If you've waited for the perfect beach house in Wild Dunes, this is it! Very charming 4-Bedroom/ 4-Bathroom that has recently had updates galore! A brand-new kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, 4 fully renovated bathrooms, interior paint in the entire house, flat screen TV's, an outdoor dining set added, all new decor and a space underneath for the kids to play equipped with another dining table and ping pong!! The LOCATION IS IDEAL - very close to all amenities offered in Wild Dunes and is on a direct path to one of Wild Dunes 3 beach accesses that has an area for golf cart parking.

GOLF CART INCLUDED!! With this rental, a 6-seater golf cart is provided for your enjoyment. The 5-minute walk to the beach is now a 2-minute ride making trips to and from the beach easier for all. The golf cart is a great way to travel around Wild Dunes and discover all it has to offer.

This charming home is located on a quaint cul-de-sac perfect for kids to play outside and across the street from the putting green. There is an outdoor shower and a 2-car garage. Additional 3 car parking in the mulched side yard for 5 cars total. A large screened-in porch with outdoor dining allows you to relax and truly get into 'beach mode'. There is also a large seating area on the screened-in porch, a perfect place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee. A grill is provided on the back patio downstairs for guest's enjoyment as well.

There are 4 bedrooms and 4 full bathrooms, a perfect set-up for 2 families, a family and grandparents, or a girls or guys weekend getaway. The master bedroom is equipped with a king bed and its own bathroom and a private balcony. There are 2 queen bedrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs, and a bunk room with 2 sets of twins over twin bunk beds. The master, bunk room and upstairs queen bedroom each have their own flat screen TV allowing guests to curl up and watch their favorite movie on rainy days. This home contains a fully stocked kitchen with seating for up to 6 people at the dining table plus 4 barstools for dining at the spacious island, and a very large den with lots of comfortable seating. Our house is absolutely perfect for entertaining family and friends.

New addition!!
- 2016 - A beautiful outdoor shower was added. Guests can now enjoy this wonderful feature after a long, fun day at the beach.
- 2019 - A brand-new front deck
- 2020 - We did a VERY large renovation on the property which included a brand new kitchen, adding a full bathroom downstairs, doubling the screened in porch in size, a new laundry closet upstairs, and 3 full bathroom renos upstairs.

Located just a 20-minute drive from historic Charleston, there are numerous sites to see and places to shop. Within 5 miles there are over 15 restaurants, 7 golf courses, 3 marinas and several parks. Guests can enjoy golf, nature adventures, boating, water sports and deep sea or in shore fishing. You may prefer a relaxing day at the spa or just sunning on the beach. Wild Dunes has daily activities for both adults and children. Rent a bike or bring your own and enjoy miles of scenic trails.

Pools and Tennis: Wild Dunes recently changed policy in 2023 and all tennis and resort pools (Swim center with lap pool near our house/Sweet Grass Pool/Boardwalk Inn Pool/ Grand Pavillion Pool) are for residential members and resort fee paying guests. As our guest you “officially” do not have access to the pools or tennis.

A Special Place

Great spot for family and friends to gather

This property was clean and plenty of space for our group of 10. The location is convenient to the restaurants and ice cream in wild dunes and beach access is easy with the golf cart. The house had everything we needed to enjoy our week, the screened in porch was a favorite spot for teens and adults to hang out.

IOP vacation 2023

We had an amazing vacation at the beautiful Back Bay house in Wild Dunes. Our rental house was just amazing! I can’t say enough about the owner, how he checked on us the first day to make sure everything was okay with our stay and if I had questions, I just had to text him and he immediately replied. And the golf cart was such a blessing for us to use during our stay bc of our three grandchildren, especially for the 7yr. old with Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy. Thank you, Patrick and family, for allowing us to rent your beautiful IOP’s house for our vacation.

Wonderful Stay, again!

This is our second year staying at this property and we had another amazing vacation. The home is updated with all the amenities and the location is wonderful. Close to the pool, beach and Sweetgrass property amenities. We look forward to coming back next year.

Wonderful stay in the heart of IOP

We loved the property, the golf cart, and location! We had two families, two au pairs, and 3 kids- the house was great for us. Enough space for everyone, huge well stocked kitchen, a TV w Netflix in every room, lovely screened in porch, etc. Beth was so easy to work with and gave us great recommendations. Highly recommend and hope we can stay again!

This couldn’t have been a more ideal location. It was a reasonably easy walk to the beach and Wild Dunes amenities yet on a quiet road away from the hustle and bustle. There was plenty of gathering space for family but also options to be by oneself. We cooked great meals in a well-equipped kitchen. Beth was quick to answer our questions. Great vacay!!

This property was just as described. It was perfect for our family. Very clean and updated. The Golf Cart is an added bonus, as that is the way to get around the island. Beth (the owner) always responded quickly if we had a question. I would highly recommend this house if you are going to The Isle of Palms. We will be back.

Beautiful & Cozy Home!

We enjoyed our stay on Back Bay drive from the first second we walked into the beautiful, cozy house & my entire family from 7 to 69 felt right at home!!! The home provided just what we needed in a great location with the added perks of a huge golf cart, beach toys, games & all just minutes from the beach! This is a great home, nicely updated, clean and very functional spaces. The "outside" living room is amazing and the kids loved going for golf cart rides. Great property and great host! We will be back in the future.

I was hoping our first VRBO experience would be easy and wouldn’t have any surprises. This beautiful home was listed and pictures very accurately. What we were surprised by was how absolutely gorgeous the IOP was. It was so incredibly lush and tropical! The home was well equipped even though we didn’t use the kitchen nearly the way we thought we would. There were just so many things to do that our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer to really enjoy the house. This vacation was the first family vacation for our newly blended family of six and we made wonderful memories at this house and IOP. Having the golf cart was a total must and a game changer. We loved it.

Loved Our stay!

Beth was very easy to communicate with and responded in a timely manner. We loved everything about the home. Especially the back screened in porch. The finishes were amaZing in the kitchen and bathroom remodel. The kitchen was very well stocked for a large family. Had more than enough dishes and even plastic containers for leftovers and such. Golf cart was such an added bonus and took us right up to the edge of the beach path 🤗. Grateful for our time here tucked into the beautiful lush landscape of Back Bay!

Perfect IOP/Wild Dunes Getaway

We've stayed in Wild Dunes for the past 11 years - twice at this property - and this is probably our favorite rental home (and we're really picky). We stayed here pre-renovation and thought the house was great but the recent renovations made it even more comfortable. Everything is beautiful. Lovely neutral decor and high end finishes and appliances. Each BR has it's own bath and the 2nd floor laundry came in handy. The home is thoughtfully equipped with everything a guest could need (even phone chargers!). Some rental properties feel like rentals. This really felt like home away from home. In addition to being beautiful, the home is ideally located within Wild Dunes. Super close to all amenities (no more than 5-10 minute walk to everything) but just far enough removed from the busiest parts of the resort to be peaceful and quiet. The owner was a joy to work with - both responsive and personable. I really can't recommend it more.

Great location!

We stayed for a quick week with our teenagers. Being close to the Wild Dunes amenities was a plus. Across the street from hole 1 on the Harbor Course. Golf cart is nice and can hold 6 people. Kitchen is beautiful and well stocked.

Great Spot!

We had a great winter getaway at this lovely home. The updates are spectacular and everything in the description was accurate. The golf cart was a huge hit with my son and made getting to the beach easy despite some construction going on near the beach. The manager was super responsive to a couple minor issues (all our fault). Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect Home!

This home is everything you need! The screened in porch was our favorite we didn’t even mind the day it rained because the porch made it enjoyable. The kitchen had everything we needed and the layout of the house was perfect. The golf cart was an extra bonus! We had a few questions for Beth and she always texted right back and was so helpful! We would stay again!

Patrick and Beth Schutz. We have owned 5809 Back Bay Drive since 2015 and love Wild Dunes and Isle of Palms . We live in Atlanta and stay very busy with our 3 kids sports. We love the beach and get a sense of calm every time we cross the IOP bridge onto the island.

5809 Back Bay Drive location is ideal! You are tucked right behind the center of Wild Dunes in a quiet and private cul-de-sac. 2-minute walk to the new Sea Grass Inn hotel and the heart of Wild Dunes.
We have constantly improved the property with tons of updates and revisions utilizing every square foot.
Some of our favorite things to do - going to the beach, family bike rides, cocktail cruises on the golf cart looking for wildlife, meals on the back deck, eating dinners out at IOP and Sullivans, Adult night out in downtown Charleston, surfing, runs and walks on the beach, and much more!
