Overall the house was very clean. Only under the couch did we notice dust and food. It was very quiet and peaceful. Owners were very friendly and helpful. Communication with them was very timely. However, there were no window coverings on main floor, sheer curtain in bathroom on first floor, outdoor deck furniture old, wet and moldy so we couldn’t sit outside. No screens on sliders. Down dirt roads that were not listed in description.

Sweet family week with grandkids.

Lake was very quiet on a late summer week. Good access to lake though it's shallow and the weeds discouraged swimming. We canoed, paddleboarded, cycled, fished. Grandkids enjoyed the playground at the Tinmouth School a bit up the road. One day we cycled the D&H rail trail. There is a pleasant walking loop around the lake. The house includes an excellent washer and dryer and plenty of towels.

Lakeside

We had a wonderful week at this property. We really enjoyed being on the lake and took advantage of both the canoe and paddle board. In addition, we did the 1 or 2 mile walk around the lake every morning. The home is very comfortable and clean. And it had everything that we needed. It is located near Manchester Center which is a great little town. We definitely would recommend this property.

We had a great time swimming, fishing, sitting on the porch, cooking, campfires and relaxing. Kept the grandchildren so busy that they hardly spent anytime indoors.

Family week at The Wild Loon

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful property with 7 adults, a toddler and a 6 month old! The lake is beautiful and peaceful and provided lots of activities including teaching our grandson to fish, swimming, floating and kayaking. This was our second year and hope to come back again in the future!

We all had a GREAT time in a beautiful spot!

The house was very clean upon arrival. The layout and size of the house is terrific - plenty of room to spread out for our group of 8. The kitchen is nicely set up for a large group to use, and is well equipped with all needed kitchenware. The large fridge was perfect for lots of food storage. The internet and Wi-fi were fantastic. The heat pumps in each room were wonderful to have. The beds and bathrooms were all comfortable and well supplied. The lake access and dock were great for swimming and kayaking. There is lots of seating on the porches and patio. The solo stove was fun - we didn’t use the grill but it’s available. We walked around the lake several times - a nice, easy walk for three generations. The owner sent good house directions and details prior to arrival, and the property manager was available and responsive when we had a question.

Peaceful

I have to say that this house was such a pleasure to stay in. Everything was neat, clean and homey as if if was your own home. The woodwork inside was amazing, the beds comfortable and the view exceptional. We happened to get a beautiful warm weekend for May so we were able to take advantage of the lake, canoe and paddle boards. Highly recommend.

Lovely home in a beautiful location

The home is very modern, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the open kitchen and family space; great for watching a movie, chatting and cooking with multiple people. The bedroom separation was great and I appreciated that every floor had a bathroom. The home was very well stocked and maintained - we enjoyed the patio deck, backyard with fire pit and the lake was lovely to stare out at. We definitely are coming back again!

Perfect Vermont winter stay

We really enjoyed this place. We were lucky enough to get a snowstorm and enjoyed using the wood stove to keep us warm and cozy the whole weekend. The kids loved exploring in the woods and going on the dock. Would be a great spot in the summer too!

About the host

Our family home has been the center of so many joyfull memories and we continue to make them whenever we have the chance. We want to share this opportunity with your family.

Why they chose this property

Our home is perfect for the outdoors enthusiasts or for a quiet getaway. We are so lucky to be only 20 minutes from the Slate Valley Trails! Our family goes nearly every weekend during the warmer months. Afterwards, we head to The Poultney Pub for some fresh eats and a beverage. Poultney is a lovely town and they have a Shaw's grocery store. If hiking is more your thing I highly recommend the White Rocks Nation Park hike to the summit for a spectacular view! For more local hikes send us a message and we will be glad to point you in the right direction. If you wish to try your luck fishing we have some huge bass and norther pike. For a temporary license head over to Tinmouth Town Office and ask for Gail. We have a great little walking trail that goes around the entire lake if you like to begin or end your day with some fresh air. Things to remember: our home is on a semi-private dirt road and children play near and around the road. The road is also enjoyed by everyone on the lake via this raod because it is part of the walking trail.
Dog walking, bike riding and running happens at all times of the day so the speed limit is 10mph. Another thing to consider is that noise on our lake travels, you will understand when you get here and can hear what is going on in the canoe in the center of the pond. Please keep excessive noise to a minimum out of respect for our beloved neighbors. Finally we welcome you to our home and we hope that you will treat it as your with love and respect.

What makes this property unique

Amazing views overlooking Tinmouth Pond and the Green Mountains. Proximity to skiing and mountain biking and hiking. Rustic farmhouse design.
