A little slice of heaven!
We loved our 4th of July getaway at Cedar Hill! It was a perfect spot for my husband and I to get away, recharge and reconnect. We also really enjoyed Jim and Sherry, the hosts! This isn’t the spot to go to if you’re looking to party or do a larger or group stay. The three cabins on the property are really made to comfortably accommodate a few people at each cabin. We enjoyed paddle boarding and swimming off the dock, walking around the property and visiting the nearby Lost 40 Acres and the Chippewa National Forest. We enjoyed some delicious ice cream at the Black Bear Drive-in in Northome and felt like we had the perfect balance of down time and excursions. We are already talking about our next visit to Cedae Hill. Thanks so much Jim and Sherry for sharing your little slice of heaven with us!

Cabin in Northome
We stayed in cabin 2. Our hosts Jim and Sherry were gracious and wonderful hosts. Flowers on the dining table and bathroom were welcoming. Our cabin was clean, well kept up and had great light. Kitchen is equipped with essentials - cutlery, pots and pans, grater, can opener...etc. They had great suggestions for hiking with our dog and area facts. They are giving with time, stories, chanterells, and a special gift of kindness. It's our first trip without our kids, now that they are all over 21. The area is a great base camp and if you love forests check out the Lost 40. We would love to return in the fall with the kids. Highly recommend.

Quiet getaway
This is rustic Northwoods cabin, as listed. Excellent value for the money. Owners are exceptionally nice and attentive. Views from cabin 1 are amazing. Saw bald eagles, pelicans, many different ducks, and several other birds right from our cabin. Would definitely stay again.

Cozy cabin in nature
We were very impressed by our experience. The cabin is clean and tastefully furnished, we even had live flowers in a vase! There are plenty of hiking places close-by and our hosts, Jim and Sherry are very helpful. We would definitely stay there again!

A perfect extension to our initial stay
We loved our stay so much that we decided to extend our initial stay - luckily for us, Jim and Sherry were able to arrange for that to happen. This is by far our favorite place to come for rest and recreation. The cabins are impeccable with everything needed for a comfortable stay - the kitchen is well equipped and everything is clean and cozy. Northome is a nice and quaint little town that also had everything we needed during our stay. There are lots of interesting places to visit and explore during day-trips. And the owners, Jim and Sherry, are such great hosts - they made sure that everything worked out as planned. We could not ask for a better vacation - everything has been beyond expectations. A wonderful stay at Northome
Jim and Sherry are wonderful hosts. The cabin and our stay was everything we had hoped for - great view, a clean and nice cabin, all amenities that we needed and being close to a variety of interesting attractions - like the Lost Forty. Peter and Terri

Family Vacay
This week in July every year our family spends time together. We have been in many locations in many states in many countries. We loved our week together this year. The lake was quiet and literally all our own. The four cabins made our stay so enjoyable. Our hosts were magnificent!

Lovely and quiet
Before we even arrived, we were able to communicate with James to see what cooking supplies we needed to bring (most of them were already provided) and James had great suggestions for things to do in town and nearby. We were greeted at the property once we arrived by James and Sherry, both incredibly delightful people, very kind and welcoming. Each cabin was beautiful and clean and had lovely fresh flowers, China, cooking supplies, grilling supplies, fans to keep cool, and even interesting reading material. The showers had amazing water pressure too! Plus it was really nice to each have our own room/space. The property has a gorgeous view and is right on the lake so there’s swimming and canoeing and hiking to be done! Several times our meals required tools which we didn’t have, and James and Sherry were more than happy to help. We attempted to grill, and I’ll be honest, I’ve never started a charcoal grill before. James came outside and taught me how! ❤️ We had a wonderful quiet little getaway, learned a life skill, and had so much fun. We would all definitely come back and stay here again.

Relaxing weekend away
Jim and Sherry are awesome hosts! We had such an amazing time at their place. We loved the lake and all the hiking recommendations Jim made. My dog came along and loved sniffing around the place and seeing all the wildlife. Jim even pulled out the fire pit one night so we could make s’mores. With covid, I felt safe and knew the place was immaculately cleaned. Kitchen has everything you need. We enjoyed our stay immensely and hope to be back soon! Thank you Jim and Sherry!

Gem in the Northland
We had a wonderful stay at these cute cabins. We didn't spend much time as there was so much to do in the area that we traveled a lot. But, the cabins were clean, beautifully decorated, and quiet. The hosts were gracious and very kind. Beautiful views!

A perfect getaway for us
We needed a break from urban life and this was the perfect spot. We loved the cabin (true to what cabins are meant to be) and the location in the woods. Seeing/hearing Loons, Cedar Waxwings, various warblers, a Pileated Woodpecker and a Barred Owl at night were all a plus! Jim and Sherry were welcoming, receptive hosts, always helpful and responsive to our questions and needs. We had great conversations with them on all kinds of topics. Overall a wonderful getaway!

Fabulous Retreat
We had a wonderfully peaceful visit to Cedar Hill. Everything was just as ideal as previous guests had described in terms of outstanding cleanliness and hospitality. It was the perfect getaway and we couldn't have asked for kinder and more helpful hosts. The cabins are well equipped and we enjoyed sitting on the dock and swimming in the lake, and of course listening to the loons.

The views! This place has the most incredible views. It is so quiet and peaceful. We took a girls trip and had a blast, but this spot would be great for a family vaca too! The owners are great and the most hospitable people. A must stay!

Beautiful and serene spot
We enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the property. The size of the cabin was perfect for the two of us and our dog and had everything we needed. We rented a pontoon from Craig at the resort down the road which worked out perfectly. Nice big lake to explore and cruise around. Jim was very helpful in getting that set up ahead of time. Both Jim and Sherry took good care of us. It was a hot stretch while we were there but we made it through with fans and open windows—just like the old days!

Tranquil place to stay!
Sherry and Jim are wonderful hosts and gave my husband and I great information as to where we should explore: lake Itasca and the start of the Mississippi trail- we walked 6 miles in beautiful scenery and the Lost 40 1/2 mile trail- untouched MN forest for over 300 years! Our stay was super quiet and cozy, which is exactly what my husband and I were looking for, a place to get away from all of the city noise! Sooo needed!! As mentioned in other reviews, the mosquitoes can get bad at night, so bring your bug spray... wonder if it may be better in the fall? Either way we enjoyed staying inside for some card games. Both Sherry and Jim are wonderful hosts and made tons of recommendations, were very friendly and welcoming hosts! We will recommend this sweet gem of a place to others!!
