want as well as an extensive amount of spices, condiments, salad dressings, and much more so you don't have to waste time and money at the grocery store. Even has a boiling pot setup for a traditional Louisiana seafood boil. And if that wasn't enough there are kayaks, a paddle board, crab traps, and fishing poles for your use. We also just added a commercial ice machine for FREE ICE!

If you choose to hit Bourbon Street and do a little partying don't worry about driving....No problem getting to and from the New Orleans French Quarter....I have several Uber drivers on call and ready to take you to and from the New Orleans French Quarter or anywhere in New Orleans at any time of the day or night.

Boat may be kept during your stay in the water tied to the dock. Dock is equipped with ropes, cleats, and bumpers. There is plenty of parking available with additional space if needed on an adjacent lot. You have room to keep several cars and boats on trailers in this area.

The property has two rental units. Each are completely independent and on separate floors. The only shared areas are the outside docks, decks, and patios....there are several docks, decks, and patios providing plenty of room. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. For larger groups contact me about using the other unit which sleeps an additional 8 people. Bayou beauty

We had a great weekend at Bayou Life. The owner was very responsive and helpful. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Had multiple choices for views, fishing/crabbing and hanging out. Everything we could want for a fun, relaxing weekend.

The property and its location was perfect for our interest

Our primary interest was to tour the historical sites, museums, and other prominent locations in New Orleans. We also wanted to stay at a location outside of New Orleans and experience bayou living and viewing the activity on the waterway. This property served all our interest. Well satisfied!

From the initial contact throughout our stay, the trip was flawless.. owner communicates at a high level and no grey areas for question. Property was Clean as a pin, kitchen was super well stocked with a variety of pots, pans, blenders, choppers, cutting boards, coffee maker, etc. hospitality is often times a lost art, and is such an important part of the overall travel experience. On arrival we were super impressed with the layout of bedrooms, bathrooms, multiple smart TV’s with full cable packages, Wet Bar with appropriate glass wear etc…. property is located right on the canal with a beautiful balcony just off the kitchen, and access to a private dock with accessible fishing and boat access! I could go on and on, just know, this is a true five star property and we WILL BE BACK!!!

New Orleans fishing trip

This was a great place to stay! Beautiful home with all you could need to enjoy catching and eating your own fish and crabs. Our fishing guide picked us up right from our dock. Wish we would have stayed a couple more days so we could have enjoyed all of the things to do.

We were very impressed with everything about the property and the activities that were available to us by staying there. Had a great time fishing from the dock with my family and the other guests as well as the large amounts of crab we caught in the traps. We were close enough to New Orleans to visit in very little time but at the property we felt like the city was a world away

Great Stay During Fishing Trip!

Beautiful unit- plenty of room for our family. Right on the water where our charters picked us up straight from the dock. All the amenities you need to boil crabs, have a fish fry and grill out. Beds were very comfortable, A/C worked great! Small grocery store and dollar general just minutes away had all we needed. Owner was very informative and communicated well. Everyone we met in the area was so friendly and helpful.

4th of July weekend

The location was on point. The house matched the description in the announcement. Plenty of room to spread out. All basic needs and more provided. The host coordinated our fishing charter which was fantastic. I would most definitely recommend to any family going to this area. It was close enough to New Orleans to enjoy some tourist sites as well and have a quiet evening on the water.

Best stay!

Staying here was such a delight. Out of the hustle and bustle of New Orleans but close enough it’s not daunting to get there. We had plenty of room for all of us, and the way Morgan communicated and accommodated us was amazing. He checked in every day, answered questions, made sure we had what we needed, and even offered to make things happen as far as tours and everything else you could think of. Bayou Life is by far the best place we have stayed. We saw so much wildlife! Definitely one of the places we will absolutely revisit. Thanks for a great stay!!!

Family Vacation

This was a fantastic vacation! The property was perfect. We fished almost everyday off the dock and had such a great time. Fishing at night was so much fun. Morgan was a huge help with making our trip less stressful. He hooked us up with a chartered fishing trip and they picked us up from our dock! He even let us know when a local fisherman was in the area and would drop off fresh crab to our dock. There’s also a well stocked grocery store about 5 minutes away from the property which was super convenient. We did spend some time site seeing in New Orleans but our main goal was to have fun at Morgan’s property and fish off the dock. Zero complaints from my family. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again! Thanks so much for an awesome family vacation.

Property was great! Owner couldn’t have been better. The kids really enjoyed the fishing charter they went on. Airboat swamp tour was awesome! We caught lots of crabs right off the dock and had a seafood boil one night! On last day we finally used the kayaks and paddle board, then regretted not doing it sooner! Should’ve done that every morning before sightseeing! Great place to go, where you can either relax and fish all day or go to New Orleans for extra entertainment!!

Loved our stay

We had a great time as guests at Bayoulife. We loved the location. Sunrises and sunsets were stunning. Morgan was prompt with communication. We even got invited by locals on their shrimp boat which was fantastic. It was close enough to New Orleans but far enough that there wasn’t the constant chaos of City life. Thank you so much

Bayou get getaway…

Great location away from the city. The house met our needs and was has a great layout. The outside space was really nice. Plenty of chairs and decks to enjoy the view. Our fellow house mates enjoyed the fishing from the dock. It was fun watching them catch giant Drum and catfish. Overall we had a great time.

We had a great family weekend on the bayou! Morgan goes out of his way to assure you have everything needed for your stay. We booked 2 days fishing with Big Dog Fishing Charters where Susan was easy to work with and Capt Barry worked hard to put is on the fish!! Overall great place to escape and spend some family time on the bayou!!

Great value, great experience!

This is a great place for first time visitors who want the Bayou life type experience. This was my first time crabbing, I love being right on the water, we had a blast. My only regret is I wish I had more time to see the beautiful sunsets visible from this awesome location. Thanks for your hospitality, I highly recommend a stay here for anyone with a large group.
