A private, bright and spacious Cottage - perfect for a relaxing break and ideally located for exploring the surrounding areas.
Ideal base for touring: the Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey, Connemara, Aran Islands, The Burren, Co Clare, Cong, Galway City.
Situated in a rural area, just 10/15 minutes drive from Galway City centre.
3 minutes drive to restaurants, pubs and shops in local village.
Galway City Centre (Eyre Square) is 5 miles (8km) away.
Galway Race Course (Ballybrit) is 3 miles (5km) away.

Spacious, peaceful, cosy, self contained Charming Irish Country Cottage. There is a large and comfortable open-plan living / dining / kitchen area with all modern appliances.

Amenities: Oil central heating with stone fireplace and multi- fuel stove.
Fuel, power and starter pack for fire, bed linen, towels, and WiFi.
Two USB sockets to charge phone in Livingroom.

Kitchen is well equipped with coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher and hob.
Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer, freezer, microwave, iron and ironing-board.

A welcome pack is provided.

Two bedrooms: one on ground floor with a comfortable 5ft kingsize bed, (US queen) and upstairs another kingsize 5ft bed (US queen) with ensuite bathroom. It sleeps four people comfortably.
Main bathroom downstairs with walk in shower, wash hand basin and toilet.

There is a garden to the side of the cottage with garden furniture.
The Cottage is surrounded by a hedge and enclosed with a gate as well as off road parking.

The property can sleep 4 pax maximum.

NO pets allowed and NO smoking in the Cottage.

NOT suitable for young children as bedrooms are not located on the same floor.
There are no facilities for infants/young children at the Cottage.

We live close by and are available to assist you, if required, during your stay.

There is a side walk/footpath to the local village which is 1 mile (2km) away.
It has a pub, two hotels, two cafés, two supermarkets, a Church, a post office and a number of shops.
As the Cottage is situated in a rural area, a car is recommended for getting around.

Charming and Welcoming Irish Cottage—Simply Perfect!

We couldn't have imagined a more delightful stay than this charming cottage in Claregalway! From the moment we stepped inside, the warmth and character of the home instantly welcomed us. Every detail—from cozy furnishings to thoughtful touches throughout—made us feel right at home. We were greeted by a toasty peat log fire in the stove. There was even coffee and tea in the cupboard, milk in the fridge, and other tasty morsels that were all much appreciated upon our arrival!The cottage is beautifully maintained and immaculately clean. It offers the perfect blend of comfort and modern amenities. This spacious cottage served as an ideal base for exploring Galway and the surrounding countryside from our own peaceful retreat. Our host was incredibly thoughtful and responsive, making sure we had everything we needed for a memorable stay. Their hospitality showed strongly in all the thoughtful touches to anticipate every need. This includes a detailed notebook with everything you could possibly want to know about the area and nearby attractions and many books on the local landscape.One note to be aware of –if you are traveling with three/four people or plan to use both bedrooms, that is what triggers the “additional guest fee,” which is not very clear on the VRBO website. For us, it was an unexpected 65 euro additional per night.Despite that, if you're seeking genuine Irish charm and a home that truly feels welcoming, this is the place to stay. Highly recommended!!

Comfortable & Cozy Cottage In Galway

When looking for a quiet, cozy location just on the outskirts of Galway Center, look no further than booking this cottage.During some downtime, I had the luxury of reading through the Cottages Guest Book. The Giles Cottage has had guests from all over the world... from Australia to Kenya (and places in between). In just about all cases, each Guest wrote about the hominess of the cottage, as well as all of the love Cathy and her husband have put into this place.Cathy is the consummate host with impeccable communication and even going as far as personally meeting me to assist in reducing and disposing of the ashes in the fireplace. If looking for a place just outside of Galway City Center, this gem should be on the top of your list!

Christmas Galway

The Stay @ Giles Cottage met our expectations, and more. The space is quiet and peaceful, which is very welcomed after a day in the city. Walking distance of the regular bus to Galway, and walking to Claregalway is very possible….No issue recommending this location and what it offers….Thanks Cathy

Perfect stay at a wonderful cottage

We were working at our Galway office and this was an ideal base. After a long fight from New Zealand we arrived to a beautifully presented cottage, complete with a welcome basket. Close to Claregalway and Galway we couldn't have asked for more. Cathy was a great host, and nothing was a problem. We will be back.

Stunning cottage

The cottage is absolutely beautiful. Right out of a magazine. Our stay was comfortable and the location was perfect for rides to City and to the surrounding areas that we toured.

Adorable Cottage for a nice escape from city

It's exactly as described. It's in the country but not too far from Galway by taxi. We were easily able to walk a mile to a decent restaurant. Hostess replied immediately to any inquiries. If you don't have a car like us, it's still doable. Taxis are 10 min away. House is spotless and very nicely decorated!

Wonderful well appointed cottage!

The location is great - in a lovely neighborhood surrounded by farms and minutes from groceries, pub with excellent food and everywhere you want to go. The 200 year old cottage has all the modern amenities- yet retains the charm and quaintness of the past. The hosts were lovely - Make sure you read the book the host has put together - it’s full of history of the region and fantastic recommendations for what to do in the area - and we changed our plans once we read it and were so glad We did!! Waiting for us when we checked in was everything we needed for breakfast, snacks, cozy fire, showers, wash …it could not have been more organized and well appointed. Highly recommend!

We loved this property. Cozy, warm, charming. It was a perfect location for us. Quiet area but so close to the city center. Cathy was wonderful. So kind and accommodating but not intrusive. We could not have asked for anything better. It was perfect for us.

Felt like home

The cottage is perfectly situated about 5 miles outside Galway city in a beautiful little suburb right off the main road. Close to every convenience you’d need—gas, food, etc. The interior is cozy and Cathy left treats around the house to increase the comfort of our stay. The beds are extremely comfortable, and although the owners were nearby working on the farm, we felt we had our privacy. Would def recommend staying here and we’d love to return. one thing to note is there is a farm animal on property so there is a bit of smell at times but we dont mind those kind of things. :)

Home Away from Home

I had a wonderful time at Cathy and Martin's Cottage! They were both great hosts. Communication was excellent and always in a timely fashion. I was welcome to a nice peat fire and a morning basket. The house is clean and all supplies needed are there. The location is perfect for the West Coast and more... I will gladly return to their Cottage! Thanks again for sharing a piece of Ireland with me! Marie USA

Great cottage for Galway area and Connemara

Perfect Location

Beautifully maintained cottage, exactly as pictured. It has everything you could need during your stay. Perfect location for exploring the West coast and Galway. Close to the racecourse, and plenty of shops and places to eat. Friendly and helpful owners , to make it a wonderful place to stay.

Great Accommodation for Galway Area

We really enjoyed this cottage and the location. It's location between Galway and Claregalway makes it handy to tour the city, yet Claregalway was convenient for groceries etc. Also the location allowed easy day trips northward to Westport and Kylemore Abby. The cottage is clean, well maintained and had everything we needed including a washer and dryer. We found it exactly as advertised and communication and access arrangements with the owner were fantastic. Really enjoyed our stay ! Dave & Diana Canada
