Great place!

Spent part of a week here over our kids winter break in February. We really enjoyed the condo- super comfy couch and beds, well stocked kitchen, and cozy fireplace. Great location- easy access to ski resorts and restaurants. It snowed almost the whole trip which was perfect and the resort does an EXCELLENT job of keeping the roads clear. Would highly recommend!

Love The Echotas

Stayed with family for daughter’s App State graduation, have stayed at many different properties in The Echotas and really enjoy them. This particular property had enough beds to sleep 8 comfortably which is what we needed.

Girls weekend

Enjoyed a weekend girls trip and the place was beautiful! Beautiful views and the property was amazing. We visited the outside pool and hot tub and it did not disappoint! The landscaping and waterfall at the pool area were stunning….and again breathtaking views of the mountains! The unit was clean, beds were very comfortable, and we were close to my son at App and shopping in Blowing Rock. A few, minor notes: the parking was a cluster. It’s not marked at all and it was very tight for the 5 cars that were parked there. The fan in the fireplace was extremely loud, to where it almost sounded broken. And for the person sleeping downstairs you could hear every creak of the floor when someone walked up the steps or in the room above you. However, these were very minor things and did not sway our opinion of the unit or the location. We loved it and would definitely come back!

Cleaned toJ

Unfortunately when we arrived the cleanliness of the unit was alarming in a few areas especially considering COVID. We notified property management and they brought new sheets and offered to have the unit recleaned. We had already started wiping down the sinks and counters so they refunded the cleaning fee which was greatly appreciated. We have stayed in the community several times and have recently stayed in the unit next door so we know what to expect when we arrive. All in all it is a good convenient place to stay and thanks to property management for quickly responding to our concerns.

Lovely property with maintenance problems

This townhouse is more attractive than the pictures and we enjoyed the view of mountains especially during the unexpected snow. Management does a great job of clearing roads and putting gravel in parking lots - but heed the advice to have four wheel drive during the winter! Kids enjoyed the pool although driving back wet from the other development was not ideal. Our party of eight, spanning three generations, booked for three nights, including New Year’s Eve. We had the first problem at check in when we found the kitchen drawers were loaded with mouse poop. Maintenance came quickly and cleaned out. Next morning, more mouse droppings and the master bath toilet leaked all over the floor. Again maintenance responded quickly. The wax ring on the toilet was worn out. They were able to make a temporary fix which held through our visit. They again cleaned out the mouse droppings and placed traps in the drawers. I did not think that would be effective but they assured me it would be. Meanwhile we had to thoroughly wash everything we wanted to use. That afternoon, we had to call maintenance again because one of the eight of us took a 10-minute shower and two hours later there was still no hot water. They turned up the heat one notch. On the second morning, we found the mice had come back, eaten all the bait and pooped again. Two of us were able to take a shower and then we were out of hot water. At this point we quit calling because clearly there was not going to be a fix. I can understand that when the weather gets cold, mice can be a problem. However, knowing that, the rental company should include on its pre-check in list, to inspect the property for mouse droppings. They should also thoroughly disinfect the drawers which did not occur while we were there. Be aware that if your party has more than a couple people, you could have the problem we did: No daily showers because the hot water will be gone. Additionally, anyone in the downstairs master bedroom should bring ear plugs and plan to use a white noise app because you can hear every foot step people upstairs take and flushing the upstairs toilet creates a roaring noise. Again, this is a pretty property in a beautiful location but property management needs to improve. I explained all that happpened when returning keys to rental office. The maintenance fellow - very pleasant - felt bad. The office people did not seem to care, let alone offer a partial refund as they should have.

Overall very pleased

We rented a top unit in a triplex in the Echote on the Ridge development. We were two families, each with two kids between the ages of 3 and 9 (so 8 people total). The unit had a beautiful, unencumbered view of the mountain range and was very comfortable with two exceptions: the pillow-top mattress in the master bedroom was very squishy and the loft sleeping arrangement for the kids meant that the grown-ups had to socialize in whispers after they had gone to bed. In the summer, this would not have been an issue because we could have gone out on the deck - but it was too cold for deck-sitting this late November visit. We made use of the indoor pool and hot tub at the neighboring Echota development and I also used the fitness room at Echota on the Ridge which was completely adequate, and within walking distance of our unit. Disappointed to see there was no option for recycling, even at the dumpster location. We carted our recycling home. Also Roscoe rental was very helpful and accommodating. Had a great experience interacting with them. Overall, very pleased with our experience.

Perfect Birthday Retreat!

Really beautiful townhouse, conveniently located near Banner Elk, Boone, & Blowing Rock. We stayed three nights with four adults and two children. The townhouse was extremely clean with plenty of towels. We chose this townhouse because of the bedroom set up. It was wonderful to have the bedroom with a king and queen bed. We enjoyed the location being close to the pool. The high elevation made the view from the porch nice. Trees across the street partially obstructed the view but it was still a nice tranquil place to unwind. Views from the pool balcony were breath taking and the pool and clubhouse were spectacular. We had issues with cell phone service and, with no unit wifi access, this made it difficult to research golf and tourist attractions located close by. We only cooked breakfast and found the kitchen supplies to be adequate. Kitchen cooking utensils were quite worn and should probably be replaced. It would be nice if the owners would add unit wifi access for renters' use. We would most definitely stay here again and, in all likelihood, will do so again real soon.

Nice house but NO view...

We recently stayed here while on summer vacation in NC. The house was very clean and nicely furnished. We had four adults and two kids in our party and we were all comfortable. Although the previous review stated that the house has a "lovely view", the view from the outdoor deck is of another townhome and the fairly busy, often times noisy, road below. The area is beautiful and the community is very nice, however this house does NOT have a view. The kitchen is sparsely equipped. To be fair, we love to cook and are just used to a lot more cooking equipment. We made due with what they had but if you are a cook, just be prepared for minimal tools to work with. The house is walking distance to the clubhouse, which is nice. The driveway is STEEP. The community is located within short driving distance of Grandfather Mountain, zip lining at Hawks Nest, the Mast General Store and the grocery is close by. Overall we enjoyed staying at this property but will probably look for a house with a better view next time.

Above expectations

This is a great rental. We stayed 3 nights with 5 adults and 2 small children. We had lots of room. The rental is very clean and beautifully decorated. It has a lovely view from near the top of a mountain. We will use this listing again when in the area.
